Absolutely. Not only that, the coward networks would be scared of the half dozen wokes, who don't even watch the show, that call to complain rather than the hundreds of thousands of fans that actually watch the show.
Amanda Bearse who played the Bundy's neighbor Marcy who was always feuding with Al wrote and directed 30+ episodes of Married With Children. Ed O'Neill (Al) and Amanda were actually also feuding behind the scenes. You should react to some of the clips including those two characters.
Amanda Bearse basically was/is Marcy in real life. The reason she played the character so well is because that's her personality, but amplified for comedy.
Yeah, O'Neill's thoughts on that the feud was over (TV Guide cover that she wasn't asked to be on, she asked him to fight for her to be with them and he didn't) he said he wishes he could go back in time and change that.
@@Timmycoo Amanda Bearse is also gay and apparently Ed made a lot of jokes at her expense back then. He has since admitted that he was probably out of line, but she never really forgave him for it.
This was the golden age of sitcoms and comedy shows. This paired with THE SIMPSONS and IN LIVIN COLOR was the best lineup on FOX. I miss when people weren't made of glass, the world wasn't run by feelings, when TV characters could away with the things we wish we could. Al may not have been the happiest husband and father, but he was a man's man. He provided, didnt fet respect, had hopes and dreams, still had his high school record of four touchdowns in a single game, would inact justice on those who hurt his family even when they didnt respect him, he represented a lot of the struggles our parents may have gone through andnour generstion does today. These shows might have seemed offensive, but they spoke out a lot of societies' bigger issues: low paying jobs, the nuclear family falling apart, the rise in obesity, etc. This is how comedy should be, helping us cope with life's ups and downs by making fun of the issues.
UA-cam doesn't count because most (YT) channels don't have spinless executives who care about bad publicity running those channels. People mean on network (or cable) TV. I don't even think FOX would air this today. Cable channels are a shadow of their selves when they first aired unPC content.
I watched this show faithfully as a kid with my dad! He loved it so let me watch it even think I was probably a lil too young. They always were complaining about being poor and hungry but the house was pretty nice in a good neighborhood, that always confused me back then, lol. They were house poor I guess?! Makes me miss my dad, RIP. Great reaction y'all!! Bundy's rule!!!
I was 20s in the 90s. I was always great with a great comeback. If you walked into it, after watching Al Bundy, I became even better. And I still do it today. and I'm 60. It's priceless to watch people's faces.
Al's backstory is that he was a aspiring sports star in High school with a promised college scholarship, but got injured and the scholarship was pulled, got Peggy (his wife) pregnant, got married and is bitter about his life. And I mean bitter about everything.
Ed O'Neill was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Pittsburgh Steelers in 1969 under rookie head coach Chuck Noll but was cut in training camp, having to compete with fellow rookie defensive lineman Joe Greene and L. C. Greenwood for a roster spot
the guy who played the character, came into the audition playing Al Bundy, the actor didnt even use his name. He came in completely prepared to portray that roll. I think anyone who has ever watched TV has a show that they grew up viewing, and connected with more than any of the others, and MWC was that show for me. One of the original titles for this show before it aired, was "Not the Cosby's", which was rather fitting, as that was the other family show I had around the same time. While being young and brown in South Central, the Cosby show had it's moments, but was just a foreign concept of the daily grind. MWC was how my family was, how we interacted, how we constantly ripped on one another, me and my sister were a few years apart like Kelly and Bud. It was just so much more relatable at the time, and to this day, this is my #1 sitcom, and I grew up with the best TV ever offered. And while Al was savage AF to the bigger ladies, they all mostly gave as good as they got, so it was all in good fun. We could all laugh at each other, and most importantly at ourselves(never take yourself to seriously), something which we could all use more of.
I live in England, so we were a little behind you with this programme. It used to come on our TV around Midnight, so not many people saw it. Ed O'Neill said he based the character of Al Bundy on his uncle. I've seen these clips and episodes countless times and I laugh every time. Classic stuff.
My favorite is when he tells the young girl to look at her mother and sees her future self. And then he says back "try the moon youll weigh less there."
Remember when the world had a sense of humor? Remember when we all could laugh at ourselves? I can and I wouldn’t change those days for these days for anything
Peggy was also in Sons of Anarchy. There's a crossover meme where as her character on Sons of Anarchy she tells her son that Al is his real father. It's funny.
When this show was in its prime, a lot of those full sized ladies were actual comediannes. A great number of the shows were produced, written, and directed by women. It was just a totally different time. When folks had some skin and a real sense of humor. Unlike today, so many folks are sensitive, and easily butt-hurt. I will end this with one of my favorite lines from Al to Peg. Peg: "Did you me miss me hon"? Al: "With every bullet so far".
When Polk High's football God among merely mortal wannabe men spoke, Al spoke for many of us sitting on the bench (couch;), cheering for him in his word war plays against our shared rivals!
Al Bundy, one of the funniest tv dads ever lol. His family drove him crazy, but he would still fight to protect them. Also back when people weren't super sensitive about everything.
