I’m actually really feeling these. I like the simple color blocking and letting the diff materials and cuts stand out. Something different, yet also easy to wear given the cream, white, grayish hits mostly.

Hard to look at
First time I saw images of the shoe, I loved it. Wasn't necessarily because of the look but it was because how different it was! A lot of people hated it and like you mentioned, wanted/expected another colorway of the first two Union x AJ1s. I did myself. But seeing these I love how different they are and how union chose to go a completely different way than we all expected. Would love to get these and have another wild statement piece in my collection.
I actually totally love these - it's something tastefully different on a Jordan 1. Huge respect taking the leap.
Air Max 90 Woven was the first time I saw a woven material placed on a sneaker and it was also my first sneaker above 200$ and this was back in 2016.
So when I saw these AJ1's with almost the same woven effect(they used different materials from what I can see) I totally knew I'll need to cop them! Can't wait for August!

You’re right in that the Footscape is coming back later this year into next year, so this aligns with that rollout strategy. Nike already leaked some of those drops.

I did not like the first images of these, but I think this is gonna be one of those pairs. I just looks so much better in person. Thank you so much Seth for getting these in and giving us a review! You put in a lot of hard work for us, and I am very much love seeing these videos! This collab is such an enigma to me: I hated them when pictures first leaked, then start to dig them when better quality & on-foot shots started to surface. Now seeing them in action.... they've lost me again.
Perhaps if I see them in hand they will change my mind again. Although knowing how hype works these will DEFINITELY sell out.

Found it weird when the first leaks came out. However when the on foot pics came out, I really like them, especially with the yellow laces.

I think theses are so amazing. This definitely an advancement with the Jordan brand. They have been doing recolors with crazy names for a long time. It’s a great sight to see something envelope pushing. These shoes are fire.

The colours of these are amazing, the white, sail, yellow, grey and the green stitching works so well, possibly top 10 ever, i just get human centipede vibes from the weird stitches.

Thanks Seth! I HATED these at first but they grew on me and I am waiting on a pair from GOAT that I paid only $235 instant ship. The quality on these is what sold me. That and the fact that they are slept on because I hate wearing what everyone else is. I like to be different and I am glad these are sleepers. JB should have quality like this on every release but sadly it’s all about pumping out cheap sneakers and appeasing resellers. These are DOPE IMO and I cant wait to get them in hand. Just recently got a pair of these for 140 dollars… DS too. At first I was skeptical. But these really grew on me. Such a good color way. Them yellow laces really make it pop too. I got some mint ones on the way as well 🙏🏼

Nike are definitely going with the woven theme atm. Besides these and the sacai's, the J-force 1's that drop this week have a weird weave joining the upper and the outsole. Still undecided on the unions but good to see someone doing something different to the usual

These are such an excellent pair of shoes. I don’t get the hate. They’re unique but still a stylish and easy to match colorway. Once these are work in a little they’ll look perfect.

didn't like it at first but i have seen other people on here throw on some turquoise and yellow lace and i was sold on it. I love the fact that the color way is so simple the color lace will definitely pop the sneaker even more. I paid resale so im excited to try them on.

I think there cool trying something different I don’t necessarily like them though and won’t be going for them. I do however like the union ko lows that recently came out with interchangeable swoosh’s
I’m ordering these the day of even if I take an L on SNKRS and Nike apps and have to pay a little above retail on StockX 🔥. Nike Footscapes in itself are dope, so these are a no brainer for me.

Thanks for the in-depth review Seth. I’ll go for them given they grew on me and are different enough given I love to wear kicks that the masses aren’t wearing.
I share the thought with Seth because I know how Nike works when generating hype to try and sell more shoes. They’re using the woven pattern to generate interest/attention for their upcoming resurgence of the Footscape.

The color blocking is absolutely amazing... so nice I can somehow handle the for me unnecessarily complicated woven detail.

I imagine that the Sacai wasn't inspired by footscape, if at all loosely. It's woven but more of a baseball-style stitch. but I have heard that the footscapes were coming. I have seen posts
