My dad went to the same high school as Danny Thomas, Woodward High School, he was the same age. I also grew up in Toledo and hawked newspapers for the Blade in the 1960's. My grandfather also worked for the Blade. That's why I had to watch this episode, I enjoyed it a lot.
4:00- I never understood why a home run wasn't worth more than a base hit. It took me a while to realize each person who crossed the home plate was only worth one point. I was never a sportsman. I was always LAST to be picked for a team in PE class.
@TheBrabon1 youre someone with a heart. thanks. The coogan law. jackie coogan? the child star who appeared with charlie chaplin? i read somwehre in later years he met charlie after many many years. Coogan wasnt doing so well financially. Charlie kept sending him financial aid for many years later after their meeting.
My maternal grandparents raised 8 kids during the depression. Many times, all they had to eat was mustard sandwiches. My grandfather was a lowly man who valued huss family 2nd to The Almighty. Hexqaa deeply in love with his wife. She contracted cancer and passed prematurely. Thrn he passed only three months later ofvni natural causes. It was determined that he died of a broken 💔. Each of his children had a kid the named after him, either as a first name or a middle name.

The back of a crew member becomes clearly visible in the foreground on the right-hand side of the frame during the sleeper car scene.
