With all due respect to J Belladona, brutal, strong vioce of John Bush is quite different level. I cant help myself, my feeling is, that Belladona is struggling with this song.
Well he didn't have much time to learn it, you can tell because he wasn't really being himself while singing, he wasn't runnin around or any of that because he was too focused trying to remember the timing and lyrics of the song he didn't have much time to learn.
If i remember correctly, Scott Ian had mentioned that they had only rehearsed it once before this performance. When you see the performances following this, Joey is more comfortable and the performance looks and sounds more smooth. I rather enjoyed his performance here....much better than Dan Nelson.
The only reason anyone likes John bush better on this is because they are used to hearing him on the song/album. IF Joey would have sung on the album everyone would think this is fine. And by the way anthrax is the best out of the big 4... just thought I'd add that.
I have seen Anthrax BEFORE Joey left and he was great then, and I was with all you Joey lovers and though Bush sucked, then I seen them live 95 or 96 and that show was the most ruthless I have ever seen, Bush was standing on the speakers, swinging from the lights from the rafters and he was bad ass, changed my mind forever. Bush is very well content at singing for Armored Saint. Besides Joey is the sound of classic Anthrax and at least give him some respect for trying to sing a song that doesn't fit his vocal style

Joey fucking owns this fucking song!! would love to hear him do "room for one more"!!!! actually redo all the bush stuff with Joey just so it can be done right!!!
Meh. I like all the Anthrax singers, and for what it's worth, for a lot of bands it's pretty cool to see one singer (this case Joey) take on the other singer's (this case Bush) songs, but that's about it.
@jaybird35k3 Sure, but could you hear John on Persistence of Time? Or Euphoria? Or Among the Living? Fuck no. John is fucking fantastic, but Joey just suits Anthrax slightly better, and therefore it's fantastic to have him back. I think Joey did an incredible job on Worship Music. Like he belonged there. John would've done great, too, but there are some songs on the Worship album that just SCREAM Joey, and others that scream them both. No songs that scream just John.
Bush's vocals are monotone compared to Belladonna's. The highs, melody, and alternating range were definitely missing in Bush's version of the classic songs. That's why most Anthrax fans abandoned them for switching singers. Anthrax had the potential to gain enough notoriety to have those other big 4 bands opening for them but blew it because they wanted to experiment with a different singer and sound. Even though they are playing for bigger crowds with Joey, in sense they are starting over.
Part of the reason Worship Music is so good is precisely because it was written with John Bush in mind. WM would have been even better than it is with John on vocals.
It's good they had played that excellent song with Belladonna, though I prefer Bush. I guess both singers are awesome in their eras. Anthrax should consider doing a tour with both singers, that would be killer
Sounds like they up-tuned about half an octave to get closer to Joey's range. As it goes, Joey is going as low as he can go, and it's still too high a key for how the song sounded originally...
One good album? LMFAO! We've Come For You All & Sound of White Noise are considered two of the band's best albums. With the other 2 being highly regarded as well (& I would put them above ANYTHING *minus I am the Law* that Joey did with the band). Different Strokes I guess...
@jaybird35k3 Lol, giant step back how? The band always made more money with Joey in the band, and Worship Music has proven that even further. It's already besting everything John helped do besides Sound of White Noise, and it JUST came out. The only person taking a step back was John Bush himself, since Anthrax is WAY bigger a band than Armored Saint, and therefore, sells more. Anthrax and Joey made the right decision. Worship Music is definitely a Joey album, like Persistence of Time.
@trollfacelotsofshit His range is damn good right now. Listen to his performance of Man on the Silver Mountain from the Dio tribute. If anything, his voice is much more refined now. Sydney Carton Well, you have to think that this was right after he rejoined. Besides, he wasn't familiar enough with the song to add his own flair; his bandmates have a habit of telling him 2 or so days ahead of time only, and I doubt that he was listening to all the Anthrax records he wasn't on
