To be honest, I'm glad they threw the idea of having Camilo turn into his true self away. Not because I think it's a waste of time or that he's not worth the effort, I'd just rather believe that Camilo still holds his body (the same one he was born with) the whole time instead of having to pretend he was someone else. Though Camilo could still have some problems understanding his true identity, it's a relief to know that it haven't been that severe. I really hope he finds out who he is and who he truly wants to be.
Yeah. He can have identity issues but still be happy in his actual form. It would be cool if he had a small thing that he tried to hide, but I feel like making him unrecognisable would have been too much. He's a teenager and every teenager is still figuring themselves out. It's not something that only shapeshifters go through, and Camilo's gift isn't inherently problematic for him. Also, some people relate this to the idea of him being FtM, which I think is kind of transphobic (the connection, not the headcanon) because it implies that trans people's "true selves" are their AGAB and not the gender they identify as. I want to see Camilo learn to be himself no matter what form he takes, not just stop changing form altogether. His shapeshifting may not be all he is, but it's still part of who he is. I also want to see him get into theatre.
@@doritodorito492 SAME. Camilo's Identity issues could have been such a great concept for the movie, and I would like it if they explored Pepa's side of the family a little more as well. But you know because of the time that they had, but it still would have been interesting to see at least some internal conflict that Camilo is dealing with or something.
I think its good that he was not ling about his true identity but I wish they did a little more on Papas side of the family because it would be interesting to know more about Camilo Dolores and Antonio but it would be to much if Camilo was hiding his true identity and that would take away from the rest of the movie they could of fit in more time for Papas family branch they had 21 minutes of ending credits so they could of done that but the end result of the movie was really good so I am glad they did what they did
I mean, I actually would like to know where that could lead us, not in the sense of what was his "true" form, but the original one. It was mentioned in the comments that it might be problematic for trans people that identify as him but I think it could be exactly the opposite, showing that you don't necessarily need to conform to how you came into this world and that your "original" self isn't your "true" self, but just another point in your journey of self discovery. So, in that sense, maybe he is different and people start accusing him of faking his appearance and whatnot but by the end of the movie he both learns to accept himself however he is but at the same time that he should be however it makes him feel the best, even if that means some body interventions, which are only bad if done for reasons other than the person's own happiness. I mean, I don't think Disney would ever run with that but it is a great headcannon
WAIT.... so what you're saying is, in the alternate Camilo ending... his OWN PARENTS don't even recognize what THEIR OWN SON looked like BEFORE he got his gift?? yooo that's messed up
The thing with Camilo kinda explains to me why his door was the only one with a younger version of himself. Everyone else's doors looked like how they looked at present but if you see Camilo's, it's not the same. Made me wonder if he was gonna change when the magic disappeared but he didn't and it left me really confused.
Maybe because he started transforming to another Person when he was a little kid a never came back to his true self so the door didn't know what he really would look like after all these years
I like the mural ending, I think it would have been a little more clear Abuela's realization moment. No mention of Bru... Oh, right, we don't talk about him... Very interesting, Jan!!! Keep those deleted scenes coming!!! Thanx!!!
I think the thing with Camilo could be a great reveal/plot point for the character in a later film. The shock that we don't know what his true self looks like would be even more of a shock to the audience if we first (thought we) got to know him better.
I hope so even if his physical body doesn't change I can see him struggling with what his true identity really is and that he feel like he has to be other people and never himself
Yeah. I really wnat to know what Disney planed to have him look like if they went with that plottwist. I also had heared that there was goign to be a part where we got to see his room but it was cut.
I would have loved to see that alternative ending for Camillo because his character description was just "doesn't fully know himself yet". Which could lead to "masking up" and "acting up" as someone he thought could be the version of him that people would truly accept and loved. And stripping of this "power" to literally be someone else everytime could be a turning point for him. To really see himself as him and not some sugar-coated character he invented. I would have love that. And maybe that could help to create Encanto 2 where they could have address this things more.
Yea I agree. Also the fact that Luisa Isabella and mirabel were the ones stressed but somehow Dolores camillo and Antonio seemed more or less fine, makes it seem like mirabel's mom was the issue not abuela. I would have rather had the camillo content to show how widespread in the family the issues were tbh
I understand having to scrap the Camilo sudden twist ending because it needed to be focused on finishing up the loose ends with the main character, but he IS the only member of the grandchildren that have received a gift previous to the film by at least a few years who does not receive a song or tell his story at all. Even Antonio has a larger part in the film and he's like five. I really would have loved to see Mirabel sort of treat him as a "behind the scenes" "invisible" character only for him to reveal how stifled, and worthless he feels. Because when you are constantly expected to take on the shape, form, personality, appearance of other people in order to please the people important to you - its a given that you will start to wonder why can't they just want you to be you.. what makes you so unwanted that you have to transform into someone else in order to help? Or in order to receive praise? I think he really could have done a lot about independence, imposter syndrome, depression, etc.
@@tosinakin2508 She gets larger parts in other songs that describe her struggle with her love life, which isn't the same but it is a momentary spotlight that Camilo does not have. She also deserved one!
@@tosinakin2508 not a solo song, but she does get focus. Every gifted character has a plot point, issue, or emotional baggage we learn about. Except Camillo
Now that you said it, Luisa and Camilo whom are both the middle child in their family are actually the ones who tend to rely on their gifts than others do, I sorta can imagine him also saying "I'm pretty sure I'm worthless if I can't be on service" from Surface Pressure 😭
Honestly in my opinion I think Pedro should've talked to Mirabel on the river scene. It's just to me that his spirit could just communicate with her, and after they were done talking Abuela would come and Pedro would just disappear. These are the words I was thinking "Your family doesn't think less of you, Mirabel. Your Abuela is upset and just wants the best for you and the family. My sacrifice was for Abuela, so my kids could have a longer time to live. So Mirabel please just stop trying to hard to impress. you impress me by being you." Then Mirabel replies saying "Thank you, Abuelo. That means so much to me. *cries*" and then they hug each other. That would just be interesting for me.
