Hello from Bristol, you’re gonna love the crew cab. Im on my 3rd one I wouldn’t have it any other way. One ford and 2 rams and no issues with any of them, just what was available at the time. We hardly got any rain from the storm, a little windy but not bad at all. Glad ya got more bales than last time in that field, I remember that video. Another super enjoyable video Dennis. Thanks much
Oh c'mon Dennis.....a Dodge???......Really??? LOL Just kidding man, best of luck with it, Its sharp looking. Hope the weather works out for you for the rest of your hay season.
Nice Truck just keep in mind in the future that as a New Holland Customer you can get some incentives on new rams and even in the color to match those blue tractors lol and Awesome you have a TC55 i have the Red Brother Farmall 55
+AJ. I seen that they had the harvest edition Rams out now. This truck came up used and was like new so that's basically why I ended up with it, used flatbed trucks that aren't wore slam out are few and far in between. Lol
Nice looking truck. I like the flatbed & your ideas you have planned for it. Thanks for the ride alongs. Sounds like the hay did pretty good over all. Stay safe.
+crslyrn. I was pleased with the hay this go round. Stay tuned I got more coming on the truck I have the air compressor mounted and more work lights on it now.
Well, I must have missed this one balling hay. Enjoyed your explanations of the operation of being hay. Keep it up. I c u get lots of rain where u r. I am in Denver now, and March in Louisiana back on the farm. Yellow corn this year. Later.
I used to tow with a 5.9 Cummins it was the best all-around pulling truck I've had other than the brakes seem to be a little lacking always seem like that old truck could pull more than it would stop my f super duty is the slowest but the best handling
A dodge!?! What the heck!?! Lol you will like having a crew cab for your work truck though, hopefully it works out for you! Isn't that just the darnedest thing, all you need and pray for is rain then you get so much you pray for the opposite. Haha have a good one!
I live in Lewisburg where the WV state fair is held. I probly know the guy who traded the truck in. Looks like a nice truck. Glad to see you stepped up to a dodge. Lol
+B Jenkins. The Ford has a super chip in it set on the towing setting, it always done pretty good, the ram still has a little more though. Going down hill with the exhaust brake is a major improvement. We live on a mountain and we have to go down a 9 percent grade for 4 miles to get to martinsville where most of our jobs are. Of course we are always hualing equipment up and down that mountain it's nice to have the peace of mind of the exhaust brake.
Like you, we've had plenty if sun, but shorter daylight days and lots of dew and even some fog. Very difficult to dry hay. We have had a buffered propionic acid applicator on our square baler, but never used it until this past weekend. Onboard moisture readings via out Agtronix BH-2 meter were running 20-25%, including preservative and some pretty dense square bales. Checked the bales a couple days later and they are stone cold. Again, first time we've used it - simply amazing. IMHO a game changer for our haying here in the VA mountains where high humidity can and is a problem through the summer and into fall. The vinegar smell has subsided a goodly bit too. I bought the New Holland Crop Care (I think is the name) by Harvestec. Buffered propionic acid with a ph of water is not supposed to rust the baler and I've read the same too on various forums. Some horse customers don't care for the stuff, but I don't think that will be a problem for us. Question is - have you tried buffered propionic acid hay preservative? You've got my contact info, I'd be glad to share what I think I know if interested.
I think I paid $200 for 15 gallons, which is something like 120 lbs of preservative. Shipping was free to the dealer - some dealers charge shipping. Boone Tractor in Salem. Most use 4 lbs per ton and is pretty normal, but the hay we baled last week got 8 lbs per ton based on the higher humidity. I think it goes a long way and my feeling is worse case, 25 cents to the cost of a bale to save an otherwise higher priced bale (square), it's worth the expense. I can explain buffered propionic acid, can't explain away dust or mold. I don't anticipate customer issues as all I'm doing is ensuring quality hay - but YMMV. I should think you could fab one quickly from a 15 gal ATV sprayer from TSC. I'll give you a gallon or two of preservative if you want to try it on a few bales - you got my number, just shoot me a text.
An old fashioned alternative we used to use was a scattering of crumbed rock salt on a layer of bales as we built the stack. We used a 2 gallon bucket of salt on about a 15ft x 30ft stack per layer. It seemed to work well and if any remains the animals love the salt.
Made a video of our preservative applicator (with regards to my other replies) showing how I mounted it, etc. Might give you some ideas if you ever go the preservative route to counter high humidity hay. Hope this helps - take care. ua-cam.com/video/Xl9uV9EAKl4/v-deo.html
Lar-A-me. Not La-ray-me. Congrats on the new truck... we've got a '16 Ram 4500 with a Hydra bed, 4 door, and it's a Laramie pkg and it's been awesome so far other than fuel mileage sucks
Nice truck sir. WV state fair is a awesome place to visit. How many acres of hay do you make a year ? You seem to be a busy man with farming and Construction Company. We make about 600-700 acres.
