There was a 72 hour water shutdown in Southern Suburbs in Cape Town from 24 to 26 June 2024. Maintenance - valve replacements. Water tankers supplied residents.
Agree infrastructure needs to be maintained and attended to BUT were the decisions for this project made internally or did Rand Water use consultants. Was a proper analysis/ risk done before undertaking this project? Clearly NOT.
