For sure an off-flavor we're familiar with, but definitely not the character we were getting in the Mini Donut Beer (if that's why you're mentioning it, that is). Definitely more of a sweet-tart apple cider essense specifically coming from the sugared rim. Very interesting.

How did you go about working with the chocolate and spice elements in the brew?
5 Chocolate Donuts in the mash, tincture of some Woodford reserve bourbon with cacao nibs and vanilla beans after fermentation. @@NorthernBrewerTV

acetaldehyde in beer comes across as green apple taste.