Wow yes that would have been very interesting. I think though it would have meant Abuela didn't actively participate in her own redemption, even though I wasn't super-sold on how quickly Abuela was redeemed in the final film anyway.
you story is cute but remember the events are happening according to Bruno's extended vision. You need to think about that story in accordance to Bruno's vision. Don't you think that Pedro's spirit would've shown up in the vision after the butterfly revealed itself. Then the person shown to be embracing Mirabel would've been Pedro , then the Isabela thing wouldn't have happened. the scene you pictured about Pedro hugging Mirabel , that scene would've derailed the whole point of Alma's backstory being told during Dos Oruguitas. Then "Dos Oruguitas" wouldn't exist. it also would've also prevented the song "All of You" from existing and the ending of the movie wouldn't have made sense. even Bruno wouldn't have reunited with the family. basically it would've derailed the last scenes completely. In the original concepts of Encanto, it is believed that Agustin was the one who actually found the magical candle and produced Casita from it and was the one who handed down the gifts to the family.
ehhh it seems kinda cliche since they already pulled the “dead relative comes back to encourage heart broken hero” thing with moana and her grandmother. I personally think alma opening up to mirabel makes for a better ending because it gives depth to her character instead of being some half assed villian u get to empathize with her. Just like mirabel we get to finally see why she is the way she is and whilst it’s definitely not an excuse (the movie never paints it that way) you can see she wants to be better and that starts with apologizing to mira
@@WatchPoppy69 Not to be rude, but Abuela did tell Mirabel about Pedro and her. And also in Bruno's vision during the movie it shows that not only did he show her that Isabela and Mirabel would embrace, but he also showed her a butterfly landing on a plant which if my opinion was to happen the butterfly would represent the moment. And also the song "All of you would actually happen, because I didn't finish my opinion. So after Pedro talked about Mirabel "being herself" Abuela Alma would come and explain that she is sorry and mostly what happened in the movie. Which I mean what she said to apologize minus the story of her and Pedro. Then Bruno would come and yeah. Sorry for the confusion.

"Pedro's fate was already pretty dark for a Disney movie." Bambi's mom, Mufasa, The Evil Queen, Maleficent, Mother Gothel, Gaston, Moana's grandma, Elsa and Anna's parents, and everyone else: "I guess we're alive. 🤷♂️"
I meant for a character who wasn't a villain, though I realise I didn't make that clear! :-) But yes, Bambi's mum, Moana's grandma, and Frozen parents were certainly very sad Disney moments.
Don't forget Ursula and her sister. Ursula getting pierced through the chest by that Erics ship gave me nightmares as a kid. And Morgana (Ursula's sister) was frozen alive then drowned in the deep sea.
The alternate ending for Camilo would kinda explain why his door shows his younger self and not his current self like the others. Like when he got his gift he was excited and was changing his appearance a lot, but then he forgot who his true self was and couldn’t change back, so he made up someone that would fit in the family regarding appearance.
I would love to see Abuela's reaction in a second movie to the mural of Pedro after everything that happens in the first movie. I like the theory that Maribel is the candle's successor and I also like to think Pedro was part of the candle in picking out gifts for his family and saw that Maribel was someone that could also see his family the way he did. Hopefully that makes sense and a second movie will confirm that.
I just started watching this movie & I am in the first 30 Min & I already HATE the grandmother that does not value a member of the family UNLESS she can use that person. She asks " Why the house is in trouble" i know its a CARTOON with that said every movie has a element of the real world. She deserve whats wrong. The girl in glasses is doing her best & I bet you the so called FAMILY will care when the issues of the house effects them then the girl with the glasses WILL act like the classy woman she is & go the extra 20 Miles to help, that family does not deserve her.
@@mohamedmadnia1907 i haven’t seen this movie in ages and I think you’re right. Maribel tries to prove she’s special every day, and her grandmother glosses right over that. However, because of this Maribel thinks she’s the cause of all the trouble. You’ll find out at the end of the movie. And just to be clear, Maribel is the girl in glasses.
Honestly would imagine his true self to just look like a really tired version of what he normally looks like ( bags under his eyes, slightly slouched, ect.)
I wish they'd kept the mural ending. I actually cried hearing about that wheras I only cried at the the river scene because of Dos Orugitas playing in the background. If you removed Dos Orugitas there I would have just been staring with my typical blank face. The mural I probably would've cried either way. I feel that the fact that they NEEDED Dos Orugitas just to evoke emotion just takes away from how amazing that scene COULDVE been, even with the music.
With all the alternatives stuff they could have done most of it. Have abuela look for mirabel and end up and the river where a mural should have been place for his memorial. Then abuela crying and her hair Turning to a river leading to mirabel, her following it back revealing abuela's past while playing Dos Orugitas. Idk, but that's my take on it. I also, when the song started to play, started to get a lil emotional. It also would've shown how the community would thank the family, rather than looking like they are taking advantage of their gift.
It does just make more sense from a writing standpoint, on top of it being far more emotional. This gives me the same vibes as Biggering from the Lorax, where they had a fantastic and almost objectively better scene planned out, only to scrap it and dumb it down
I thought what happened at the river was pretty sad, I would have cried if it was just orchestral. The song definitely evokes feelings better than the scene does but I think it would in almost any scene, it's just that good. Alma relates the tragedy to Mirabel for the first time. Mirabel realizes Abuela has been carrying the sorrow by herself and carrying the family by herself. I like the simplicity of the scene. Plus for Alma to go away and discover the mural there would have to be a whole catalyst and she would have had to take responsibility when the whole film is about her avoiding responsibility and Mirabel giving her the space to admit it. I like the feel of many of the ideas here but they belong to a less mainstream film unfortunately. The one we got is still pretty good though. Especially if you know how silently Latino families can suffer through things. You'd think they were British hahaha
I’m pretty sure another reason the alternate Camilo ending wouldn’t have worked is that since it’s a Disney movie, a lot of younger children would be watching and probably wouldn’t understand. They’d ask where the shapeshifter went and would get it unless explained
Eh, I don't think kids are as unobservant as people think. Super young kids sure, like 4 or younger, but they notice a lot more than people think. If anything, some might of related to the feeling of not knowing who you are yet, especially at a younger age where you are still developing.
