70 year old BTS Army here. This is a diss track aimed at their haters who have been trying to take them down since their debut in 2013. These young men were encouraged to be hands on with the writing and composing of a lot of their music and all of them are songwriters/composers and most are producers. There are 3 rappers and 4 vocalists and they debuted as a hip hop group. Most were still teenagers. The rap line are the most prolific songwriters/producers of the group and all are now full members of the South Korea Copyright Association. Most other Kpop music labels hand their groups songs and tell them to sing it. BTS lyrics speak to many social topics and very little boy/girl love. Their music has been known to heal people and actually save lives. That is why they are so big. They address social injustices, depression, bullying, self love and many other topics in their deep lyrics. They have won 11 American Music Awards, including Artist of the year, a record setting 12 Billboard Awards, and have been nominated for 5 Grammys. Three nominations were from this year and two of them were with Coldplay. Globally, they have won over 800 awards. They all have solo projects as well. They have moved beyond Kpop and they may be a once in a lifetime group. They are breaking records by the Beatles and Michael Jackson. They do many genres of music by the way! I recommend "ON - Kinetic Manifesto Film" and "Black Swan". You need to turn on the English CC by the way. They are all about their lyrics! Welcome to BTS! 💜
Their lyrics are another level to experiencing them. I’m not sure if you had them on when you watched. This song goes out to the haters and there are several clever lines in the lyrics. This is the song that made me a fan, however there is so much more to them. Glad you decided to check them out.
This video has over 1.3 billion views. These guys are amazing. It's very difficult to put them in any musical box. They are their own genre is another commenter has said. Gear up for your journey down the rabbit hole.
So... Kpop is an industry, not a genre. They actually have AMAZING vocal abilities, but they will use autotune in the studio version for effects and style. Keep in mind that they sing and rap live while dancing full choreography so those slower "boy band" moments is a chance for them to BREATHE. I can not recommend enough that you check out a live performance. Their studio tracks are great, but where they really shine is on stage. They just did a concert in Busan where they opened the show with MIC DROP and followed immediately with one of their new track off of their anthology album "PROOF" called "Run BTS". It was the first time they performed it live and the first time we saw the choreo. I think you'd be AMAZED and their stage presence and sheer stamina to be able to do that choreo and sing/rap live. Here is a link. ua-cam.com/video/XigGbzte8Wg/v-deo.html
Thank you so much for the reaction! BTS are multi talented . Just remember to turn your captions on. They usually do a English/ Korean mix. They are VERY diverse in what they do. I suggest that you listen to them sing "Fix You" by Coldplay. It's so beautiful that I cry every time I hear it. You WILL not find any bad music from them. They have 3 English songs that are more boy bandish like. But if you keep checking them out can't go wrong with any of their music. If you like a certain kind of music they have probably done it. They are VERY diverse in what they do. They are also VERY impressive guys. They have spoken at the United Nations twice and have a great message. Please keep watching BTS!
When you said "this is dope" I cracked up. They have a great song called "Dope" lol ! They did start out as a hip-hop group BUT have evolved into the best group of all time. Breaking records held by The Beatles and Celine Deon.
Thanks for the nice reaction - I was raised on classic rock and gave these guys a listen because my son's fiancee liked them. They have an incredible range of musical styles and do them all well. Welcome to the BTS rabbit hole!
