I can't speak for the commenter, but while parenthood is expected to of people, they are given very little support in terms of funding for childcare (or stipends for domestic labor as stay at home parents). We don't given people adequate time off for having children in the US, people don't have enough sick days to take care of their kids when they are sick, and it's just overall really expensive and draining for a lot of people. So while people by and large don't go around saying "ew how dare you become a parent," we don't have the infrastructure to support families and children in the US.

So the question becomes, what happens when there’s billions of very old people and no young people left to work. The answer is that billions will die. Mass starvation, mass death from lack of medical care, etc. Governments will collapse from the loss of tax revenue and the explosion of welfare expenses. Children born today will pay the price for this.

People are paying 400K or half a million dollars for for homes. Cars are expensive. Education is expensive. And they wonder why there's a decline of births. It's so simple, it's getting harder to thrive. Plus our leadership doesn't care for anyone except their own agendas. I think we are preparing for the worst to come. It's certainly going to get worse. It's a global credit (debt) problem. The population was growing on a relatively shallow slope for hundreds of years. Once credit (debt) became easy, you see the population explode to the upside in the 1900s. This results in high education costs, high housing costs, high vehicle costs. All are a symptom of the use of credit and debt. Now the whole world is fighting inflation and very high costs of living. People don't care about relationships or building families when they have to find a way to support themselves first.

@@XYZ-bi9eb The perception of survival and self-preservation can be weaponized against individuals in a manner that will accelerate people's demise. This vulnerability arises from the functions of brain regions such as the amygdala, insula, periaqueductal gray, and ventromedial hypothalamus, which can render people susceptible to propaganda and misinformation campaigns. These campaigns amplify the perception of immediate danger, causing individuals to make irrational, fear-driven decisions.
For instance, companies often exploit health and safety concerns to market unnecessary or even harmful products. Similarly, predators can manipulate fear to drive their human prey into traps or more vulnerable situations. By leveraging these innate survival mechanisms, external entities can influence behaviors that ultimately lead to adverse outcomes.

The real issue is we are running low on resources.
Think about it. The Earth is a finite place with finite resources. Trees are renewable but we’re razing old growth forests and soon there will be no more, The Earth’s human population, however, is infinite. It will keep on growing and will depend on our fixed resources.
We are currently siphoning off the waters of the Colorado River, for human use, so that it now never even reaches the Gulf of California, which it used to rush into. With the decimation of our old growth forests in South America and Oceana, the reduction of livable and farmable land, major flooding in low-lying cities and coastlines caused by rising ocean waters, and the decimation of animal and plant species in our oceans and on land, just to highlight a few current and looming adversities, it’s clear we are already well overpopulated and growing exponentially.
We are eating and taking resources that mother nature cannot keep up with. Humans cuased overpopulation, pollution, burning fossil fuels, and deforestation. Changes like these have triggered climate change, soil erosion, poor air quality, and undrinkable water.
We are the issue and not being mean but with the populations going down is fixing the issues.