The scene where it talked about abulela having magical river hair reminded me of a story i use to hear as a child about a grandma who had such long hair that every thing would get stuck in it , She was helpful , kind and loved to cook for her grand children
i reeally like the version "a mural for pedro" if the "a mural for pedro" in the film that would make the film so emotional and i would like the film so muchh
Well, to be honest, I'd think Pedro himself should've talked to Mirabel on the river part. And it would've been a lot more clear about Abuela's realization. And I also like the mural ending, plus, loved the theory of Camilo. And it's so shocking that we don't know what his true-self looks like... And I do agree that we should have got a capybara post-credits scene.
The dark butterfly concept is pretty good but on the night that Mirabelle went to bed after she got healed she could of had a nightmare about the casita crumbling and black butterfly swarming I think that would’ve been pretty cool
I think if the loss of the home had been done earlier, the Camilo scene would of actually been really cool and poignant. The mural helping Abuela realize where she went wrong should of been in the movie. She had too quick of a turn around given her 60+ years of acting as she had. Plenty of people drew parallels to abusive family members and gaslighting through Abuela's treatment of Mirabelle. I also think the family should of learned to get along with out the miracle, like the miracle was there to help them when they struggled, but now they were stronger than ever and it was time to say good bye. A sort of coming of age, but for every age, every family. This way Camilo's identity plot would of worked, the mural would of worked and the focus could still mainly be on Mirabelle because Abuela declares her the miracle for helping the family realize that they no longer needed the magic, that they are strong as a family and chooses her to take her place when she's gone as well as it's the gift she should of gotten all along.
I’m honestly kinda glad they didn’t go with Camilo’s ending. Don’t get me wrong, it sounds like an amazing plot point, but for a character with such little screen time…idk, it probably wouldn’t have done it justice. If there was a sequel about Pepa’s family, it would be more fitting to have the whole identity crisis story arc.
I think the true self of Camillo would have needed his character rewritten a bit through the whole film. Whenever he shapeshifts, it's clear he treats it like a costume and preserves his personality pretty much throughout his performances.
I love the theory of Camilo ! The way to keep a good looking image, really interesting but if it was true I don't think he would still have his good looking face when the Casita is broken and they don't,t have their power anymore ?!🤨
As much as I love Camilo (No I am not a simp), I do think that it was better that they discarded the concept of him turning into his 'true form'. I do think it would've been interesting and do like the idea, and while it would've added more depth and relatability to his character, it would've not only taken away from Mirabel's moment but most likely leave plenty of plot holes and many questions which would be a bit too much to squeeze into one conclusion. Also, it could confuse younger children because they would most likely not understand why Camilo did what he did or not recognize him with his 'true form.' However, I wrote a little I guess, fanfiction if Camilo really DID alter his appearance. Keep in mind, this is just a little story I decided to write, and it would probably not make it as a real scene considering how many thoughts there are and how long it is, please do tell me if you enjoyed it though! *(I found a comment and thought the scene was extremely well-written, so I took a lot of inspiration from it! Here's the original comment: Sarah's Musical Selections 1 day ago (edited) I'm sort of glad they didn't go through with that ending for Camilo. I think it's a great concept, but the movie didn't need to be too crowded, I'm glad the moment was spent on Mirabel. The only alternative would be if it was intentionally meant to be short. Like... Pepa: - squints to the distance, then runs to an unfamiliar boy crying in the rubble. - Honey, where are your parents, you need help- Camilo: but you're my- no... Pepa: - she realizes that that voice is the exact same, a flash of horror passes across her face as she grabs her little boy's hand - A moment of silence passes, and Camilo realizes his mother is crying. Pepa: why did you - Camilo: I didn't mean for it to go this far. Again, what I wrote is inspired by this comment, so credits to @Sarah's Musical Selections )* Here's what I wrote now: ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Pepa squinted into the distance, trying to spot her son while the remains of her beloved home rested against her feet. As she continued to search for her child, her gaze settled on an unfamiliar boy who looked to be crying in the rubble. Though she didn't have her gift, she was still capable of helping the townsfolk, so she hurriedly ran toward the broken boy. "Mijo, what are you doing here all alone? We need to find your parents. You need help..." She said softly, trying not to trigger the young child. It took the sun-kissed teenager a moment to reply. Soon, he took in a shaky breath as he looked up at her, his eyes shining with tears that were threatening to spill all over again. "B-but you're my-..." He almost seemed confused as to why his own mother couldn't recognize him when, all of a sudden, his head dropped down to look at his hands. They were a soft light brown, but not the same tone he'd worn for the past 10 years. No... That word invaded his thoughts, almost as if it was on a loop. That specific word kept shouting in his head. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Pepa recognized that voice, and she would never forget it. That same voice that would soothe her, that same voice that would support her, that same voice that would make up ridiculous jokes just to lighten the mood when things got tense. That was her little boy's voice, she knew it was. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Camilo soon snapped out of his trance as a familiar pair of pale hands grabbed one of his own, a teardrop landed on his soft skin, but it wasn't his. He looked up to meet his mother's eyes, they were brimmed with tears that shimmered like diamonds and they soon ran down her face like a waterfall. It wasn't easy for him to see his Mami in such a state. He wanted to comfort her and let her know everything would be fine, but he couldn't. *He couldn't...