Their live performances are amazing. Aside from Michael Jackson, I've never really seen any western artists performed better than BTS. They are not just known for being great singers, rappers and dancers but also, their Korean lyrics are so deep, meaningful and inspirational. The message they send through their music resonates with the general public because they tackle depression, anxiety, mental health, discrimination, social expectations, self love, hard work, following your dreams etc. They have 3 English songs Dynamite, Butter and Permission To Dance which they released during the height of the global pandemic to bring positive vibe and hope to all their fans across the world. Their 3 English songs are not really that deep compared to their Korean songs. The seven members are all songwriters, producers and composers. Although they have in-house producers, they are actively involve in writing, composing and producing their songs from their debut album in 2013 to their solo stuff until now. Their music genres include Pop, Hip Hop, Latin Pop, EDM, R&B, Ballad. Name it, they have it. Their fans ARMY are not just screaming teenage girls but people who are in their 20s, 30s, 40s, 50s even 60s and 70s. I'm 48 and I'm an ARMY. Here are some recommended songs for you to discover BTS' discography. Please don't forget to TURN ON THE SUBTITLES/CC. Thank you so much for reacting to BTS. Hi, Steve! Prepare for the comment deluge, ok? As you have made your debut as a BTS reactor, I just want to tell you a few things - ARMY, the BTS fandom, is passionate and defensive because BTSxARMY get a lot of senseless hate. You unknowingly hit a couple hot buttons, but nothing we can't handle. There are millions of us, and we love to educate people. It's, like, our moral imperative to help people understand what makes BTS and their global movement special. They keep us really busy, tho, so we sound terse and are overwhelming. There will be a lot of duplicate comments because, for some reason, we can't seem to help ourselves. Please understand - the vast majority of us are celebrants at a big festival - not pitchfork-wielding villagers. Keep that tone in mind because it is very easy to feel attacked. Of course, you *may* get irate and abusive comments from immature people or even those posing as ARMY to make us look bad (yes, that is a real thing). PLEASE block the truly abusive people! We do not tolerate bullying. As for those hot buttons I mentioned, I'm going to quote what you will hear and tell you what those things really mean: 1. "BTS isn't k-pop." "BTS is the genre." - of course BTS are k-pop idols, but they have also grown far beyond the boundaries of what that means. They do not confine themselves to one particular genre, and the way they were formed deviated so much from the industry norm that other labels are scrambling to try to copy it. 2. "BTS is hip hop." - yep! their roots are in hip hop, and they were originally going to be a rap group, but the label decided to add the vocalists and dance. The rappers weren't too happy about that, but adjusted. 3. "We aren't all screaming teen girls." - nope! I'm a 47 yr old white woman in the US Pacific NW. ARMY isn't bound by country, race, gender, sexual orientation, religion.....and certainly *not* age. The "screaming teen girl" stereotype stems from misogyny. If one can dismiss what females like - one can dismiss females, and vise versa. When applied to BTS, you can add in racism and xenophobia - and a fair amount of western entertainment industry pettiness and territoriality. Being ARMY means a constant struggle against racism, sexism, ageism, stereotypical gender norms, and toxic masculinity. 4. "BTS don't need/use auto tune/backing tracks/lip sync" - well, of course they use autotune. It's right there. What people mean is that it is always a stylistic choice and that vocally, they are extremely talented. As for backing tracks and lip sync, K-pop is a full performance experience combining voice, dance, and visuals. Pop music is written with so many overlaid tracks it is impossible to recreate live, and all their work is designed at the aim to give fans the *best possible* live experience. That means backing - just as if they had backup singers, except they are doing their own layering. The mix is usually quite low, though. Simultaneous dancing and singing requires breaks for breath. So there will be points when the backing track mix takes over. Those are the times they are accused of not singing live. These things are from senseless hate on the premise that they lack skills, and people are sooo defensive! They are stunning live. 5. Turn on your subtitles, but *not* any autogenerated ones. Most BTS music has subtitles. Lastly - stop being surprised that they produce good music. They are world-class artists, producers, lyricists, and performers. They also have the closest, mutually loving relationship with their fans in history. I hope you find this helpful! Ask anyone if you have questions, and you'll get more dissertations. 🙂 If you like any particular genres, ask for suggestions that are close. "This is very hiphop", that's because they started as a hiphop group. "I haven't heard them because I don't listen to radio", you won't hear them much on the radio either because of the reluctance to play music that's not in English. (What makes music girls listen to bad.)
57 years old Army. Make sure to have closed caption on. They do have 3 songs in English which were done throughout the Pandemic to reach all audiences. They fall under KPop but they are not traditional. Genres are Pop, Rap, R&B, Lain Pop, EDM, etc.
I will try to help you get past a mistake in mindset. K-pop is not a genre. It is a term begun in the West as a descriptor for Korean popular music which includes many genres. BTS encompasses many of them. Rap, hip hop, EDM, R&B/jazz, Pop, Latin pop and ballad. In many of their live shows they also perform with a live band. It is best to go into each song without any particular expectation of what you're going to hear. Surprised to see you watched a Korean group without the subtitles on. Always something to remember for the future. This is a clap back to a lot of their haters earlier on. The lyrics are pretty dope.
💥💥💥💥💥 AS I'M READING THE COMMENTS A COUPLE OF PEOPLE POINTED OUT THAT THEY MIGHT HAVE SEEN THIS REACTION PREVIOUSLY... IT DID SEEM FAMILIAR TO ME ALSO, BUT WITH SO MANY REACTIONS I WATCH IT'S HARD TO TELL. ANYWAY I DID GO TO HIS CHANNEL, AND TO MY SURPRISE ALL HIS REACTIONS OF MANY SINGERS OR GRUPS SHOW 12HOURS AGO. THAT LOOKS LIKE THERE MUST HAVE BEEN A RESET.... A GLITCH IN THE MATRIX. 🤣🤣🤔
For future reactions, be sure to have the closed captions on. This song addressed their haters. I enjoyed your reaction, that you played through the video and didn't talk continuously.
