Took me forever to find a worthwhile MAC paint pot review video. Thank you for being so intelligent and conscientious in your review as well as teachin me about the product. Just ordered 5 paint pots and looking forward to using them now that I've got the low-down from you. Thanks!
I’ve been waiting for months for anyone to make a video on these, and here you are at last. THANK YOU! I was considering Groundwork as a crease shade and on occasion as a dark base to really bring out multichromes/duochromes. Although I may want Black Mirror for the latter. Also wanted Vintage Selection as a lid base. Too bad you didn’t have that one. I would have loved to see it. Can you make other videos using these? Cream and stick shadows don’t get enough spotlight on them I feel. I don’t know if you’re familiar with Shelbey Wilson, that’s a part of what draws me to her channel, that she uses Caviar Sticks all the time.
Good review Chris, very happy to see those swatches! I love the look as well, nice to see that you can create a whole look with only the Paintpots. Can’t wait to play with these myself 😍
Yeah it's great to finally have some diversity and I think we can really think of them as a cream eye shadow first, rather than just an eye primer. Definitely a different way of thinking ;)
I recently bought some and am obsessed with using them as a single shadow look that lasts all day! Definitely going to pick up some of these shades, thank you for posting this video!
Thank you so much!!!!! I didn't see a such a complete and informative video like this!!! I'm considering buying the white one. Because I need a base for my pastel eyeshadows..
I just found your video and I love how you actually show the application and how this works well not just as a base! Hopefully you get this question well, if I were to mix painterly with Princes Cut do you think it would come out a pretty light pink/peachy shade with a holographic shift? I’m wondering how shimmery the princess cut actually is! Thanks!
Thanks for review of Bougie! I've purchased it off a lady who's selling her kit! One and done is exactly the reason I bought it and to dupe the colour out of the X9 (Navy) palett called Club S and you have mentioned club in your review! Brilliant thanks!
Babe in Charms and Bougie were the colours that grabbed me. Painterly and Groundwork are already staples for me. I am sad they discontinued Indianwood, it was such a good one and done shadow.
Honestly, I think we're going to have to start a petition to bring Indianwood back!! Bougie in my experience is pretty easy to work with, Babe in Charms needs a little more loving and at least on my skintone, tends to lean more pink than gold.
Yeah the good lighting makes it a little clearer to understand. All the colours have their pro's and cons but I'm so happy that MAC made the decision to expand the collection.
I appreciate the information. I am looking for more orf taupe and pink colours for myself. I really like your soft brow. I am learning to go easy on the brows, and it is definitely a more appealing. Cheers
Very nice video presentation! I really enjoyed seeing all of these & your artistry in using them. Even though MAC Paint Pots have been around for a reasonably long while, they’re still the best & most versatile products in the cosmetic market because they have set the standard for what so many others aspire to be...but never will become! I’m grateful that you are showing new additions & more possibilities of applications. And I enjoy your ‘eye for color’, tyvm! Appreciate your talents! Best wishes & many happy years ahead for you. Stay safe & well & keep sharing here! Love your channel/videos❤️
Yeah the shimmers I found were really pretty under certain lighting conditions, but with the ease and quality of foiled powder eye shadows I shouldn't have to build up a shimmer cream eyeshadow, especially when the mattes perform so good!
Hi Chris! Thank you for this video! I wanted to pick up a few of the new shades, but wanted to wait for a review with swatches. I plan to pick up It’s Fabtastic and Brick-A-Brac. I also just subscribed!! :)
No problems at all Rhonda, I'm glad you enjoyed it and thank you so much for subscribing, I really appreciate it. I think the both It's Fabstastic and Brick-a-brac are amazing colours, especially when combined with a shimmer shadow for a easy daily look.
This look is so beautiful!! I love it, but I am a cruelty-free shopper. I do have Painterly, which I got before I went CF. I LOVE MAC, and I wish they would go CF. I would fully support the brand if they did.
First time viewer here, hi :) I found you looking for the new paint pot shades. I had to stop and comment before the first minute was even up because omg your eye look is GORGEOUS!!
Never in all my years of makeup addiction have I ever owned any of the paint pots. Looking for eyeshadow base for my crepe-y lids, I just ordered Groundwork and Soft Ochre because Mac is offering 2 for $30 sale on the website.
thank you for this review, very informative and i love the look. I've ended up picking up a couple as i love cream shadows for easy everyday work make up (done and out the door in a few minutes), i also love cream shadows in hot humid weather as they stay put.
Hi thanks a lot for the great review. I'm part of the 10+ MAC users/lovers so very happy to see new shades in this product range. Based on your presentation I selected 4 I'd like to get very soon. One question, the 'pot' looks tiny on the screen, is it me or are they now the size of the eyeliners? Thanks in advance to whom may answer.
@@xlifeofchrisx :-D Ha ha okay, great, thanks. I believe I'll go for: Belle Epic, Contemplative State, Bougie and Princess Cut. I'll see if I can get my hands on an existing 'Quite natural' as I don't see it everywhere (seems to be discontinued and the new dark brown I saw... not sure it will have the same effect) ( I have from the 'old' ones : Blackground, Quite Natural, Constructivist, Indianwood, Indianwood, Idyllic, from the most 'recent' ones: Layin low, Eclair, Hyperviolet, Perky, Stormy pink, Clearwater, Tailor grey, Nice composure I'd love to see Genuine Treasure, Coral Crepe and Delft back ....)
Hum, I could swatch my selected ones (except for Bougie that store had not yet received) and I was actually disappointed. I am very used to these products of MAC (and almost eveerything they have) but did not find them as great as I thought (I also swatched other colors) but the overall first experience was 'meh' ... the colors were a bit 'off' to my taste... maybe it's the first swatch session effect.... A surprise though was the dark brown one. It's nice color but so far I picked none of them. I'll try again. I left instead with one of the new powder kiss lipsticks haha (Kinda SoarTa) and identified 3 others I love and will get. Any review on these? Maybe? Thanks
Yeah the more I use them, the more I tend to gravitate towards the matte colours, the green/purple I haven’t touched since the video which is a shame. I do have the new powder kiss products, so I’ll get a video up in the next couple of weeks ;)
@@xlifeofchrisx it’s too chalky on my complexion initially. It feels like a pretty glitter shade. I’d prefer something that feels like my eyes but better. Woke up like this feeling.

@@xlifeofchrisx thank you! I really love both but unfortunately I cannot use face and body cause it breaks me out 😔 lately I've been using the new smashbox bb cream that is a very close dupe and doesn't break me out. Would be great a video on how you apply your base 😁
Ohhh, I'll have to look it up. I'm really moving away from high coverage foundations and love a healthy glow! I'll pop a foundation routine on my list ;)
They should've added a blue and a red so MUAs could mix their own shades with these paint pots. This is way overdue! They needed to expand this range long ago!
Ahh such a good point. If you haven’t already Mac Pro has another product that is similar to Paintpots called Chromaline liners that come in a bundle of primary colours so you can mix and match!
@@xlifeofchrisx Are they like paint pots (eye bases or cream shadows)? Are they just liquid liners in primary colors? Thanks so much! Great video and review!
