I used to get up at 6:00 a.m. to make sure I saw the start of the race. Even if it started to suck after two laps, seeing the start was an absolute must! Nice layout.
Thank you! Haha same. Growing up my father would always force me to get up no matter the time. They could be racing in Australia (2am start my time) or in Brazil...didn’t matter. Now it’s been programmed into me and I can’t miss the start at the very least.
😂 fair enough. Beer does tend to make things better. I’m a firm believer that even tho it’s 10am where you are, it’s beer-o’clock somewhere right? Cheers! 🍻
Wow! I really like your video, excellent video work! perfect background music. I also have evolved to 1/32nd Carrera digital, I'll have my starter set soon then adding former analog track. Made a draft of my future layout.
hi, I bought a carrera digital dtm set. The cars are alway sliding of thrack or powerslides. Are the f1 cars glued to the track like the real ones or are they flying of the track too? Even on the 2 LED setting of the terminal the cars fly away......
Hi, yeah the DTMs are a handful, some upgraded tires would help with those but yes the back end on those are happy to say the least. The newest F1s I find have the most grip of any of the stock Carrera cars. It would be the F1s and the Porsche 917Ks I find have the best grip out of the box.
@@MPSlotCar I see! Yea they are toughe to handle. So can you show me a set that includes the newest f1 cars? And I saw there are neodym magnets on ebay to uprage. I think they will help. Or do you have any experience with the magnets?
It’s hard to find F1 sets now in 1/32. Carrera haven’t made one in a few years. You can find them in 1/43 Carrera GO. For single f1 cars you can still find them on AliExpress. I’ve ordered a bunch from there. Hopfully Carrera brings back some 132 F1s 🤞🏼
Late to the party, that's a really well thought through track plan for the space and effective use of a typically available bedroom space. I like it. It is from an extant track plan, or did you design it yourself? Can you link to or do you have it available as a track plan? Cheers.
Hi, thanks! I started with the F1 2010 champions set that came with 3 cars. Had the set sitting for a while and during being out of work during covid-19 I dusted it off, bought some extra track and went nuts haha.
What Carrera set did you start with what did you add? I would love to copy your layout EXACTLY because I think you have the best layout vs space that I have seen. Also, how did you "individually program" the cars to run/race each other? This is GREAT!! - Thank you for sharing.
Hi, thank you! And thanks for watching! I started out with an older F1 Champions set from around 2011-2012 that I had. I can send you over the parts list and track layout if you’d like, just toss me an email and I can get those out to you! Mp.slotcarspace@gmail.com You can program “Ghost cars” via the Control Unit.
Thank you! A new Digital 132 scale set would typically run anywhere between $450-650 depending on the set, (track size... and some sets come with either 2 or 3 cars & controllers) also it’s good to look for sets that come with wireless controllers and 2 lane changers...best bang for your buck. Best thing would be to look up a few websites that sell Carrera sets and you can start looking at what suits your needs and budget. The layout in my video is a set plus I bought some extra track pieces to fully complete it. Hope this is able to help steer you in the right direction. Cheers and thanks for watching!
Hi Mauricio, yes these are 1:32 scale. They’re a little harder to find now as they haven’t produced them in a few years but you may get lucky if you check AliExpress , they sometimes have stock
Hey! I've looked at quite a lot of these tracks on youtube, but always wondered where I can get one. Where did you get yours? And did the cars come with it, or did you buy them yourself?
Hi, this track is a set plus extra track that I’ve bought to make this layout. A typical set will come with 2-3 cars. It’s a little difficult to find F1 sets for this year as Carrera didn’t release any new F1s for 2021, hopefully they do for 2022 🤞🏼 As for buying a set, you’d have to search if there’s maybe a hobby shop near you that would carry Carrera Slot cars or any other brand that you may be interested in. If that fails their are many online stores to choose from. To list a few: ElectricDreams.com, Slotcarmancave.com , LEBhobbies.com, SundaySlotcars, Carreraslots.com slotcarcorner.com
You just have to keep a look out for them, or checkout some online stores. I got mine from local hobby shops but quantities are always low and limited.
They’re a little hard to come by these days as Carrera hasn’t made them in a few years. Your best bet would be to check AliExpress. They pop up on there from time to time and that’s where I got one of mine.
@@douglasribeiro1861 yeah I was skeptical at first too haha. So far so good, I ordered the F1 and some initial D cars from them with so issues. Shipping may take a little while but it arrived eventually
They actually do pretty good. The front wings come off fairly easy on some of them so to avid hassle I just run them without the front wings. But for the ones that they’re on tight, you can run with them on and if you happen to hit the barriers, another car or whatever the case is they’ll just pop off without causing any damage for the most part. My original set was a 2010 F1 set with 3 cars. I put a lot of hours on them before parking the set until being revived this year. I still have all 3 and they all still run fine. The mirrors are completely broken off on two of them but the newer F1s have removable mirrors now so that problem is solved. All in all they can take a beating for looking so fragile, and they’re quick plus handle very well!
@@MPSlotCar thx , that is good to know, I just bought a discontinued F1 champions, mainly for the single L/R &R/L lane changer plus it comes with that crossover bridge , I am currently building a combination "O" gauge lionel and Carrera slot layout, I have posts on my 1/32 group on FB , will post on my Channel when completed, 4 ft x42 feet , in a finished attic
Hi Ken, I built it using 2x4 and 1/2 plywood up top. I made it in 3 individual 4ft x 6ft tables to get my 12 x 6 total. I just made it that way to make it easy to manoeuvre and take down/change or add to the layout.
@@MPSlotCar hi Mass that’s great to hear as I was looking at doing 3 tables 6ft x 4ft so I can also have different sizes u til I decide on what layout fits best are the legs 4x2 as well?
@@kenwatson4890 no worries! The legs I used 2x4, 2 in each corner making an L shape, and also added 2x4 joining corner to corner for some added support...so 12 pieces for each individual table, and I used those Felt adhesives used on chairs/tables for the bottom. There’s many other ways you can make the legs, I just happened to have a bunch of 2x4 laying around so decided to use them up. Yeah everyone has their own preference on height. I made my table just over 3 ft tall at 38 from the floor. Hope this helps.
