I used to listen to this song a LOT while driving around in my truck in my late teens/early 20's.. Which wasn't too long ago, I guess. Lol About to turn 31.
But I felt like a dinosaur, even in my early 20's.

Thank you for doing this for me. Yes, it’s a reflection of my life at one point. I never thought I would outlive any of my children. With everything I’ve done wrong, I shouldn’t still be here. The connection is simply that I’m a Dinosaur. Sometimes what comes along with that is losses and pain. I’ll never be whole again, but for some reason I’m still here. Give us our hats, excuse me man but where’s the door in my mind is my way of saying I would love to go home one of these days and see my son again. I’m probably not making much sense, it’s just hard to explain. I do thank you for playing it on your channel for me. Much appreciated Don. I hope you read this and maybe you’ll get a better understanding of why I requested it.

Good Morning Don, This is one of my favorites from Bocephus. A song that is very relatable as one grows older and sees all the changes around him. I don't believe the band reference was specific, just general to demonstrate the changes musically. First and foremost sorry for your loss Travis but thanks for a great request. Thank youy Son for the reaction and R.I.P. Loretta Lynn you were truly a legendary person and performer.---#UTRCM

Don you said it best -- it's a great song. I certainly relate to it now --- I often find myself saying what happened to the great ... that used to be here? Color me dinosaur indeed. Travis I'm sorry for your loss, but thanks for a great request. I'm going to join Mike in offering an RIP to Loretta, what an absolutely terrific performer and person to have graced us on this earth. Thanks again Don for a great reaction!

Absolutely love this. My fav song of Hanks. I was living in Dallas when it came out and we would go to the Longhorn Ballroom. I often wondered what it would looked like as a yuppie place.

I am very familiar with this song. I very much relate to it. In fact I was in treatment for drug addiction (meth for 27 yrs) and I'm now 46 yrs old & it all kinda got summed up in this song & this song is the song I used while in treatment to describe my drug filled life up to that point. It wasn't always bad like it's made out to be. It's a life. It's not a traditional mainstream life but it's a hell of a life! I have memories, good as well as bad. And the people that I interacted with.... there is all kinds. But when I was in treatment at my age I could see the change. The age of the people involved became younger & younger. I eventually got referred to as one of the old guys from way back. Things changed also as far as what's exceptable or the norm in that world & I could see that I started to not fit in anymore. I grew out of it or it grew out of me? But it wasn't like it used to be. I didn't have to hate it but it was time for me to turn the page & move onto a new chapter in my life. I am a dinosaur.

This song makes much more sense now then back then. Hell, we are all dinosaurs in this day and age with what's going on in this crazy word. But, everything will change soon, Jesus will settle the score and take over soon I hope.

@Jay Schults I do the recordings and editing weeks in advance of the posting, and with my schedule it's difficult on the spur-of-the-moment to find the 90 minutes or so that it takes to do a reaction. I'll get to another one of Loretta's when I have that time.

Man you don't know nothing. He is talking about being so old he don't like the new things in the clubs, he likes the old ways, the joints not the uptown clubs with all the weird people, flashing lights, etc.