Mic Drop is BTS' response to their haters with a little flexing on the side spitting facts...lol. with Suga's epic lines "tasteless ratatouille" & "sue it". I recommend you check their latest live performance of Mic Drop from their Yet to Come Busan concert last Octobet where it was attended by 70k live audience and was livestreamed by over 50M worldwide causing the apps to crash from time to time. You will feel the same energy. 🔥🔥🔥💯💯💯 Another recommendation is BTS dance practice videos so you can see the whole dance and appreciate the choreography. That is what they usually performed on live performances. Thanks for reacting to BTS.
FYI: PUT THE CC WOULD BE BENEFICIAL TO UNDERSTANDING WHAT THEY SING. ALWAYS HAVE CC ON WHEN REACTING TO BTS.. MUST OF THEIR SONGS HAVE MESSAGES, INSPIRATIONAL OR THROWING SHADE AT THEIR HATERS, CASE AND POINT "MIC DROP" HOPE YOU KEEP EXPLORING THE WORLD OF BTS... GOING DOWN THE PROVERBIAL "RABBIT HOLE" ENJOY THE JOURNEY 💜🫶
I would love a reaction to Jungkook stiil with you love to see a musician perspective I just love the boys and all their music Jungkook is one of the members of bts
Since you mentioned dope...check their song Dope...it is literally dope 💯💯💯💯 Fire as it is literally 🔥🔥🔥 Danger and it is dangerous lol No More Dream (debut song) Not Today No We Are Bulletproof Pt. 2 Attack on Bangtan Boy n Love Bapsae Jump Anpanman and a lot more
Did you have the closed captioning on? Their lyrics are so good! BTS started as a Hip Hop group, they have 3 main rappers and 4 main vocalists, although all of them can sing and rap. Please do more BTS reactions! They have so many great songs and performances! 💜 Check out Dope, Idol, Fire, and On Kinetic Manifesto.
This is not Kpop.kpop industry never do nothing to them. It's just BTS. Most of his fans are over 30/40 years old and a lot are males. Lyrics are very important, his MV have subt. This song original version (not remix) to me is so much better.
57-year-old BTS Army, we are very protective of our boys, first of all. As a musician's daughter and have a ear for pitch and tone, I respect your opinion. I think you hit some points about the western effect. They are leaders in their field actually. They each have solo stuff out and should be looked at to see the difference. They each have instruments they play as well as writing and producing their own music. As I said we are very protective of our guys and we are very proud of them, that being said, all 7 of our young men are serving their country right now and we seem to be more protective.... not being ugly towards your reactions, just saying you really need to listen to more and then base your assessment on their talents. As a musician standpoint.
k pop is an industry not so much a specific sound. they do autotune as a choice, they all have amazing vocals. BTS started predominantly as a hip hop group. but nowadays there is not genre that can contain BTS. they are super amazing. you should keep following they have everything.
KPop is an industry not a genre. BTS debuted as a hip hop group. However, they never limited themselves. You will be surprised every time you hear a new song. When the titles of new tracks are released, no one can guess the genre. It’s like getting that toy in a Cracker Jack box. Lol
"This is dope" - no, it's not, it's MIC Drop. 😉 BTS actually has a song called DOPE, so comments of first time reactors like this are funny (in a cute way, of course). You might want to check this one out, too. Maybe you'll like it.
You wont hear them on the radio because American music companies own most of the radio networks. They dont want you to hear them because you will realise they outclass the American groups. No autotune. Dont categorise them as Kpop, it would be like calling all US music as USpop. They perform in many genres
Oh, honey. If this is failure, sign me up!! I have a couple notes for you: First, it is so ironic that the theme of this song is about being proud of your accomplishments no matter what haters say. Second, ARMY always welcomes recruits. BTS can help you love and accept yourself because they are sincere and kind. They write songs of comfort and hope. ARMY is a global family. All you have to do is open your mind just a littttttle bit. 🙂👍💜
OH MY GOSH! I didn't realize that was a boracity video title! LOLOL I'm a clown. I'm sorry for jumping on you like you were throwing out a weird insult! This is providing Steve with an interesting example of ARMY knee-jerk reaction! 💜💜💜😅😅😅
Just putting it out there because ive watched a few of your videos now... SOmetimes what you think is auto tuned is actually just Jimin or Jungkook singing the line in the back ground which gives it a bit of a robotic sound because of the quality of their voices. i suggest you listen to them sing accapella so you have an idea what their voices sound like without mic processing
MIC Drop (Steve Aoki Remix)' Official MV lip sync is not correct - because they changed big parts of it in English for this remix - and the video parts where BTS are, is from the original version where those parts are mainly sung in Korean - that's why the lip sync is off in this video.
