The people who are rejecting are rejecting from a position of priviledge?
Baba, the people who are rejecting NHI are paying for:
    - Free water for non-taxpayers
    - Free electricity for non-taxpayers
    - Free healthcare for non-taxpayers
    - Free child care grants for non-taxpayers
    - Free RDPs for non-taxpayers
    - Free education for non-taxpayers
    - Free policing for non-taxpayers
    - Free SASSA cash for non-taxpayers
    - Free repair to damaged infrastructure (including cleaning rubbish off the streets after protests)
    - Free school lunches for non-taxpayers' children
    - Subsidized public transport for non-taxpayers
...all these things are being paid for by TAXPAYERS. Those same taxpayers have many things in their lives that they need money for... money they worked for. Every month about 30% of their salary is being taken to be given to people who do not work a single day in their month. People who have children knowing they wont bear the burden. People who have 30 free days every month to live their lives while taxpayers spend 8-12 hour daily toiling and away from their families.
NHI is now going to take 51%, not 30... and charge R1500 extra on top to every taxpayer. VAT is going to increase from 14% to 21%... so everything will be more expensive. How long do you think taxpayers will put up with that nonsense?
At what point is it going to be acceptable for the taxpayer to enjoy his money? If the public sector is failing because of corruption from ANC, who is voting for ANC? Is it not the people who are complaining about poor service delivery?
    Message to non-TAXPAYERS:
You might think this is a good move for you, but all you will achieve is turning South Africa into Zimbabwe.

To be honest man that statement you’re making doesn’t resonate with the poor(the ANC voters). The NHI can’t make the public health sector worse than what is in now. It’s going South for the private sector because the proper service delivery will be weakened but for the public sector it really can’t get any worse. There’s nothing that’s gotten worse by throwing more money at it. The comrades will obviously loot the money and bleed us dry but money that was never going into benefit the ooor anyway changes nothing for them when the ANC loots it🤷🏿‍♂️. The destruction of the private health sector doesn’t affect poor people unfortunately🤷🏿‍♂️

@@Chuhla I agree with his sentiments that we need to wage war against corruption but his theory that us all being in the same boat will cause a change for the better is a pipe dream. Let's take for example how we ALL share in the electricity crisis created by corruption in Eskom. Did all of us being in the same boat help? No! Instead it created a new divide which has led to the rise of those who can afford it, putting in solar systems and installing generators which will eventually leave those who can't afford such things completely in the dark! The voices of the ratepayers associations have already begun to get louder and it may not be long before we see municipalities battling along on whatever scraps the government hands them to supposedly look after the poorer areas, while the ratepayers take control of their own funds and use their own service providers to finally receive all the services their rates are supposed to cover. The poor will always be the ones who suffer because those who can afford it, will continually make moves to find ways to make things work for themselves - that speaks to why there became a big private health sector to begin with. The craziest thing of all is that the poorer people make up the majority of the population, yet they neglect to use their collective power to VOTE for change. The ANC has proven time and time again that they cannot be trusted with the well being of South Africans in any way or form. Until people are willing to accept that, keeping the current ruling party in power will continue to produce the same results and nothing will improve. But hey, let's try the "good story" NHI shoe on while we pretend it's going to be a success.

I pay tax, deducted from my salary in the form of PAYE...lots of it. If the ANC government chooses to squander our taxes through corruption and poor financial management, why should I care about those who can't afford private medical aid? In Britain, everybody pays for the NHS, but those who can afford private healthcare, can belong to a private medical healthcare scheme and get faster service, but will still have a deduction off their salary for public health services, whether they like it or not, so this is nothing new. The difference between RSA and Britain, is that Britain has a massive, employed tax paying base, whereas SA doesn't. Britain and SA's population are the same - 60 million people, Britain has a 5% unemployment rate, what is SA's unemployment percentage? do the math, it's not affordable, even Britain is struggling to keep up with this nationalised healthcare system idea and waiting times can be years for specialised operations. Let's not even start to discuss the issue of lack of professional medical staff and waiting times.

The problem is they cannot and have not been able to fund these projects. We are due millions for months for work done and govt cannot pay. They are also resort to external loans which they cannot pay back. Hospitals or refurbishment we have completed are being run into the ground. There is no capacity of qualified resources to manage, clean organize these health buildings. Govt has no clue on how to manage the health sector, which is highly technical and specialized. Over the past 10 years I've seen the Health department, its finances and management get worse and worse. Medical staff in general on the ground have no heart or ambition for medical care. It's a job to them. This govt is playing with a huge fire....eventually resulting in higher medical costs and lost lives through negligence.

NHI whole we all agree with it before it starts there should have been work done on public sector side first to at least equates it to private sector. Its coming now its gonna want to collapse the working private sector. We should be ensuring that public sector fox it house first. For instance i chose not to drive luxurious car but invested on getting me and my family medical aid whilst paying exhorbitant tax for government to take care of those who cannot afford. But funny, government leaders live better than me.

I am telling you, the next thing they will come after is your retirement contributions, then after that a "luxury" tax on any purchase you make that a so-called "poor household" cannot buy. By the time ANC is done with you your take-home will be 10% of your gross and that 10% that you take home will still pay 21% VAT. Mark my words.

My cousin had a severe accident, with a fracture and dislocation in her left arm, and received poor treatment at Netcare hospital, which was too expensive. We took her to a government hospital, where she received the surgery she needed and i would like to give a shoutout to the doctors and staffs who assisted her there, thank u.

Introducing NHI does not mean we have to collapse the private sector. We have to rectify the rot in the government sector, and sometimes when the government hospitals are overloaded, waiting list can be off-loaded to the private sector.

I think you're looking at this with a shorter vision, even government officials failed to answer when it comes to the finances of this NHI I have no doubt this is a last kick of a dying horse(ANC) otherwise this is a disaster period, investors have started pulling out, shares are dropping from medical schemes, this move is no different from the grant of R350 instead of creating jobs, people will only see this once the damage is done, for the fact illegal immigrants will benefit from the NHI means every single citizen will suffer, wait till the price of food, petrol, taxi fare and all the necessities rapidly increases than you will feel it especially if you do not require medical assistance, you might not see this now but mark my words this is the worst the government has done, its a destructive move
