The modern woman is both "empowered " and a victim.

The biracial woman was raised in a 2 parent home with a white dad. She tried to point out that men of other races expect their wives to take care of the home while the men take care of most of the bills. She made some important points. I was raised in a 2 parent home with 2 Black parents. My mom spent the first 5 yrs of my life as a stay at home mom. My dad drank a lot, paid the bills but there wasn’t enough money to buy the 5 kids clothes or to pay for extracurricular activities so my mom went to work against my dad’s will. He still forced her to cook, clean and manage the kids while working. I never liked that for my mom and it broke her down. We have to be honest about what is happening in Black households.

There was one statement made during this 41 minute convo that said it all and that was about being “limited” as a housewife. Being a housewife and a mother is not a limiting thing. Raising and guiding the next generation is not a limiting thing. It is a position on honor and reverence. For whatever reason, modern women no longer think of it this way. Their priority is almost never the family. It’s almost always themselves. They don’t believe in self sacrifice for the family. That’s a problem.