Nice service truck... except it's not a FORD LOL Up here we didn't get much rain from Irma, and this last week has been sorta dry but we've had some foggy dewy mornings that held on till noon or so. This week and on looks good and dry which is good for us... harvest season. Just pulled a 12 hour day yesterday on two blocks of grapes, yield was about 5 tons shorter than expected though which made for a couple unhappy buyers. (one guy got all he wanted, but our other good customer got screwed sorta, the others were just a little short). Another big pick coming next week and then we will be about 2/3's done. It's the best and worst time of year. Too much work, but it's why we're out here.
+Atoyota. My brother inlaw just did his grape harvest, he is the vineyard keeper for Chateau Morrisette winery. He said they had they had the biggest harvest they have ever had. I think he said 5 ton per acre.
DLH Farms we just pulled about 6 acres worth of petite manseng, small grape variety typically loose clustered. Not a huge yield per acre but they did pack them heavy. We still have merlot seyrah cab sav and franc plus petite Verdot to pick. Overall yield will vary with variety but disease and other ailments aren't a problem, all the fruit is good. Raccoons hit some seyrah but not too bad. We should have an excellent year also with about 10 acres of 2nd year vines coming online. We are one of the largest independents in VA and have a rep for quality fruit. Williams Gap in Round Hill up here in Loudon. Don't make wine yet, maybe one day.
DLH Farms oh one other variety I forgot Tanat... popular grape also About 60 acres cultivated all told, with field prep going on for more in years to come.
+Atoyota. I know it's a while lot of work, my brother in law has been hiring a guy with a mechanical harvester the last 3 or 4 years, I was going to try and get some video footage of it but it didn't work out.
You miss your T5 aren't you..... how many square bales are fitting in one round bale? what kind off moisture meter do you use? Nice truck you have bought.
+Eric Jansen. Yes Im missing my T5, especially when I started loading the square hay I missed having loader suspension and the electronic joystick. It takes approximately 20 square bales to make one of my 4x5 round bales. I think my moisture meter is made by Agtronics, it says New Holland on it but they didn't make it. They make a couple different ones, mine has the duel sensor pads on it.
Ok thanks i didn't know them, in my neighborhood (Netherlands) they don't make hay bales they rap them in plastic and so they don't have to be that dry....
You got my dream truck lol I got a question the Kuhn accumulater how does it do on rough steep ground does it get top heavy or have any issues also how is it on road travel? We picked up more ground for next year so I gotta get a pull behind accumulator an we've been looking at these an I was wondering what your thoughts on it are
+Bagwell Farms. It does pretty good, everything I have is rough and steep, sometime it will mess up a pack because of steep ground, best thing to do is just keep baling and fix it when your getting the packs up. It's not really a big deal. With an inline baler it's no problem to pull down the road. I wouldn't trade mine for any other brand.
DLH Farms thank ya buddy if I can find one used will probably be getting one I wanted to ask you because I know your land is like ours an I knew you would tell me the truth lol
Dang those new 6.7 Cummins are real crapolla....youll have to delete and program it for it to run worth a crap.....the 6.7 Ford is the best consumer diesel ever built....love the videos but dam you dropped the ball...lol
+Daniel Thomason. Lol your funny! I actually have a 2011 F250 Ford with a 6.7. It does have good power but I'm always worrying about when the ceramic bearing in the turbo is going to go out. Or when a little bit of water is going to destroy my $10,000 fuel system. I've had 3 trucks with the 6.7 Cummins with no problems. Also when we're talking cab and chassis trucks like this one is, the compatible Ford cab and chassis has the same torque rating and only 25 more hp. Also the cab and chassis Ford trucks are known to have valve breakage problems and turbo problems. So who dropped the ball? Probably Ford! Don't get me wrong I'm a Ford guy, but I also live in reality.
Yeah the 2011 Ford was only bad year...the dodge is ok but really even the dodge guys will tell you to delete it and put a mild tune on it or the power nd fuel mileage or really bad....and be easy on the tranny unless you have it beefed up...but good luck and keep the videos coming
+Daniel Thomason. I probably will do all that once the warranty is out on the truck, if it last that long. Lol. It does have the heavy duty Aisin transmission.
Check out the real story of owning a 2015 4608 Massey Ferguson from new and the lethal defects that it has, and the long list on known Defects that this series of Tractor has, I would never purchase such an unsafe Product ever again, what makes it worse to own this product is none of the other manufacturers will trade it because they already know the Faults and Defects in these Tractors. Check out the video's on it.
