- My hope is that everyone is well and staying positive. I’m taking some time during this social distancing season, to use up old product and breaking out my mixed media supplies. I’m using 10” square batik fabrics and creating reverse appliqués. Enjoy!

I've done reverse applique, but not four layers. When you took your scissors and started to cut them up, I gasped!! And then I started laughing when you said it will all be okay! So inspiring. Thanks again for brightening up my day.

Hi Julia. I have tried this technique and made coasters. I removed the layers around the outside leaving only the top layer to remove the bulk. The coasters are one of my favourite projects. Thanks for the inspiration and keep safe
Hi Donna, Coasters- what a great idea! I may have to try this one!
Hi Julia - Such a fun way to play with all different kinds of crafty stuff. These are really fun and whimsical looking. You come up with the best surprises in your craft world.
Hope your daughter is staying safe. Nashville has a lot of virus cases. Hope you & hubby are staying safe too. Love & Hugs! 💕🤗🙏🏻
Hi Pam, I hope you are staying safe as well. It's getting old quick! We are all tucked in our house and doing what we are told to do. My daughter is doing OK. There is someone in her apartment building that has tested positive so she hasn't left her apartment! She is working from home and is staying very busy which is a good thing! Have a good weekend. Julia
stitchesbyjulia I’m staying in too and doing what we have been told. It’s scary that someone in her building has it. Glad that she’s staying busy. Hang in there.
Nailing it once again! Love this project💖
Thanks so much 😊

I love, love, love these canvas collages! I am a seamstress and artist and just had to have one! I wanted both, but chose to purchase the one you put sewing pattern pieces on. I am super excited to have something you created! I hope you signed your name on it somewhere. :) Keep up the great video content. You are so gifted.
Thank you so much for your order! I will sign and date for you:)
♥️
I love it when I see you’ve posted a new video, I make myself wait with anticipation to enjoy it when I have time to savour your creativity, I just don’t know where you get your ideas from but they always work and look amazing. Thank you for sharing. X
Hi Julie, Thank you so much your kind words. Most of my ideas come through trial and error. It has taken me a long time, but I finally give myself permission to experiment and play. Thank you so much for watching, Julia
Hi Julia so lovely to see you again. What a fabulous idea I am going to try this on my bags, it looks so much fun and really adds depth and texture. What gorgeous little gifts these would make for family and friends. Believe it or not I have delved into my Christmas stash to make up some little festive things during this time. Your project is just fantastic for using up stash, I have realised I probably have enough stash to last 50 years😳. I’m sure I am not alone. I hope you are all keeping well and safe, it has turned a little chilly here where I live. Sending you lots of love Julia and kindest wishes to everyone here in our wonderful family. Keep safe Everyone. Xxxxxxxxx Dorothy U.K. ❤️😘🙋🏻🌟
Hi Dorothy, It's always so good hearing from you. I am glad you are staying safe and sane:). I am burying myself in my sewing room and creating and film all day, every day. I can't listen to the negative news reports anymore. It is so wonderful that you are getting Christmas projects done! It's no time like the present especially when you are stuck inside! Here in the states we have been asked to keep up the social distancing until April 30. Hopefully it will help and we can have a somewhat normal summer. Keep safe! Julia
stitchesbyjulia Hi Julia like you I am trying to stay away from the news. I was going to Salzburg this coming September with two dear girlfriends but we were all contacted today to say it is cancelled so a bit disappointed but there are more important things going on. My beautiful neighbours across the road have been delivering food to me, both are key workers in the NHS at our local hospital and they are just angels the way they look out for me. We all, across the world, have so many brave and caring people to thank and cherish - they are all keeping our individual nations going. Sending a huge thank to them all, we can never repay you. Keep safe and busy lovely Julia, you are keeping us going too. Sending you big thank you hugs and loves. Xxxxxxxx Dorothy ❤️😘🙋🏻🌟
👏❤️
So cute! Not that I have any of these items except the fabric ( so I can do the tote) but boy are these wonderful! I’m wearing my dragonfly sweatshirt I did from one of your other videos today!
I am so excited that you tried the dragonfly sweatshirt! It makes me happy...Julia
So cute!! Only thing wrong is these videos are too short. I could watch you all day!! Thank you for bringing joy into our homes. Also is there a way you could make an amazon list of your favorite products ?
Hi Maryanne, I will be working on my Amazon store this week. Thank you so much for your encouragement! Julia
Just ordered your canvasses. I would love for you to sign them also.
Thank you so much! I will sign and date for you:)
Question, when the Fabric Fix glue gets gummy, is there a way to thin it down? Mine is such a mess, but I hate to throw it out!
Hi Annette, I don't have any hints for you on this glue. It is messy! But it really sticks, dries clear and dries quick. I really try to close it tight after each use and wipe the nozzle with a scrap after closing. If not, it will ooze out the top- seems to grow LOL. Thanks for watching, Julia
I saw Beryl Taylor use this technique on her quilting blocks .
HI, The reverse appliqué technique has been around. I took a class several years ago at a sewing expo. It is really fun! Thanks for watching.
