As much as I enjoy seeing the early-season episodes again, after all the years they were kept out of syndication, in hindsight it's sad knowing that both 'Margaret' on the show and Jean Hagen in real life would not live long.
They did a great job casting both wives and housekeepers. They were all sensational. Rusty was always so adorable with equally as Adorable lines. It is very sad that he shot himself due to the pressures of typecasting which was Hollywood's greatest heartless shortcomings!
The “ice boxes” behind them in the kitchen scene. I remember them carting our ice box out of the summer kitchen cause mom gave the new ‘lectric one the ok after a couple years use. Yeah, I’m getting up there.
First time discovering the series, he has a tony soprano vibe, can't believe I've never heard this show referenced anywhere before! I just stumbled upon it on roku randomly lol
They had to eliminate that opening title when Chrysler's Dodge division became the show's alternate sponsor in January 1954 (replacing Speidel watchbands).
There's a certain irony here in guest star Shirley Mitchell playing a Lina Lamont-type character (in both voice and brain power) much to the annoyance to Jean Hegan, right after Jean came off filming "Singing in the Rain".
The ONLY thing I DIDN'T like the show was because in each case, his CAREER took priority over his family. One anniversary episode I refuse to watch is when his wife prepares a beautiful dinner fircthen and Danny keeps delaying his return. When they show up the see the table and start eating the dinner.
@@kristabrewer9363 That's the normal occurance. For TV in that timeframe it was a little too risque. (Even Desi and Lucy and they were married in real life)
@@kristabrewer9363 Back then there were censors that would shut a tv or movie down. At least one foot on the floor if kissing and only closed mouths. Twin beds for married people and no hinting about sex.
I think The Bob Newhart Show in the early ‘70’s had the first couple in the same bed. A king size and they were usually about as close to the side as they could be. I’m trying to recall this from my very old brain housing group.

Hope you music lovers recognize that every time the music box played "here comes the bride," it was in a different key

I hope it includes the original openings and closings.
I would like to see all these episodes digitally remastered and released on Bluray discs. Good old fashion family viewing from the 1950s.

I sure wish I had that 53 Lincoln Continental that Danny and his TV family are hopping into in the opening scene!

S1E1 was perfect what happened to these poorer quality videos? I wouldn't have noticed if the first one wasn't such good quality.
5:37 NICE SHOT OF THE ATLANTIC CITY SKYLINE.

How is it possible that there is one bed for a couple? in 1950s sitcoms there were always separate beds...
there 2 beds in the room
What's wrong with a married couple sharing the same bed?
