Favorite candy bar is the Payday. I eat one almost every day, and right now finding a Payday in the local stores has become a major hunt. None of the grocery stores carry them at all. I have been buying them by the box online. Mounds comes in as a distant second. BTW--not even a mention of Baby Ruth?

@@rpc717 I think you might have had a 'Curly Wurly' candy bar, the British equivalent to the Marathon Bar. However, from the reviews I've read, the Curly Wurly is NOT a Marathon Bar by another name. The Curly Wurly is slightly different in taste and texture compared to a Marathon Bar.
I think you're right - but it was packaged as "Marathon" with the old red wrapper with yellow letters. It was so bad it might have been leftover from the '70s. 😭
Everybodys got a different opinion what they like and don't like. My fav since 1978 has been Whachamacallit. Love Scor/ Heath bar 2nd, and there's Crunch, Butterfingers, 100 Grand, Twix, then Snickers. Peanut M&M's isn't on the list but I like them better than Snickers, Milky Way, 3 Musketeers etc.
Some of my favorite candy bars include Kit Kats, Reese's, and Mr. Goodbar. However, I recently found a new favorite candy treat in the form of Reese's Sticks, which are basically Kit Kat bars with peanut butter added to them. I'd also recommend Nutty Buddies as an alternative to Reese's Sticks.
My favorite on the list is Probably Kit-Kat, but my #1 favorite candy bar of all time is a Goo Goo Cluster which contains contains marshmallow nougat, caramel, and roasted peanuts covered in milk chocolate.

I haven't had a Mounds or Almond Joy in quite a while, but their chocolate was never "bland and grainy". The only chocolate I've ever had that fit that description is Hershey's, but apparently they bought out Peter Paul (Mounds and Almond Joy), which would explain the problem.
$100,000 bar, that reminds me of the time when a hooters waitress was promised a brand new toyota if she won a beer sales contest at the restaurant. she won but was given a brand new toy yoda instead and ended up suing the restaurant.
Snickers is definitely my favourite on this list, of course I’ve tried all of these and all of them are unique in their flavours, my all time favourite candy bar would have to be oh henry, chocolate peanuts and caramel all together
@@bobprice9541 they get to be underwhelming and tasteless drivel like I’m eating dryish chocolate dirt and gravel with a hint of salt after about 5 seconds. They taste like the time period they came from. Piss poor
The Whatchamacallit - absolutely the best! I disagree with the order of the rest, but agree with most of the comments. Except for the Payday bar - definitely my go to snack in the afternoon.
Both Zagnut (which is one of my all-time favorites) & Clark bars are still around, but very hard to find. Try Amazon or Dylan's Candy Bar website. One of my other all-time favorites, the Mars Marathon bar (not to be confused with Snickers Marathon) hasn't existed since I was a kid. Someone suggested I try Cadbury Curly-Whirly, but it wasn't nearly as good.
Snickers almond and Hershey’s symphony, and payday’s are probably my top 3. The payday can definitely be substituted depending on craving though. The first two are just 🔥 😋
For being a chocoholic there isn't a candy bar that I haven't had from a kid until now so I don't get why a number of them are getting a bad rap. I can tell you that when I lived in Delray Beach Florida and would go bar hopping in Ft. Lauderdale, there's a candy store called To The Moon and they have a huge variety of candy that I can recall from days gone by that I'll purchase to satisfy my sweet tooth. Look them up on the internet and you'll see what I mean
If you need non-dairy or even if you don’t, check out the Go Max Go line of homages to the Mars line. Milk chocolate taste without the dairy milk. I like them better than the originals at least for my favorites: Jokerz (homage to Snickers) and Major (homage to Heath toffee bar). That may be the lack of allergic reactions talking, but they are more expensive than the originals and may simply have higher quality ingredients. I will buy a box of them to get through the candy-centric holidays, to avoid being tempted by the allergenic versions. If you are a coconut lover, Oskri has bars that are basically just sweetened coconut with other simple flavor options as well. I usually don’t like dark chocolate, but Oskri chocolate coconut bars are an exception. Just sweetened coconut enrobed in dark chocolate actually works even for me. If you need non-dairy caramel all on its own, the Cocomel line is great. They are based on coconut milk. They also have chocolate covered ones, but they are meh to me and although I tried them, won’t buy them again. The plain caramel ones are great, also in vanilla and java flavors.
Had to try a Take 5 on everyone’s recommendation, and I beg to differ. It does not stand out as the world’s greatest candy bar, and I give it a 6.5/10 … Reese’s chocolately coating is better than Nestle or Cadbury but worse than Hershey’s and Ferraro. The caramel is virtually undetectable, the waffle shaped pretzel not particularly impressive, as it is neither salty enough nor very fresh. Peanut pieces were nonexistent in the one that I got. Isn’t that supposedly the 5th element of the bar besides the PB? This is fun! Thanks so much 😊
The British are major sweets addicts. The candy section in British supermarkets is an entire aisle long. Their chocolate is typically European, that is to say, fabulous. Hail Britannia!