My favorite comebacks from the show. "I really thought this mule would look better in white." "I bet that's what her husband said on her wedding day." It's not in thos one but the best fot me is: Peg: "Did you miss me Al?" Al: "With every bullet so far." I've used that so many times.
Fox's Sunday night lineups were the best back in the late 80s - early 90s. Simpsons, Married w/ Children, 21 Jump Street, America's Most Wanted, Gary Shandling & Tracy Ullman shows, etc. They were the first major to have their news at 10pm as opposed to the rest at 11pm. And when there was something newsworthy that all of the other networks were carrying, Fox would just put out a 2-3 hour Cops marathon. They're totally mainstream now, but back then they were pretty cutting edge for television.
What a time to be alive! When we could all just laugh at a funny show without having to worry about being cancelled for it. My step dad still falls asleep watching this show every single night. It's a classic! You guys are awesome as always, love the channel.
The 80's and 90's were the best. Best tv shows, best music, best movies and people never had more freedom than back then. Oh the freedom. How I miss it.

This was one of the shows I grew up watching. My mom would watch it too. That “… my car’s only got a half a tank of gas” always gets me. 😂
Gotta love the classic humor of the old days...
Al Bundy use to have my stomach hurtin from laughing at what he said to some of the people on this show 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Fun Fact: Marcy was the one who wrote most of the jokes. Ed O'Neal/Al Bundy was the perfect person to deliver those lines 😊
Ed O'Neill said he based the character of Al Bundy on his uncle. I've seen these clips and episodes countless times and I laugh every time. Classic stuff.
Back in day. We liked that kind of humor. In the 60s and 70s, men and Women could tell bawdy jokes, it was fun.
I haven't watched this in years, and instant laughter.😂
You should watch the movie "Dutch" staring him. Absolutely hilarious!
My favorite is when he tells the young girl to look at her mother and sees her future self. And then he says back "try the moon youll weigh less there."
Remember when the world had a sense of humor? Remember when we all could laugh at ourselves? I can and I wouldn’t change those days for these days for anything
I used to work in a clothes store when I was in my late teens and lemme tell ya, I used a lot of these 😂 never got written up once
The actor who plays Al Bundy was in a few movies. And the woman who plays Al Bundy's wife , she used to be a singer .
Peggy was also in Sons of Anarchy. There's a crossover meme where as her character on Sons of Anarchy she tells her son that Al is his real father. It's funny.
She still voices Leela on Futurama.
If you've ever watched FUTURAMA, you'll recognise her as the voice for Leela.
"Where are you goin?" Excuse me ma'am, but unlike your mouth, we occasionally close" LMMFAOOOOO
Peggy: “Al, does this dress make me look fat?” Al: “No, it’s the fat that makes you look fat!”
Al Bundy, one of the funniest tv dads ever lol. His family drove him crazy, but he would still fight to protect them. Also back when people weren't super sensitive about everything.
The original writers of the show were Ron Leavitt and Michael G. Moye.
And their initial claim to fame was that they were writers on "The Jeffersons".
"I'd say it to your face but my car only has half a tank of gas." After watching I realized I got it wrong.
Definitely do more Married With Children reactions.
Loved the Bundys 🤣🤣🤣 and NOBODY GOT OFFENDED...PURE FUN...WORDS CANT HURT YOU 🤣🤣
My favorite comebacks from the show.
"I really thought this mule would look better in white." "I bet that's what her husband said on her wedding day."
It's not in thos one but the best fot me is:
Peg: "Did you miss me Al?"
Al: "With every bullet so far."
I've used that so many times.
All hail Al Bundy.
I guarantee there is not a chance a show like this can be produced today. If one were, the streets would burn.
To quote the late Kevin Samuels "Big Shirley"😂
What a time to be alive! When we could all just laugh at a funny show without having to worry about being cancelled for it. My step dad still falls asleep watching this show every single night. It's a classic!
You guys are awesome as always, love the channel.
My mom also watched this every night haha 11pm pst.. I would sneak out of bed and sit on the stairs watching secretly haha
I’m so used to seeing you guys watch horror movies. It’s surreal seeing Asia without a blanket to hide her face. 😂
The 80's and 90's were the best. Best tv shows, best music, best movies and people never had more freedom than back then. Oh the freedom. How I miss it.
And no cellphone spying…
Preach
Agreed on entertainment but what freedom are you missing? Please be specific
"Would That Be The Law Offices Of Haagen And Dazs" is, was and always will be my favourite Al Bundy, shoe store insult!
At 13:29 - I'm guessing you guys haven't seen "Modern Family", after Married with Children ended Ed O'Neill (AL BUNDY) starred as Jay Prittchett on Modern Family for 11 years from 2009 to 2020
Did not know that. I've never seen Modern Family.
Al Bundy at his savage best 🫰😆
These were great, but so was all of his jokes towards Marcy
@@skilz8098 …Oh yes, his oh so classy “chicken” gags were always comical delight 👍😆
Classic show, still watch and crack up from re-runs!!!
Al Bundy a true American classic great video great reaction thank you very much
