No it’s all the students and all the other students were following the rules, I see no other caps decorated in the video, she isn’t special, if she wanted to decorate her cap and wear it then she can memorialize it in a grad photo. But rules are rules.

Eagle feathers are not only spiritually and culturally symbolic, they come from birds that are federally protected and as such the feathers have to be gathered through ethical means and are have a high monetary value. It says a lot that the cap was intentionally damaged but that the eagle feather was taken.
My very first thought. They know eagle feathers are valuable.

On a basic human level how could you do that to someone? It's supposed to be one of the best days of her life and they ruined it for her.
At my college, you are allowed to decorate your cap any way your heart desires. The rules are no vulger language or sexually explicit material. Poor graduate, I'm sorry and the cap is beautiful.

Graduation has become a sick joke, with almost every student looking to don some ethnic, native, gender, sexual orientation, whatever alterations to academic regalia. Gone are the days when graduation was a serious event----and everyone was dressed in a gown and mortar board----with no embellishments. This way, everyone is equal----and the circus that is graduation today could be avoided.

I kind of understand both sides; this is a symbolic occasion to represents singularity, and to be unified as equals along with you fellow students and peers as a class.
