i'm gonna be honest, yes the game is set in vice city, but something about the game doesn't give me that classic M-Rated GTA Game like the other games did, it feels like its almost not directed towards players like me, it feels directed towards Hipsters Todays generation of Fans, Like where's the drugs, where's the heists, Social Media? like what?, 10 years of hype, 10 years of leaks, and this is what we get? I'm sorry if i'm negative, but i expected that classic In your face GTA Vibe From This. And GTA VI how lazy why not call it GTA VICE. but again yea its set in vice city but it doesn't feel like a GTA Game Also for people crying about the release date BE HAPPY THE GAME IS COMING OUT AT ALL

Just read Take2's statement on the game where they explained the setting a bit more. It's not just Vice City. It's set in the STATE of Leonida, which Vice City is a part of. Lots of swamp, lots of countryside, you have vice city, the city of Port Gelhorn, you have mountains somewhere in the state, and overall there's a lot of diversity from the look of things. They went the San Andreas route of having an entire state by the look of things!
I'm surprised they didn't just have a fictional city in the state of Florida. That's how it was in the 3D Universe, and Florida itself has been mentioned by characters in the HD Universe. Two examples being one of Hossan's email and Niko's sarcastic reply to Eddie Low, both in GTA IV of course.

Dang man, I grew up in Florida and miss hanging out on the streets with friends at like 11 at night. Whenever you walked out of the house a wave of heat would hit you and then a nice breeze, I cant even describe it but the smell in the air and the vibe at night time gave me some of the best memories I own. Sadly I moved away to North Carolina in 2018 but this genuinely takes me back, I cant wait for the memories this game will bring.

Like the girl hanging out of the top of the convertible, that building with the lights in that pattern is really there. Ocean Drive in South Beach looks exact. The suburbs really do look just like this, stucco walled houses and lots of yard space. The island in the middle of Biscayne Bay is in the game as well, which irl is full of duplexes and vacation homes. Even the fashion is incredibly true to life. Very accurate.
Judging from the fact Lucia is shown coming out of jail, I'm guessing she's going to be the main driving force influencing Jason into a downwards spiral of more crime
I gotta say I love all the varieties in body types they've shown, hopefully they carry it over to the online so I can finally play as a critter that looks like me.
That’s the problem for me. They had plenty of variety in body types in GTA V as well, but it just doesn’t carry over into online because they’re too lazy to design clothes for all sizes I guess. I’m honestly just not going to play online if they don’t have better character customization.
My first thoughts: Fantastic visual fidelity - you can definitely see RDR2's volumetric lighting at play - but we're yet to see what the story is like, but you can definitely see the tone is more like GTA5 and fully playing into the real life craziness of Florida. I just hope they won't overdo the social media posting aspect, because it's giving me bad Saints Row 2022 vibes. Also, in line with the Florida man meme, it would be cool if they included a random encounter where you can randomly come across a man on the hood of a truck while driving on the highway in reference to the video that where it happened, kinda like how "Scooter Brother" was a reference to a player made clip in GTA 4.
This is actually a good gathering of thoughts here, i like how with the social media part you aren't fully negative, just say that you are concerned if they overdo it, it gotta be a self contained part of the game and likely optional, for the people who aren't into social media even in the modern day.

I honestly think both protagonists will betray each other at some point in the story then in the end, you'll have the option to either forgive or kill one of them.
I feel like the first trailer showed Vice City from Lucia’s POV. A world full of temporary pleasures and degeneracy. My theory is that the second trailer will show more about Jason’s POV and it will probably be more action packed
Obviously we're all excited to go back to Vice City, but the rural Florida vibes have me hyped. Gator in the gas station, mudding, and general backwoods hooliganery.
Another cool detail I noticed is Lucia is right-handed while Jason is left handed, giving them a very cool couple synergy. This is also probably why in the thumbnail Lucia is on the right and Jason is on the left. The last scene reminds me of how the Avenged Sevenfold guitarists would stand together on the stage.
There were three things that stood out to me in the trailer. Number one, on the beach it looked like NPCs were backing a Jet Ski trailer into the water it would be interesting if that was something that was scripted into the game. Number two, that mud scene looked interesting it would be cool if they had some kind of mud physics in the game. And number three that four-door Sabre looking good😂😂.

Looks like law enforcement have been significantly change in GTA VI. Just in this trailer, we can see a slicktop state trooper gauntlet, some vice city county sheriff cars, some white miami dade cruisers (guessing vice city dade in the game) and a car similar to the leaked footage from a few months ago (port gellhorn??). I assume we will also get fib, noose and national guards too. I really hope the physics of this new game will be back to realism like in GTA iv.