* The young lad was... he didn't know. He truly didn't know what he was feeling. On one hand, he wanted to break down, let everyone know the truth as he drowned in the tears he'd hidden away all these years. He wanted to scream about how he'd altered his appearance as a child, the same night his ceremony ended. Oh, he would never forget that day... His childish mind wasn't thinking straight, he remembered everything. He remembered looking into the mirror and narrowing down the amount of freckles on his face so they were almost invisible, he remembered changing the tint of his maple skin, he remembered changing the size of his nose, he remembered making himself incredibly skinny though he was already petite, he remembered making his hair a different texture, he remembered playing around with his facial structure until he was satisfied, but most of all, he remembered how unhappy he was, how his appearance affected the way he thought, which no child should have to go through. On the other hand, he wanted to continue bottling it all up, so he wasn't seen as a burden. For heaven's sake! He should've been grateful for even being treated like a member of the family, unlike his prima, who he'd abandoned all those years ago! He wanted to convince himself that everything was fine, that he was okay, because he was... right? Right?! His mind was swirling with thoughts like a hurricane, destroying anything positive. *Clear skies, clear skies, clear skies...* he thought to himself. All of a sudden, a warm hand cupped his cheek sweetly, wiping away a teardrop he didn't even realize fell from his eyes. He looked up again at his mother, the person he usually comforted. "Why would you-" Her voice cracked on the last word, she couldn't hold it in, this was not a "clear skies" situation. This was about her little troublemaker, her chameleon, her *son.* Camilo tried to avoid eye contact, but eventually found himself giving in. He never meant for any of this to happen, he never meant to transform his body and not change back. He genuinely never realized that the Camilo he and everyone had seen for the past 10 years was just a costume, a role. He buried his head in his mother's shoulder, trying to stifle his crying. *"I never meant for it to go this far..."* he whispered and continued by sobbing into Pepa's warm-colored dress. And that was all it took for her heart to shatter. Pepa had always thought that Camilo was her happy child, her smiling little sun. He radiated joy and laughter. Whenever he walked into a stiff room, all he had to do was make a simple joke and everyone would automatically lighten up. She always described him as a ray of sunshine. He would always take care of children in order to give their parents a break, be considered the 'jokester' of the family, and he would go to any extent just to make someone smile, a real genuine smile. But who was ever there to make sure that *he* did? Certainly not her. She'd been so focused on her other children and their struggles, how Dolores was heartbroken after Bruno's vision and the pain she went through with her sound sensitivity, how Antonio was slowly becoming anxious and stressed over whether he'd get a gift or fail the family, but she'd never given any thought to what Camilo could've been going through. It hurt to know that she didn't even realize he'd changed the way he looked even though she was his own *mama.* Though she did feel incredibly guilty, Pepa also knew it wasn't entirely her fault. She'd never gotten to spend too much time with her children as she always tried repressing her emotions due to her ability, but now that 'miracle' was gone. Now, she was free to feel whatever she wanted. Pepa knew she would be considered 'late' by many others, but she was still determined to become a better parental figure towards Camilo, she would not let him make the same mistake she made when she was younger by bottling everything up. Her boy was fifteen now, but it was never too late to become a better mother, and she would start right here by holding her little chameleon in her arms, protecting him from any danger and letting him cry as much as he needed. She would do *anything* to protect her children. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- And that's a wrap! I'm considering writing more for this... It's pretty fun! Tell me what you think. Also, I don't want anyone thinking that I'm bashing Pepa, this is simply what I think SHE would feel. Since Pepa is a pretty emotional person, I think she'd feel guilty for the slightest of things or for something that wasn't even her fault. She's a great mother as displayed in the movie, but I think that she'd definitely feel upset with herself if she found out all this about Camilo.
I'm sort of glad they didn't go through with that ending for Camilo. I think it's a great concept, but the movie didn't need to be too crowded, I'm glad the moment was spent on Mirabel. Pepa: why did you- Camilo: I didn't mean for it to go this far. But personally, I would love to see a version of this concept in a sequel or TV series!
i feel like for all movies they should take all of their scraps and put it all into one movie. i just feel like it would be good to see how it would have turned out if they didn't change up things. encanto is a great movie and i could never get tired of it but i just think they should start making just one movie with the scraps.
Euh well. If they went through with Camilio's idea he would become a lot more relatable for a lot of people. Me included. But... it would raise so much questions and also destroy our view of Pepa and Felx. I mean Pepa I wouldn't hold it against her because she is too busy with the clouds. But Felix...how can't he notice? It depends on when Camilo decided to stop using his normal body (5 year old? 11?) It might make everyone instantly shadier and the movie wouldn't have time to adress it properly. And since the power disappeared and he kept the same body, they won't be able to use that idea in sequels.
I mean, they COULD, but they'd have to get extremely creative with it. For example: when he lost the magic, he got trapped in whichever form he used last, and he just barely got into that fake form at the exact moment the magic was lost, so he was trapped in that body.
I have freckles, mostly I like them, but if I could shapeshift, one morning a particular large annoying one would disappear overnight. My aunt wasn't allowed to dye her hair, so she peroxided it in stages so nobody would notice it lightening until it was too late. Over a year you could quietly make any number of very slight changes which at the end of it would result in you looking like a totally different person with even your nearest and dearest none the wiser. Gain or lose a couple pounds or inches, change your hairstyle in stages, permanently pluck your eyebrows into a different shape a couple unwanted hairs at a time, lighten or darken eye color....the list is endless and nobody would notice because it was that gradual and people don't really pay attention until you slap them with a photo of the old you. If you were a shapeshifter anyway? Nobody would be able to keep track after throwing in other people's looks into the mix. They aren't simply aren't going to realize you lightened your eyes three shades if you go dark brown to turn into somebody else and don't change them all the way back. They'll just notice that they look light enough and assume it was the original shade. If you were a kid they were expecting to grow and change? Yeah, not their fault for not noticing at all. Even photographs weird out colors depending on lighting and the human memory is, as a general rule, not that exact. Add people struggling with PTSD issues into the mix, which messes with short term memory, they simply won't be able to remember that kind of minor detail swap. Most people simply aren't observant of nonessential details even on good days. They only notice off changes if there's been a lot of them over a year or three that they haven't been around for.