So when people hear boy band they picture 1D or Jonas brothers that are not the same thing. These guys do it all, sing, rap, dance, write, produce. Comments are right you made the biggest mistake by not having the lyrics on. You don’t get the whole picture. And k pop is not a genre, it’s an industry.
They were acussed whats they did'n can sing. This Is a son for haters. Because this they put much autotone in this in responde yo haters. Sorry for muy english but i am from Nicaragua muy lenguage Is spanish

37yrs here... welcome, to your new adventure.

💥💥💥💥💥
AS I'M READING THE COMMENTS A COUPLE OF PEOPLE POINTED OUT THAT THEY MIGHT HAVE SEEN THIS REACTION PREVIOUSLY... 🤣🤣🤔
You might want to check them out on NPR Tiny Desk Concert.
More BTS, please react to their mv ON KINETIC MANIFESTO Come Prima, it slaps.
Another recommendation is BTS dance practice videos so you can see the whole dance and appreciate the choreography. That is what they usually performed on live performances. Thanks for reacting to BTS.
Did you have captions on? BTS is about the lyrics as well as EVERY THING else.
FYI: PUT THE CC WOULD BE BENEFICIAL TO UNDERSTANDING WHAT THEY SING.
ALWAYS HAVE CC ON WHEN REACTING TO BTS.. MUST OF THEIR SONGS HAVE MESSAGES, INSPIRATIONAL OR THROWING SHADE AT THEIR HATERS, CASE AND POINT "MIC DROP"
HOPE YOU KEEP EXPLORING THE WORLD OF BTS...
GOING DOWN THE PROVERBIAL "RABBIT HOLE" ENJOY THE JOURNEY 💜🫶
I would love a reaction to Jungkook stiil with you love to see a musician perspective I just love the boys and all their music
Jungkook is one of the members of bts

Did you have the closed captioning on? Their lyrics are so good! BTS started as a Hip Hop group, they have 3 main rappers and 4 main vocalists, although all of them can sing and rap. Please do more BTS reactions! They have so many great songs and performances! 💜 Check out Dope, Idol, Fire, and On Kinetic Manifesto.
1 of the influences for this song was rm watching president obama's last speech to congress where he dropped the mic.
wasn't t his published awhile back?
Why do i feel i’ve watched this before? 🤔 are these re-uploads video from old channel?
Watch tiny desk concert see how they sing live - a must
Next time turn on captioning...
k pop is an industry not so much a specific sound. they do autotune as a choice, they all have amazing vocals.
Well done ladies like them too!
❤❤❤
Isnt this a re upload? I have seen your bts reactions few months ago
As far as I know namjoon has the only one that has auto tune intentionally but jungkook doesnt.
Hola amigo nueva suscriptora
Interesting you mention radio. BTS is hardly ever on the radio. Only their english songs are played which are only 3 songs of the 300+ songs they have
You wont hear them on the radio because American music companies own most of the radio networks. They dont want you to hear them because you will realise they outclass the American groups.
No autotune. Dont categorise them as Kpop, it would be like calling all US music as USpop. They perform in many genres
You can react "next BTS and why they fail every time"
@@flyushkifly 🤣🤣🤣🤣
@@hopeworld0824 I know, right?? yikes...😂
@@flyushkifly You're funny 😁😁😁
Alip Ba Ta - Buried a live, please
There is less auto tune than you think. There is some for effect but not that much.
He's not performing the words unless you watch the original Korean version. Which you should.
MIC Drop (Steve Aoki Remix)' Official MV lip sync is not correct - because they changed big parts of it in English for this remix - and the video parts where BTS are, is from the original version where those parts are mainly sung in Korean - that's why the lip sync is off in this video.
Mic drop
The lyrics is for their haters😊
BTS is amazing 💕
Watch The Guide To Its-The Bangtan 7 by Taylor and you will fall in love with them. I promise.
