Good video Jeff, retail for 5 quarts of 2w50 and an Amsoil filter would run you read read $105. If I set you up with a preferred customer program it would only cost you about $80. I know it will cost a little bit more than that Valvoline that you’re using but the comparison and quality isn’t even close.

I'm using 20w-50 Valvoline , it's fine I just change it a little sooner to be on the safe side even though probably don't have to. I'm using offroad kind spose to be a little tougher , it was no difference in price anyway.

Going DarkSide with my 950 this winter. What size is that rear rubber? I heard 205/60r16 is good but this one looks different. (?)

Had a chirping noise that I couldn't figure out what was making the noise. Thinking it was the belt so I adjusted it several times. This evening I jacked it up and run it in gear and found it was the rest sprocket area. I checked the parts list for the rear wheel and found there is a needle bearing in the hub of the rear pulley. Previous owner put on new tires and I'll bet he didn't grease the axle or that bearing. See the bearing isn't a sealed bearings so it probably doesn't carry any weight and just runs on the axle. Wish I didn't have to pull the wheel to fix it.

Yeah.......gotta take care of the bearings........gonna be replacing all the wheel bearings this year.

I'm from UK looking at this or the 650 next favoring this over the 650 for the FI over carb and higher speed highway speed in UK is 70 mph how easy is it to adjust and maintain the belt compared to a chain and how often do you need to ajust

    • @thebeardedguyjefflawless5887

It's an easy adjustment.........I check the tension at every oil change and adjust maybe every 10,000 miles. The 950 is a great bike......you won't be disappointed

He said not to go over 90 lbs. I know on the belt tension they say to set it at 7 to 10 mm free place so it doesn't. Take out your front pulley shaft bearing. I think I'm going to take the muffler off tomorrow and loosen that nut some.

The motorcycle is not sitting on its wheels. The distance from the drive sprocket to the wheel sprocket is the shortest it can ever be. Any weight will tighten the belt. (And ruin the needle bearing in the cushion hub!)