1 they live in a huge ass house I wouldn't be surprised if for example they just forgot about Antonio for a week because they all got their own shit their rooms can fit entire towns 2 body issues can start as young as three so five or elven isn't to far of a stretch 3 The time-line would have been right when everything hit with bruno from the little we know it seemed to effect pepà highly therfore Felix not noticing is shitty but understandable 4 if he did concisely want to change he could simply do it little things day by day especially when he becomes a middle child if he just changed once a day and had around 680 attempts at the minimum and around 10 years to have them sink in it makes sense But yeah tons of plotholes n shit
@@rhyfess8429 you have a point. It's true that noticing minor changes without a photo(to compare it to) is very hard I mean you get gut feeling once in a while. But most people ignore their gut feeling until it become impossible to ignore.
Or they knew all along and just decided to give him some time to find himself. So it’d still be a surprise to us that we never knew his _actual_ appearance and it also would’ve been a surprise to his family that he finally came to terms with himself.
I am glad they scrapped Camilo turning into a completely different true form but I do think it would have been a bit amusing if he had become slightly shorter or something, like just a small difference that he chose to make to look 'better'
I’m not sure if anyone else noticed on Pedro’s mural, but the year he was born and the year he passed was on there. The year he passed was 1900, so we can only guess that Abuela was around the same age (25-28 years old) and as she is around 75-years old in the film, it would have taken place in the 1950s, making Julieta, Bruno and Pepa 50-years old.
I would love to see that Camilo ending… It would add more depth to his character how he thinks that his true form is not up to their expectations that his natural form is not good enough so he needs to hide who he is and pretend he’s another person that would’ve had a lot of cool depth to him it would be really fascinating and interesting to see that turn out
I imagined a plot where Camilo met and became friends with a girl who had a leg problem so she had to walk with crutches and in general did limping, by the way she and Camilo development feelings for one another (though both wouldn't admit it at first) but she felt hurt because she felt like he was ashamed of her disability. I don't know, but i thought it could have be cute and interesting see Camilo having a disabled crush/girlfriend knowing about his grandma's obssesion with "perfection"
The concept when she waa going to fight with her mom, was also that her mom would of died when the house went down. And another concept is once Mirabel ran away, her mom was going to yell at abuela, calling her out.
I spent a good chunk of the movie angry with Mirabel’s parents. Why they didn’t step up and protect their daughter is beyond me. Would have loved to see that addressed in the ending.
If you had a Latino family you'd know. The matriarch is highly highly respected, it's preloaded software. Plus the big conflicts only happened during the screen time which was over the course of like two days or so. But I agree, a healthy confrontation was in order. But the way it played out the whole family was healed. Sometimes that's how life works, we aren't in control when we should be but grace uses it for the better.
well they does. Julieta specifically asks abuela on stairs to be patient with mirabel during antonio's gift day. Her father too tries supporting mirabel in kitchen.
Generation trauma, Agustin trusted his wife and isn’t much of a fighter in cannon, preferring to stay away from fights, while Julieta grew up with this trauma and issues, so she probably was used and desensitized to it, so she doesn’t react because it’s normal in her mind(and matriarchs and mothers are heavily respected in Latino and other traditional family’s and cultures/ethnicity’s.)
I wonder if some aspects of the mural scene could be considered canon; like the years of Pedro’s life. If he died in 1900, and the triplets are 50 exactly in the movie, it’d take place in 1950. Antonio would have been born in 1945, and since Isabel is an adult, she would have been born in the early 1930s
I feel like the Camillo scene could've been a nice background easter egg, like the one where Dolores can be seen clapping with her fingers. We could've seen an annoyed Camillo fumbling with a loose stand of his hair or struggling to keep his poncho on his shoulder without it falling off. Or maybe even change his eye colour for that one scene. He clearly cares about his appearance and I don't believe he wouldn't use his powers to alter it ever so slightly to appear a bit more perfect, hahah
I would have loved to see the Julieta vs Mirabel ending as it would have hit me harder as someone who struggles with my relationship with their mother. But I’m satisfied with the one we got, since the message still hit me close to home.
I think it would be impossible with the flow of the story, they show more of a good relationship with Mirabel and Julietta, they should have shown more conflict if they were going down that routye
I like the idea of the monument for Pedro. ❤️ However, I think they did a good job at least letting us know how Abuela lost sight of the gift she and her Family was given. She also apologized to her Granddaughter, Maribel.
Y'all ever notice that in the end of the movie where the house came back to life and everyone had their powers back, Camilo doesn't shapeshift into anyone else? I think that means that he has finally accepted his true self and will only shapeshift if needed 💙
If we're going with the concept of them working on the house for months instead of just one song, maybe he had a bit of an identity crisis during that time and the family helped. It would be fun to explore that period of time when the family didn't have powers during a second movie or series to see what it did to the family.
That would have been so interesting, and such a good jumping off point for a sequel. But it would have killed the momentum of the story. At the climax, we stop Mirabel's story to show us something that was never even hinted at about a character who was basically a sight-gag the whole film.
Camilo's one wouldve been hella weird. Not only would it take off the point of abuela and mirabel and the distruction of the house, but didnt we see how he looked like on the wall? Based on the picture he wouldve looked similar to almost exactly like how he looks on the wall. Not only that but if he was 10 years old he wouldnt even be able to describe how Bruno looks like which makes no sense in the song since he wouldnt even be born yet. Idk it sounds like a good concept to use in a completely different movie, but its best if it wasnt used in this
Everybody is talking about Camilo’s alternate thing But nobody’s talking about the house burning down like imagine the house just burns down and all of a sudden u see a black Figure Like bro that’s terrifying to think about.
