Welcome to our channel! We're Carol and Ken, retired professionals turned van life enthusiasts. We share our adventures across the UK and Europe in our trusty camper van, soon to be upgraded to a slightly larger model.
Our goal is to provide a relaxing, honest account of van life, with no scripted drama - just the real, day-to-day experiences of our travels. Many of our viewers find our content calming, and we hope you will too.

Its an absolutely gorgeous lookibg van and the interior is sheer luxury. I'm so jealous but in a good way, you both worked hard over the years and have earned this beautiful van. We are exhausted to be honest. Booked onto another campsite tonight to rest up for next 2 days. We have lots of sorting out still to do before we are ready for touring. 👍

I though Little Red was cute and took you to places the new van can't but I prefer the Consort. A bit more room to expand and so much better with a loo! It's such an important thing and I'm sure the showers are way better than daily wash ups. I enjoy your travels. Thank you for taking me with you.
We are not really finding that much difference with access now that we are used to driving it 👍

Love the van!!! So much more room and it looks spacious. My plan was to travel the rest of my life after I retired but I am raising an autistic grandson, instead. Enjoying your adventures. I just have a different kind. Thank goodness he loves hiking and driving around our Mountains in Upper East Tennessee, North Carolina and Virginia.

Lovely to see you both in a bigger space, you soon get used to it! I upgraded my van 4 years ago and I haven't regretted going bigger to a high top, long wheel base one bit. Carol will be going all Gordon Ramsey on us with the luxury of that oven and kitchen 😂 I love that you're offering Little Red to your channel first. I really hope it's a follower that decides to buy and continue the love. Happy camping guys 😊

Nice party bus, from the outside it looks a similar height to 'Fanny' [Camper Vibe] suggest one of those sticky backed labels on the dash to say 'remember your this high'!!!!! Don't do what I id id in 92 Toyota Commuter and knock me m8 carport sideways Eh! My 98 Hi Ace [1 ton] had been under it 70-80 times. Volvo XC90 test drove one down here, you would have enjoyed it. Aint sat da truf, got stung for damage not done by me on a Zu-suki. So wheres the dunny? My Hi Ace, came with Standard Shockers. We put Heavy Duty, Shocks to raise it to 1.5 ton. Don't need to change now, but when a shocker goes maybe think about H/Ds then. Wouldn't mind lil red myself , but gettin it Downunda. 🙄 Glad your betta Ken. Nice goin m8s, hope your enjoying the new ride. Stay vertical Eh!

Came back here after a couple of years away. Now I am confused. Do I buy the small camper or transition straight away to the bigger?

The red button reads HELP and the darker one ASSIST. Red is for a serious accident I think and assist is for breakdown.

Haha old habits.... eating off the trays. Looks like the cupboard over the sink took a bit of getting used to (bumping head) but the storage is worth it

Still going to steam flannels. Magnets now redundant as almost nothing is magnetic inside the van. 😁👍

Aren't those fabulous rear window wrapping around just ever, ever so wonderful! Notice your elbows and arms rest comfortably on the upright cushions back there I just love that. Remember in "Beloved Little Red" opening a small curtained window to see what the new day looked like, or opening the side door to see.....now you have colossal wrap around windows...just stunning.
Yes we can people watch to our hearts content. Consort put a huge amount of thought into the lounge area 👍

I’m now actively looking for a small camper and Little Red would be perfect, especially now that I’ve just received my Superannuation Pension lump sum. Unfortunately, as I live in Ireland importation of vehicles from the UK attract both VAT (23%) and VRT (13% minimum)of purchase and transportation costs🤬 that would probably add €20k to any price now on UK vehicle imports since Brex!t I’m sure I’ll find or convert a similar vehicle as there are some great suppliers here in the Emerald Isle.

Wow that is a heavy tax that would put most people off. I assume that is the plan these days. Little Red is a brilliant go anywhere vehicle. We will miss that for sure.
In the UK it seems as if you won't eat a lot of pork. Obviously, it's because it's the cheapest meat option. Sausages, and hands aka your gammon steaks again pork. You should have chicken, a little bit of beef is not bad for you, lamb or mutton and moderation. You do have fish on occasion and that's a good option as well. I'm sorry surprised that you don't eat rabbit l. Is rabbit expensive in the UK?
Rabbit used to be eaten a lot back in the day but not so much now. Red meat is becoming very expensive now.
I miss Little Red, he/she was the first van I followed on UA-cam 😢 But I'm sure you'll have some wonderful adventures in your new van. Where in Lancashire are you from Ken? I'm from Blackburn but I have lived in Ireland since 2003. Looking forward to lots of fabby vids. Clare x

