Ponchuffy has made an interesting video on V-Trigger II meaties. I would like to know what you think about those techs since you are full Ryu main Jymmy with a very solid opinion on the V-trigger at question.
thanks for pointing me to ponchuffy's video, I haven't seen those setups before. I do think they're not worth much unfortunately though, most of the "ambiguous" dash under stuff seems to be reactable and on top of that these setups can only be used in very niche situations that require me to go against my philosophy on consistent gameplay: 1. don't purposely put yourself in the corner if you don't have to. 2. don't use buttons that are -2 on block on the opponents wake up (solar plexus) solar plexus is stronger when VT2 is activated because of the mixup potential, but I think this is much stronger in the neutral situation. oh and the most important reason why these setups aren't strong comes from the fact that strong players don't press buttons on wakeup against ryu, so there's almost no chance of hitting a good player with this.
How can any Ryu player be happy with the changes? We lost the mixup after fwd throw with st.fierce CC. And even if the opponent is late somehow and you still get a crush counter st.fierce-roundhouse TC from max range and VT cancel , you are now unable to follow up with anything, because tatsu no longer works. Also this is the case when using st.fierce as a throwbait or doing a ranged meaty from unoptimal comboenders like srk.. manytimes you are to far away to do anything after the TC VT cancel. It seems funny that the way they chose to buff certain Ryus tools, was to nerf the better ones. I'm really doubtful that capcom devs are keeping with times. Some recent changes would indicate they just finished watching the S1 tapes.

Nick Clark donkey shouldnt be -16 tho, thats ridiculous. -4,-5 at worst. Ex should be -2 since we have to spend a bar plus its not even spaceable or spammable like uriens ex tackle
you couldn't parry a 3F move in that spot before the latest patch, but now you can because of the new cancel properties. I did make a mistake because I showed a parry on a 4F frame move which is doable without the new solar plexus cancel so yeah my bad.

I'm facing the exact same thing.. In lower ranks, walk up sweep works very well, but once we reach ultra silver and above, all them Guiles annoy the hell out of me 😔

Khalz13 For HK tatsu outside of V trigger I usually just throw st.lp out or if they land a bit far I throw st.lk, and it usually stuffs them up. When Kens go into VT I just EX DP every time they do HK tatsu 😂
Hey man as a fellow ryu player the advice I can offer is patience till you're in close. Now in the new patch you're able to walk guile down. Slowly you can move up while blocking sonic booms, then when in close guile can jump, ex flash kick, or pressure with buttons. As long as you stay on him, and don't let them get away you can lock him down and win.
Why all people play ryu? I mean street fighter have so many characters and people still play the same basic noob character I mean people actually like ryu? Or play just to win?

I AM GAMER actually the problem with SF4 was that casuals could use only 20% of characters potential while the 80% is only used by hard core gamers which would put people like me off of the game, but now it is reversed. we can utilize 80% of character's potential while only 20% is reserved for hard core gamers. nothing bad about this, Tekken for example has been like that since very long time now, i can use Kazuya and make bad ass combos and enjoy the game, while there will always be this 20% of combos and mixups that i never tab into cause i know these are for the pro hard core gamers only. unless Capcom made the decision to make SFV this way SFV would have died long ago. Hard core gamers are limited in numbers and they can't keep a game alive "financially"
One thing that come to mind that really sux is the micro transaction for new stages and cosmetics you have to buy including additional playable characters 30 bucks a year. This game is for the rich and not for the poor. Gonna cost you a ton of booze cash over the course of years as they keep releasing DLC.

Jimmy you missed being able to do ex hadoken vtc donkey kick juggle, its a new meterless followup when using vt2 dont have to use ex dp anymore