I think a good idea for a sequel would be for members of Pedro's family from before he got married to alma coming from beyond the cracked mountain and causing drama between the madrigals. They could be holding on to the memory of pedro too tight like alma was with her family in the first film. They could use the mural in the sequel to show just how much of an impact he had on both sides of the mountain
Honestly all these variations of casita and how they would’ve showed the magic fading, truly is awesome, so many great ideas they really should give the Madrigals their own series😭
Oh wow ngl the one early concept scene of Alma and Pedro has blew my mind. if the triplets actually was born by the river just the second after Pedro's death that's would be too much for a disney movie.the song Dos Oruguitas got me everytime whenever i listened to it I never attached so much to a song before, usually I'll just cried for the first time when i heard a song but this one just hits different,it makes me cried harder each time, and it's actually pretty sad if that even Pepa and Felix doesn't know how Camilo actually looks like.
@@FlicksAndTheCity But if they do, the storyline will be much more creative than the other movies does tho i mean the one we have now it's good too, somehow this story became my mental therapy
Honestly, the idea with Camilo could potentially be built on in a sequel. Camilo gets stuck in his Pre-Gift form, and he struggles over it- the idea of his birth form being so different from the form he chose; the struggle of everyone coming to terms with the fact that they forgot what he used to look like, with the Gift maybe being responsible for part of it; the fact that his entire power is based on 'being anyone at all, except for himself'; feeling like he's being punished by the Casita and/or Mirabel (because of his power suddenly not working); and the journey (maybe not even a physical one, but one like in the first movie, a journey to come to terms with everything); the mounting pressure that 'maybe [he] should stay this way, since this is who he really is.' And then deny the idea that he has to return to being that person just because he was born in that body, and him declaring- as he retakes the form we believed to be his normal form for the duration of Encanto- with the support of Mirabel and Casita that, "this *IS* my true self." There's more than a few things that this could be seen as being relatable to, and they could, of course, lean even harder in the direction of it being a gender thing. Or just leave it as a generic "only you can define who you are" type thing.
Personally I think they could've kept he scene where Camillo's 'true self' gets revealed after the fall of the Casita. After all that shifting, he might have forgotten the exact feaures of his face, her the exact feeling of his toes, the curl of his hair. Small things, so insignificant they are worh forgetting about, but still important enough that he'd look different enough to be noticable, and he could just look really relieved, touching his face, and there would have been no need to explain or draw away from Mirabel, since he would still look he same on a glance, just his features would look "right", for once. That could also tie into a very small subplot, just hinted at, where Camillo seems 'wrong' or just plain uncomfortable, with feaures slightly shifting the entire time, indicating him searching for himself. Three would be no need to explain, since only a keen eye would see it. It would be a fun litle easter-egg! Also, the mural would have been nice to see.
i think they could've included some of the "darker" scenes, but my generation got movies like brave little toaster, land before time, homeward bound, follow that bird, the fox and the hound, an american tail, secret of nimh, little nemo, and soo many more. you can definitely tell that millennials are gaining influence in children's media
im glad they scrapped the Camilo thing because it would be a huge distraction from mirabel, but I do wish they included him more in the film. maybe if they included that concept in an Encanto 2? that would be cool! like if they focused more on pepa's side of the family in the sequel instead of julieta's
Yknow, i kinda wish Camillo was *almost* the same, but with one or two differences. Nothing huge, but like, maybe he had a crooked nose or a bad haircut or a mole or something. Just a quick moment where one of his siblings notice and go "...Really?" And then back to the drama. Could gave a moment later after the powers come back where he changes to look 'better' then visibly changes his mind and is his true self in the family picture in the end. It would really round things out and give the last Madrigal grandkid their own character growth without taking away from the plot.
OKAY. BUT SECOND MOVIE IDEA!? - Invaders Attack Again ( Descendants of Them, Seeking Glory For Their Parents ) - Mirabel and Camilo are the first ones to find out, they panic, they're kids they don't know what to do - Dolores didn't quite catch this, she was conversing with the others ( As seen in the movie, she had to focus on a certain person to hear them instead of a mix of everyone, when Alma asks about Mariano and Isabella's date ) - Camilo Freaks Out on Mirabel, unknowing of what to do in the situation - Mirabel reassures him and they head back to Casita. Meanwhile, The family was already sitting down for breakfast by the time the two make it back, they question the cousins and they both panic. "Don't worry about it. Just some kids wanting Camilo's attention!" Mirabel lies, laughing it off. - The two of them have to work together to find out more about these invaders and if they're the real deal before telling their family about it - They are the real deal and Camilo gets hold of information (when the invaders plan to attack) they retreat to Casita where they spill the beans to the family, causing slight panic amongst everyone in the household, even Casita itself And that's all I got so far. This was literally a minute thought. So, uh, yeah.
The camilo plot could be an entire different movie. Or special. Because it would have taken away from the plot of the movie, like it would have made the movie go all over the place.... But, yeah Disney's could make a special about camilo and stuff. The movie was very good, kept the focus on the family understanding each other was the right thing to do. My fav was Louisa dang she can step on me pls!
I think they could somewhat use these if they make a series because they could also go into it with “family needs time to heal” vs a instant forgiveness we see it shows the trial and trauma the family goes through , could still mainly touch on mirabel but also show some of these ideas like alma and the others. That slip ups happen, etc.
I know this sounds off topic but Encanto is by Disney and The Incredibles is by Pixar right? Well I have theory, I know I probably won’t have evidence of this but Could The Incredibles actually be descendants of the madrigals? Think about it, Disney does like to Easter eggs and Crush from Finding Nemo did make a cameo in Moana. Luisa and Mr Incredibles do have something in common….They both have SuperStrength.