This is very exciting and certainly very timely! Nice that things rolled smoothly to completion. I have decided that I will install a diesel heater in my bus. If I could upload an image, I would. Congratulations!!! My power box (a Bluetti AC180) arrived this morning. Exciting stuff! I hired an electrician to run the wiring from the Baxter for the wheelchair bus annd between the two sources, I should be comfortable. Your blinds look excellent and I am curious to know how they did with condensation after you have had a cozy overnight in your new rig. Sliding the blinds closed would have seemed so easy and convenient! Congratulations!!!
The front cab blinds are made by Remis. They take seconds to close and we love them. The side ones are quite delicate so we will treat them carefully. If you go slow and steady they are fine. You still get condensation through them but far less than in Little Red. This van has excellent passive ventilation and humidity so far in stormy weather is low at around 40%. In Little Red it was around 60 - 70%. Thermal performance is low but the van is so well insulated maintaining a cosy temperature with the heater is easy.

So good to see that video. Thanks for your videos. Our Ducato based conversion was due to arrive in NZ at about the same time, but we have just heard it is still another couple of months away. However watching your joy did something to appease our frustration, which was good to feel, as I was worried we would feel too much envy! 😊
We are impressed with the base vehicle. Only thing I don’t like is the handbrake is a long reach.

You both are so lucky I'm retired on ill health. And my beautiful misses is working a shorter week so we've been looking for a four berth 4x4 campervan but the price of some are so expensive. But we need extra room because my parents and in-laws be doing some holidays with us. We love the isle of wight but with the van we could go anywhere. I am very jealous.My 540 is still on order. Should have been February delivery but now looks like April. I wish I had seen Consort before I ordered. You both look very comfortable.
Sorry your van has a delay. We know what that feels like. Lucky for us that delay allowed us to find Consort. I am a bit stunned that they gave us a date when it would be ready and it happened as said 👍

Our Nova has a 90L compressor fridge.
I felt thrilled for you both, it reminded me of when we swopped our little two berth caravan for a large 4 berth van with an end bathroom, we didn’t know what to do with all the space. Having said that we shall never forget our little two berth and all the pleasure it gave us, the open road was ours, and boy did we enjoy it. I remember I was to long for the bed, but that didn’t stop me enjoying it. Looking forward to seeing your trips in your new van. I wish you all the best.

I agree. Little Red did us proud for almost 5 years and funnily enough all the bending and reaching for things did us both a lot of good. Everyday was like a yoga lesson. Tomorrow night you will learn why we changed vans 👍

Going to miss a bit of magic the "Little red van " added. Strange how you got a van treble the size and filled it with the stuff from the Little Un.. But good luck going forwards let's see where it leads.
The problem is all the extra bags and boxes needed to transfer the kit. If I didn’t want to hang onto them for the next time we would have bags of space left over 👍
A great improvement Ken & Carol, I am sure your adventures are just about to begin again, how many miles did you rack up in the little red camper ? remember the overhead barriers in car parks, this van may not get under them. I am sure you will find this so much better , enjoy your future travels, we await to see the adventures

Great to see your new van and look forward to your future vidios. Very wise to spend a few weeks making sure everything works properly. Ten years ago we had a new AS Amethyst coachbuilt on a ford Transit we only had it a week when we went off to France. What a mistake that was. I wont bore you with all the details but we had to cut short our trip and the van had to go back to AS three times to be put right lots of faults . Lets hope you have better luck than we had. Chris
Consort are very good with this aspect. In our experience every new caravan or van we have had has had teething issues. So far everything is working well but Consort really encourage customers to stay local to allow things to bed down. Problems sometimes only arise once the vehicle has had a good shaking on UK roads. We are staying in striking distance of base camp for 2 weeks just in case before going further afield 👍. We have been told bu other owners that Consort are excellent with aftercare service. They can fit you in quickly if needed.

Not that keen on making a video about the cost. Some will think we are mad to spend what we did. All the costs are on the Consort website and we specced it high. All the extra stuff is mainly electronics which you don’t see. The vans are solid as a rock, backed by a great team who really do care about you after they sell it and at our stage of life it’s worth every penny 👍

Welcome to the Consort van owners club 🙂 You did exactly what we did when we picked ours up 🙂 The Clayton hotel was lovely, really nice food and staff, the rooms were lovely as well, could not fault it all.. Love the extended factory at onsort, will have to pop over sometime and have a nosey 🙂 It is a lovely van, did Carol have a drive ? We have moved things several times already in the first three days. It takes a long time to get things working efficiently.

There will obviously be changes compared to Little Red, but it looks like you’ve found the perfect van for your needs.

I note you have an sun shelter. Our experience of them is to only use when the weather is settled and calm. If left out I had to get up in the middle of the night and wind it back in due to it rattling when the wind got up 😅. Congratulations! We are pleased for you.