I'm sure you've may have said before but I of course missed it. I take it you are in NC? Just were abouts you located? I live down here just south of Winston-Salem in Davidson Co.
+gerald harbin. It has a gear driven double balancer in the bottom on the engine and both bearings came on one of the balancer shafts. Machine work caused one of the oil galleys to get blocked and the bearings lost oil.
+Pete P. I have only ran one of those for just a couple minutes, it seemed like a good machine it was fast, I can't really give you a definite answer with so little experience with it.
+Pete P. I have a video of me running it, dont remember the name of the video but it was when I was spreading lime with and reviewing a 4610 Massey Ferguson
+Dwight Jones. Yes sir I'm doing fine, had to take a break from making videos and spend some time with the family. I have some videos waiting to be edited and hope I can find some time to upload soon.
Good idea NOT to buy a NEW truck. As soon as you drive a new vehicle off the dealer's lot you have lost $8,000.00 due to the first year's depreciation...........Not a Ford......Shame on you! :>)
Thanks much
+warren patton. Thanks Warren! Always good to hear from my neighbor. Good to know you didn't have trouble with the Rams.
Dodge = To avoid; Stay away from......lol. Good looking truck!!
+Ron Vanover. I guess that's why they changed the name to Ram! Lol
Beautiful truck! I would definitely enjoy being the proud owner of that unit. Nick, North West farmer
+Nick Lambing. Thanks Nick! It is sharp, hard to keep clean, but very sharp when it is.
nice to see the 6640 doing a bit for a change.. nice truck keep the vids coming
+orkid knog. Yeah, and it did a good job too!
Enjoy your videos
+Dean Brown. Thanks!
Nice looking truck not a bad hay count. Glad the hurricane didn't get to bad in your area.keep up the great video's
+Kenny Mysak. Thanks Kenny!
Oh c'mon Dennis.....a Dodge???......Really??? LOL Just kidding man, best of luck with it, Its sharp looking. Hope the weather works out for you for the rest of your hay season.
+Matt Hannigan. Lol! Thanks Matt.

Great video nice truck
+skoalring83
+skoalring83. Thanks!
Congrats on the new truck! I really like the bed configuration. Best of luck with the weather and getting everything done!
+Denny's Country Life. Thanks! Yep nothing like playing the weather game. Lol
I really enjoy this channel! Please keep the videos going and awesome content.
+Ryan349. Thanks Ryan, really busy right now but will be back with some videos soon.
Well, I must have missed this one balling hay. Enjoyed your explanations of the operation of being hay. Keep it up. I c u get lots of rain where u r. I am in Denver now, and March in Louisiana back on the farm. Yellow corn this year. Later.
+Ronald Stephens Thanks for watching!
God bless you and yours
+Dwight Jones. Thank you! Same to you!
I have an air compressor on my truck, and it sure is nice when your out in a field to blow the screens and condensers out.
+Ronnie Rivera. Yep that's one of the biggest reasons I want one, and to be able to run an air wrench.
Well I guessed wrong. Nice truck, that bed looks great 👍
+Guy in WY. Yep! No prize for you. Lol.
I used to tow with a 5.9 Cummins it was the best all-around pulling truck I've had other than the brakes seem to be a little lacking always seem like that old truck could pull more than it would stop my f super duty is the slowest but the best handling
+Rusty Stuff. Those 5.9 are good engines!
That's a sharp truck, its been hard to get hay up here in Tn. all year long I about to get done with mine.
+joe tiller. I hope we can all get done before to much longer, looks like more good weather is on the way!
A dodge!?! What the heck!?! Lol you will like having a crew cab for your work truck though, hopefully it works out for you! Isn't that just the darnedest thing, all you need and pray for is rain then you get so much you pray for the opposite. Haha have a good one!
+Joel Ground. I know it's crazy! Lol. I already like having the extra cab.
Nice truck. I like that body.
+Chuck Stevenson. That's my signature truck bed. Lol
great truck, same here, ford f550 7.3, dodge 2500 5.9 cummins 6 speed my favorite!
+Larry Hottle. Cool! So far I'm really liking it.
I live in Lewisburg where the WV state fair is held. I probly know the guy who traded the truck in. Looks like a nice truck. Glad to see you stepped up to a dodge. Lol
Would have been cool if I would have saw you at the fair lol
+Branch Boyz Customz. Yeah! There was one guy that recognized me while I was there.
Nice new work truck! Let us know the pulling difference compared to your Ford.
Nice looking truck. My last 3 trucks have been dodges.
+Tim Mattison. I've never been a big Dodge fan so I like to call it a Ram. Lol! So far I really like it though, love the exhaust brake.