I can't even begin to describe how excited I am about this game; the Grand Theft Auto series really shaped my early years. My anticipation is sky high for what Rockstar has in store for us, and I'm eager to find out.
Knowing rockstar and annoying the anticipation of this game and how many people are anticipating and have been waiting they’re not going to release it in 2025. They’re probably going to release it early but it’s just like the thing that saints Row did when they don’t really let you know the release date.

I think what we got in the trailer is the first Jason and Lucia's job after which the whole "promise" scene happens where they fall in love, because the background reminds me of a motel.
So, looks like Leonida is what they're calling Florida in the HD universe. 5:39 - that looks like Lucia and Jason, judging by her behavior, this might be shortly after she got out of prison 6:07 - so that's their version of Ocean Drive, or "Ocean Beach" as it was in Vice City. Look at that, Ocean View hotel is back 7:00 - that woman's movement looks oddly robotic... 12:30 - looks like some kind of a 4-door version of the Sabre. The tail lights definitely resemble the sabre

The fact they used the late, great Tom Petty (born in Gainesville, FL) in the drop trailer gave me a lot of hope is a kinda dumb way, at least for the soundtrack! I didn't care too much for V's radio choices, especially compared to VC, SA, or IV, and played my own music 99.8% of the time I played the game. It all looks amazing, though, I wasnt worried about that, regardles sof the R* drama post-RDR2 release. I'm super hyped. The RDR-style wildlife, the fan boats, and the massive, diverse beach scene was probably my fav glimpses in the trailer. The crowds! Even if you take away the size, theyre such diverse-looking characters and NPCs! Love the social-media lens of the trailer, very GTA and very FL

It's Leonida (Florida), a state not just Vice and some countryside. From the Take-Two press release. Hopefully the fact that they emphasized that it's a state and Vice is just a part of it means that we do get more than one city and it's not just Vice and then mostly empty countryside like GTA V's map was with Los Santos and then Blaine County. But I knew they would just go with VI instead of "Vice" or "Vice City 2" like some people thought, because they leaks and some rumors suggested that the map was going to be more Florida based and not just Vice City with some country spots here and there.
What’s wild is that GTA 5 lasted thru three different console generations. Whereas during 2001-2004 we got three different games in three different settings. I miss those times

I feel like the first trailer showed Vice City from Lucia’s POV. A world full of temporary pleasures and degeneracy. My theory is that the second trailer will show more about Jason’s POV and it will probably be more action packed

Another cool detail I noticed is Lucia is right-handed while Jason is left handed, giving them a very cool couple synergy. This is also probably why in the thumbnail Lucia is on the right and Jason is on the left. The last scene reminds me of how the Avenged Sevenfold guitarists would stand together on the stage.

There were three things that stood out to me in the trailer. Number one, on the beach it looked like NPCs were backing a Jet Ski trailer into the water it would be interesting if that was something that was scripted into the game. Number two, that mud scene looked interesting it would be cool if they had some kind of mud physics in the game. And number three that four-door Sabre looking good😂😂.

Looks like law enforcement have been significantly change in GTA VI. Just in this trailer, we can see a slicktop state trooper gauntlet, some vice city county sheriff cars, some white miami dade cruisers (guessing vice city dade in the game) and a car similar to the leaked footage from a few months ago (port gellhorn??). I assume we will also get fib, noose and national guards too. I really hope the physics of this new game will be back to realism like in GTA iv.
If red dead redemption 2 physics are anything to go by, it should be much more improved from GTA V.

The fact they used the late, great Tom Petty (born in Gainesville, FL) in the drop trailer gave me a lot of hope is a kinda dumb way, at least for the soundtrack! I didn't care too much for V's radio choices, especially compared to VC, SA, or IV, and played my own music 99.8% of the time I played the game.
It all looks amazing, though, I wasnt worried about that, regardles sof the R* drama post-RDR2 release. I'm super hyped. The RDR-style wildlife, the fan boats, and the massive, diverse beach scene was probably my fav glimpses in the trailer. The crowds! Even if you take away the size, theyre such diverse-looking characters and NPCs! Love the social-media lens of the trailer, very GTA and very FL
It will be interesting to learn more about Jason & Lucia, & how they will each be different to play.

It's Leonida (Florida), a state not just Vice and some countryside. From the Take-Two press release.
Hopefully the fact that they emphasized that it's a state and Vice is just a part of it means that we do get more than one city and it's not just Vice and then mostly empty countryside like GTA V's map was with Los Santos and then Blaine County.
But I knew they would just go with VI instead of "Vice" or "Vice City 2" like some people thought, because they leaks and some rumors suggested that the map was going to be more Florida based and not just Vice City with some country spots here and there.
