@@flightandfind yes, but if I remember correctly, you have a 4GB VRAM laptop, so what x-plane does is it automatically reduces texture quality and LOD if the GPU is running out of VRAM. That's why at the beginning the terrain looked very blurry and there were no buildings or trees. You'll need at least 6GB VRAM if you don't want X-Plane to blur textures and reduce LOD.
@@the-aviator Hm, okay, but I play msfs with the same specs, and everything is knda normal. I am trying to install Autoortho, but it only loads terrain 2-3 miles near the airport for some reason
Moded MSFS is spot on. X-Plane is horrendous, not sure how anyone could play with that thing. Probably because some people have really old rigs so they use X-plane instead.
Tried MSFS during 6 months. Deinstalled it. Flying felt horrible and I missed so many things XP does better. Am much more happy with XP12. No one is clearly better than the other. Both have pros and cons.
@@flightandfind it’s because you are being throttled. I had the same. Using a VPN solved it. Autoortho works perfectly for me and is a huge improvement so far. More than enough for visuals.
At the very least, these videos are not synchronized at all well. I see roads going by in one but not the others, etc. Not quite depicting same location. These videos are very cool when done right but not all content is created equal.
Could you know how hard it is to find the correct approach path. I spent a day searching charts and finding the glide slope, and then spent 2 days synchronizing these videos. In my opinion I put quite a bit of effort into this type of content!
I have always hated XPlane because of the colors I found sad and washed, it felt like there were no sun even when the sky was blue. And now it seems from this video that they are actually much more realistic than the one of FS. Considering I am flying IRL, it's puzzling, I am not sure what to think anymore. Maybe it tries too much to mimic a video capture of reality, which itself does not really do justice to what you actually see when you are up there.
Blud looking outside with your own two eyes is different to looking at a screen. During a sunny day, it’s extremely bright when you’re up there just like MSFS
@@frankkky7375 not really. And for me it’s the opposite. XP is better in all relevant points, except the ground-textures and autogen. When i watch an XP-stream I see MSFS-users complaining about why MSFS misses all these features XP has.
Hm, I dont know. For MSFS I had to get a tree addon, airport signage addon, runway texture addon, garmin addon to have something function. An airplane addon to have some switches that functioned. For xplane, I got accurate placed trees for USA, othrographic terrain and roads, a weather addon, and an addon to customize the look of it all in general. I like both but I like xplanes aircraft handeling better.
This video doesn't do justice to x-plane as most of the settings are low-end, and addons like x-plane map enhancement and x-world are not used.
Graphics are on high settings, and mods aren't used both for msfs and for X-Plane, just so everything is fair

I moded xplane and its more accurate for my state in the USA than msfs.
not only did it give u a parimiter highway but theres some nice jump ramps there for your a330 lol
Perfect comparison but don't forget that the MSFS video would have been way more realistic with for example REX Accuseason (it's game changing!).
I will check that out
Perfect? By whose definition?
@@Level10Productions By mine.
Where can I download this Real Life sim? ;)
Doesn't look like Autoortho really works...
The video was without it for now. It's strange how the AutoOrtho only loads data for 2-3 miles around the airport, and then stops
Yeah that is strange indeed. I feel like real life, fs2020 and xplane 12 need a graphics update
Auto ortho never worked... It is slow and looks terrible when at lower altitudes, it doesn't even look good with the rest of Xplane graphics.

XP11 was washed out. XP12 is 1000x better. The atmosphere colors are absolutely great.

Yes! One is better at physics, one is better at graphics
Until now msfs better than x plane 12 for everything
Except the actual flying
@@Pr1meZ once u get addons msfs is better in that area as well but most default aircraft are pretty poor. msfs 2024 will improve on that tho

Xplane has crash animations while msfs doesn’t
Will we get like a trip report any time soon?
That footage was not by me and was recorded in December, so no(
Reminds me why I gave up on XP12, that was atrocious.
I dont get why people buy xplane ngl
they dont have the hardware to run msfs
I don’t get why people get MSFS. The flying-feeling is atrocious.