They’re also whole different ethnicities, and the wife and husband have powers where in encanto the people that marry into the family don’t get any powers. For your theory to be true mr and Mrs incredible would have to be incest
maybe encanto takes place in 1950 in a isolated part in colombia and maybe in encanto 2 something happens and it becomes not isolated , which reluts to someone marrying a american and then maybe the gift didn't pass until 50 years later to the incredibles
@@Irenemain that doesn’t make sense to me. How did both mr and mrs incredible get the gift if they can’t both be directly related to the madrigals. I also don’t think that all of their Colombian features can be erased in 50 years of whitewashed marriage
I hate and I mean I HATE how fans (and even Disney) try to "tie it all together." Why? Especially with the Easter eggs they put into the film's. They used to be just fun "where's Waldo" type moments now everyone has to try to link everything. Ugh.
Holy shit, they thought of so many incredible concepts. How did they choose? They are all so great. It’s impossible because they’re too many ideas and visuals to fit in the movie but I still wish we got parts of ALL of these ideas. All the different ways la casita expresses its condition and Abuela’s river hair all sound and look so amazing
I did noticed that only mirable's sisters feel pressured with their gifts while their cousins seems to handle it well. Which is pretty funny considering mirabel's mom is more comfortable with her gift than pepa. It's a shame because they can expand more on the cousins too but ig that'll take way too long. Like, how hard it is for dolores to hear everything even if she didn't want to. At first I thought camilo doesn't have an issue with his gift but after I learned about the alternate ending, it makes a lot of sense. Antonio is still a child so he doesn't feel any sort of pressure. Also abuela doesn't seems to put too much pressure on the cousins. Idk with all the deleted scenes, they could definitely use those if they wanna make a second one
Alternate ending that disney is too afraid to produce: Mirabel finally has enough and is now the villain. She realizes Bruno didn't leave, he was shunned, and now they are doing that to her. And she burns down the house, with these last words: "Should've talked about Bruno..."
Encanto 2: The Suffering Dolores: wants everything to Turn down, stop this Curse Camilo: has a Identity Crisis Abuela: dies and Mirabell becomes the New Keeper Pepa is -at the brink of insanity- wait that already happend Bruno: Bruno Happy The Village is discovered By mountain climbers seeing a Colorful village

agreed. That couldve been the mid credit scene, and leave the family photo for the true post credit scene.
Yes. Yes we did
To be honest, I'm glad they threw the idea of having Camilo turn into his true self away.
I think its good that he was not ling about his true identity but I wish they did a little more on Papas side of the family because it would be interesting to know more about Camilo Dolores and Antonio but it would be to much if Camilo was hiding his true identity and that would take away from the rest of the movie they could of fit in more time for Papas family branch they had 21 minutes of ending credits so they could of done that but the end result of the movie was really good so I am glad they did what they did
low key that would be a good sequel
WAIT.... so what you're saying is, in the alternate Camilo ending... his OWN PARENTS don't even recognize what THEIR OWN SON looked like BEFORE he got his gift?? yooo that's messed up
yeah I was thinking about too
maybe he kept his basic features like hair color and texture and skin color so the family might have thought that camilo had just matured
AWWWW😭😭😭 THAT'S SO SAD.
That makes me think that he is ftm.
AWW THATS SO SAD 😭😭
The thing with Camilo kinda explains to me why his door was the only one with a younger version of himself. Everyone else's doors looked like how they looked at present but if you see Camilo's, it's not the same. Made me wonder if he was gonna change when the magic disappeared but he didn't and it left me really confused.
Maybe because he started transforming to another Person when he was a little kid a never came back to his true self so the door didn't know what he really would look like after all these years

I think the thing with Camilo could be a great reveal/plot point for the character in a later film. The shock that we don't know what his true self looks like would be even more of a shock to the audience if we first (thought we) got to know him better.
I would agree, but we've already seen him with his powers taken away, so it kinda seems like the time has passed unfortunately
And maybe that could help to create Encanto 2 where they could have address this things more.
where did you get the camillo not knowing himself idea from
Yea I agree.
@@bb3e2 Its written in the original book I believe, along with the original character of Camilo, who was Carlos
@@jennylin1586 wait this was based of a book?
@@hi7008 Yeah, I think so. At least the characters and everything was from a storybook.
Agreed, sucks he never got a song, luckily there's a fanmade one of him
I'm pretty sure Dolores doesn't have a solo song either. Only her sisters get those
@@tosinakin2508 She gets larger parts in other songs that describe her struggle with her love life, which isn't the same but it is a momentary spotlight that Camilo does not have. She also deserved one!
@@tosinakin2508 not a solo song, but she does get focus. Every gifted character has a plot point, issue, or emotional baggage we learn about. Except Camillo

Or they show him transforming back.
Eh, I don't think kids are as unobservant as people think. Super young kids sure, like 4 or younger, but they notice a lot more than people think.
If anything, some might of related to the feeling of not knowing who you are yet, especially at a younger age where you are still developing.
It would make the parents look really bad aswell if you don't know what your actual kid looks like lmao
The scene where it talked about abulela having magical river hair reminded me of a story i use to hear as a child about a grandma who had such long hair that every thing would get stuck in it , She was helpful , kind and loved to cook for her grand children

This way Camilo's identity plot would of worked, the mural would of worked and the focus could still mainly be on Mirabelle because Abuela declares her the miracle for helping the family realize that they no longer needed the magic, that they are strong as a family and chooses her to take her place when she's gone as well as it's the gift she should of gotten all along.
this is perfect omg, underrated comment
I’m honestly kinda glad they didn’t go with Camilo’s ending. Don’t get me wrong, it sounds like an amazing plot point, but for a character with such little screen time…idk, it probably wouldn’t have done it justice. If there was a sequel about Pepa’s family, it would be more fitting to have the whole identity crisis story arc.