+Drew w. Well excuse me. Fuel mileage is about 12-13 on my trips to work so far. My ford 7.3 got 13-14.
now thats a dam nice truck
+Captain farm man. Yes it is! Thanks!
cool truck
+FixinThatUp. Thanks!
nice truck dont rip the toolbox off with the trailer
+Alvin Roundy. It can happen if you get in a bad place.
Nice truck sir. WV state fair is a awesome place to visit. How many acres of hay do you make a year ? You seem to be a busy man with farming and Construction Company. We make about 600-700 acres.
+Sacred Cross Cattle co. I do about 100 acres twice a year and a 10 acre alfalfa field 4 times a year.
What kind of camera do you use?
Nice truck. I've had all 3 of the diesels. All good motors. The straight 6 is pretty hard to beat.
+HillDrop Cotton. I use a GoPro hero 4 silver. I've had a 3 diesels also!
Good deal. Keep them videos coming!
Nothing wrong with six in a row when you tow they say when you have 8 in a V the repair bill will kick you where you pee
+Rusty Stuff lol! Good one!

+Slim ok. Ok I will try to do that sometime, it's not hard.
i have never owned one but i was told the frames rust out and trans troubles unless you get the Allison
transmission i dont know
+jeffrey weatherwax. Yeah maybe 25 years ago.
Haha! Welcome to the dodge owners club. Cummins won't disappoint!
+PA Farms. I hope your right!
Dang those new 6.7 Cummins are real crapolla....youll have to delete and program it for it to run worth a crap.....the 6.7 Ford is the best consumer diesel ever built....love the videos but dam you dropped the ball...lol

Nice truck! I'm a Mopar fan myself. As big a New Holland fan as you are what else would you get? Both owned by the same company. haha
+ahineman123. Yeah I know it! Lol. I still like my Fords though, but I'm going to give this thing a try.
We have ah new holland 8340 125 hp whe do ala de round baling whit and its krone comprima baller wrapper combination
Where are you located - if possible - is that a 4x4 - I would imagine so
+Donald Ellett. I'm in Patrick county VA, yes it's a 4wd wouldn't have nothing else.
About 90 here today ! And tommorow!
+Muddy Springs. Yeah it was plenty hot today here too!
I'm sure you've may have said before but I of course missed it. I take it you are in NC? Just were abouts you located? I live down here just south of Winston-Salem in Davidson Co.
+tarfoot. I'm in Meadows of Dan Va, check it out on maps. I can drive to Mt. Airy NC. in 40 min.
Yep know where that is, right close to the Blue Ridge Parkway. Been to Mabry Mills several times.
+tarfoot. Yep! That's about 2 miles from me.
With it getting colder time to start the firewood videos again lol
+schultzy415. I've already been selling quite a bit of firewood.
Hard to hear you when you've got the camera facing you. The mic must be on the back?
Congratulations on being a dodge owner
👍
What happened to the t5 ? I hate it broke down
+gerald harbin. It has a gear driven double balancer in the bottom on the engine and both bearings came on one of the balancer shafts. Machine work caused one of the oil galleys to get blocked and the bearings lost oil.
Now u got a turck bow
+Chris Warren. Lol! Time will tell.
and dodge just recalled 500,000 HD trucks
+Noah Stoddert. You do know every manufacturer has recalls? I have taken my 2011 Ford F250 back for several.
Nice truck. Are you selling the Ford now?
+Forreo Farms. No it's going to stick around for a while but not have to work as hard.
Would you buy a new 200 series ssl, why or why not ?
DLH Farms ok great I’ll find it and watch thanks for the reply!
Dodge is the best
+keith hylton. Maybe
At least you didn't go with a Chevy thank God lol
Haha
Ok was just wondering
+Dwight Jones. Yeah if staying up most of the night making videos didn't kill me, my wife was going too! Lol
What state do you live in.
+dirt bike rider a. Va.
DLH Farms we live on the nc and va line we do a lot of hay to
+dirt bike rider a. Cool deal!
Are you ok we haven't heard from you
+Dwight Jones. Yes sir I'm doing fine, had to take a break from making videos and spend some time with the family. I have some videos waiting to be edited and hope I can find some time to upload soon.
dodge Wait... Say What? I might own a 1947 Dodge Power Wagon
Pretty good truck so far.
If u cant doge it ram it
+Chris Warren. Speaking of that I really want to get a grill guard! Lol
That would be nice doge are the way to go on a truck
Good idea NOT to buy a NEW truck. As soon as you drive a new vehicle off the dealer's lot you have lost $8,000.00 due to the first year's depreciation...........Not a Ford......Shame on you! :>)
It wasn't a new truck
@@DLHFarms I know, I saw that in the video. I was applauding your good sense!
