How to Roughen the Edges of Your Work in Photoshop [FREE BRUSH PACK]

You've probably noticed that in real life print work is imperfect.
Everything from that tag on your new jeans to the Grayhound bus ticket you saved from that summer trip.
Nothing remains perfect.
Just like quality leather gets more beautiful with age - some printed work becomes more beautiful as time passes.
This is the result of things like (about to get nerdy here):
• Yellowing as the result of oxidation of cellulose content in paper
• Ink smear and distress as a result of humidity on carbon based inks
• How much bending paper can take before breaking (folding endurance)
Each of these elements can result in great looking work.
Unfortunately, most of us don't have the time to sit around and get these results naturally. So I've created a simple tutorial that will help you achieve the effect.

Thank-you so much! I have been pulling my hair out trying to find instructions on how to put edges on just one layer instead of the entire image! I have Edge FX Pro for PS which is amazingly awesome for borders but I just need some way to put edges on elements inside the image and this works!

Cool tutorial but if you follow through on the link for brushes, they harvest your email in exchange but then DONT provide the free brushes. Don't promise and then not deliver, particularly if you're getting my email address.

To clean up where a brush effect has overlapped or messed up a previous brush effect, instead of white-painting on the mask use the history brush to spot-return it to an earlier state before the later effect was applied.
