- In this video I go over how easy it is to install a Garmin chartplotter / fishfinder on my Yamaha 210 FSH Sport. This project had already been completed but was never filmed. So, I detail how the install was accomplished as well as throw in some tips and tricks

Installing tonight, thanks for the info!
Awesome! My pleasure!
This is what I’m looking to do in a few weeks to my FSH. 1. Did you have to cut your transducer wire to feed it through the transom? 2. What is the fitting you used for you hole in the transom? Thanks for your time! Really appreciate the video
I did not cut my wire, I drilled a hole big enough for the plug end to fit through then drilled and tapped the mounting bolt locations. I used the same size hole saw bit for the transom. I dont remember the actual size but you want it just big enough for it to fit through, nothing larger. Make sure to use 3M 5200 to bond and seal everything. Im sorry I couldn't help further it was over a year ago when I did this.
Zack, did you get your job done? I just got my FSH210 and I’m looking to do the same set up. If you did, what did you use going through the transom? It’s the only thing in questioning. Thanks
Have you felt any lack of power with the tr1 twin engines? I’m torn between buying the 220fsh and the 222fsh. $10,000 to me seems like its not worth it for two more cylinders and a few more seat cushions in the 222 models. My plan is 75% lakes and 25% ocean bay up to 20 miles out. Any input is greatly appreciated brother.
To be honest I’m more than happy with the power. Unless you plan on having 6+ people on board at all times it’s plenty of power. When you get to the 6 or more people is when you loose a little power but still running mid to high 30s with gear and passengers. I hope this helps. Thanks for watching 🤙🏼
@@THEFSHDUDE that helps a lot. 30-32 is usually cruise speed in the ocean and best fuel economy as well. Thanks brother.. greatly appreciated.
I have a 190 fsh. With the location of the transducer does it effect any handling of the boat and does it get washes out at any speeds? Also are you able to use side scan on both sides? and what did you use to mount it to the ride plate? Thanks a bunch
Handling is not affected. No wash out 90% of the time. Sidescan works fine. Mounted it with the included hardware and 3m 5200. You need to drill through the plate and bolt directly to it.
Dealer says " technician suspects we will have to remove the jet plate in order to drill the holes for the transducer so that the drill does not “jump”. As you can see in the picture you sent of your boat where the wire connects to the transducer the “plug” is quite wide so in order to have the transducer sit flush on the plate we will need to drill a fairly large hole (likely about 2”). " How did you drill yours?
I drilled it installed. Removing it is ok too.
Does your Garmin have side scan? If so, are there any image problems with viewing? I'm struggling to decide where to mount my transducer to my FSH 210. I'm looking to purchase Lowrance Elite FS 9 Fish Finder with Active Imaging 3-in-1 Transducer
It does have side scan and I have not had any issues in the year that I have been using it.
Where did you buy the fittings to run the wire through? Specifically the 90 degree elbow one? I couldn’t find anything at Home Depot that will allow me to pass the plug through the 90 degree bend. Also, did you just use 3M to glue the transducer onto the plate?
Here is a fitting that is close to the one I was able to use amzn.to/3IXl03M mine came from a local shop and is similar to this one. I used 3m 5200 to secure/prevent water intrusion causing swelling AS WELL as bolted it to the plate. If you have instagram go to my page for pictures or I can message you them through there to give you a better idea.
@@THEFSHDUDE I used 5200 only on Tuesday for the transducer and took it out for a test today and it came off haha! Will definitely need to get the fast cure and see how you bolted it down
@@billding7997 lol yeah you need to drill and bolt through the plate. The 5200 is to seal it so that there is no water entrapment.
Hey man, I am installing this on my FSH, no issues with reverse, turns or sped causing interference? I got the same transom cable pass through and spades. What did you use on the jet plate mount?
I currently have a Simrad unit the previous owner installed and I get interference at speed with the traditional transom mount. I wanted to mount the Garmin In The location you recommend but thought I would double check
I believe I answered this for you on my instagram account. If that isn’t you let me know 🤙🏼
Any issues with it draining your batteries? I have 2 group 24 batteries that it will be running off of.
None at all. These have very minimal draw.
I love the videos is this possible How can I make contact with you
Thank you, I appreciate your support. I reply to all comments on here. Any questions you have feel free to ask.