I think the true self of Camillo would have needed his character rewritten a bit through the whole film. Whenever he shapeshifts, it's clear he treats it like a costume and preserves his personality pretty much throughout his performances.
Fun fact:Camilo used to be called Carlos and was the antagonist of encanto
I love the theory of Camilo ! The way to keep a good looking image, really interesting but if it was true I don't think he would still have his good looking face when the Casita is broken and they don't,t have their power anymore ?!🤨
I think that was supposed to happen when Casita was destroyed but didn't make the cut
@@VIXXlight_VIXXComeBack yeah
As much as I love Camilo (No I am not a simp), I do think that it was better that they discarded the concept of him turning into his 'true form'. I do think it would've been interesting and do like the idea, and while it would've added more depth and relatability to his character, it would've not only taken away from Mirabel's moment but most likely leave plenty of plot holes and many questions which would be a bit too much to squeeze into one conclusion. Also, it could confuse younger children because they would most likely not understand why Camilo did what he did or not recognize him with his 'true form.'
However, I wrote a little I guess, fanfiction if Camilo really DID alter his appearance.
Here's the original comment:

I'm sort of glad they didn't go through with that ending for Camilo. I think it's a great concept, but the movie didn't need to be too crowded, I'm glad the moment was spent on Mirabel. The only alternative would be if it was intentionally meant to be short. Like...
Pepa: - squints to the distance, then runs to an unfamiliar boy crying in the rubble. - Honey, where are your parents, you need help-
Camilo: but you're my- no...
Pepa: - she realizes that that voice is the exact same, a flash of horror passes across her face as she grabs her little boy's hand -
A moment of silence passes, and Camilo realizes his mother is crying.
Pepa: why did you -
Camilo: I didn't mean for it to go this far.
Again, what I wrote is inspired by this comment, so credits to @Sarah's Musical Selections )*
Here's what I wrote now:
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Pepa squinted into the distance, trying to spot her son while the remains of her beloved home rested against her feet.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Pepa recognized that voice, and she would never forget it. That same voice that would soothe her, that same voice that would support her, that same voice that would make up ridiculous jokes just to lighten the mood when things got tense.
That was her little boy's voice, she knew it was.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Camilo soon snapped out of his trance as a familiar pair of pale hands grabbed one of his own, a teardrop landed on his soft skin, but it wasn't his. He looked up to meet his mother's eyes, they were brimmed with tears that shimmered like diamonds and they soon ran down her face like a waterfall. It wasn't easy for him to see his Mami in such a state. He wanted to comfort her and let her know everything would be fine, but he couldn't.
*He couldn't...*
The young lad was... he didn't know.
This was about her little troublemaker, her chameleon, her *son.*
Camilo tried to avoid eye contact, but eventually found himself giving in.
It hurt to know that she didn't even realize he'd changed the way he looked even though she was his own *mama.*
Though she did feel incredibly guilty, Pepa also knew it wasn't entirely her fault.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
And that's a wrap!
Uhm.
This is cool

@@pasteldragon5132 yeah its a sad concept
i love that Camilo concept
i feel like for all movies they should take all of their scraps and put it all into one movie. i just feel like it would be good to see how it would have turned out if they didn't change up things. encanto is a great movie and i could never get tired of it but i just think they should start making just one movie with the scraps.
Well for some movies, you'll get extended or director's cuts, but Disney rarely do that
The Camilo theory would’ve made me so upset considering how adorable he isss
I know right ??
It might make everyone instantly shadier and the movie wouldn't have time to adress it properly.
1 they live in a huge ass house I wouldn't be surprised if for example they just forgot about Antonio for a week because they all got their own shit their rooms can fit entire towns
2 body issues can start as young as three so five or elven isn't to far of a stretch
3 The time-line would have been right when everything hit with bruno from the little we know it seemed to effect pepà highly therfore Felix not noticing is shitty but understandable
4 if he did concisely want to change he could simply do it little things day by day especially when he becomes a middle child if he just changed once a day and had around 680 attempts at the minimum and around 10 years to have them sink in it makes sense
But yeah tons of plotholes n shit
@@rhyfess8429 you have a point. It's true that noticing minor changes without a photo(to compare it to) is very hard
I mean you get gut feeling once in a while. But most people ignore their gut feeling until it become impossible to ignore.
Or they knew all along and just decided to give him some time to find himself. So it’d still be a surprise to us that we never knew his _actual_ appearance and it also would’ve been a surprise to his family that he finally came to terms with himself.
I am glad they scrapped Camilo turning into a completely different true form but I do think it would have been a bit amusing if he had become slightly shorter or something, like just a small difference that he chose to make to look 'better'
that'd have been cute lol
0:25 "I'm not crying, my eyes are sweaty
I’m not sure if anyone else noticed on Pedro’s mural, but the year he was born and the year he passed was on there. The year he passed was 1900, so we can only guess that Abuela was around the same age (25-28 years old) and as she is around 75-years old in the film, it would have taken place in the 1950s, making Julieta, Bruno and Pepa 50-years old.
There's some gems in these ideas. Made me tear up a bit to be honest. I love this movie and all of those involved.
I would love to see that Camilo ending…
It would add more depth to his character how he thinks that his true form is not up to their expectations that his natural form is not good enough so he needs to hide who he is and pretend he’s another person that would’ve had a lot of cool depth to him it would be really fascinating and interesting to see that turn out
Id really like to see a sequel of Mirabel actually getting a gift, or being "crowned" as the next keeper of the candle the way Alma was
I imagined a plot where Camilo met and became friends with a girl who had a leg problem so she had to walk with crutches and in general did limping, by the way she and Camilo development feelings for one another (though both wouldn't admit it at first) but she felt hurt because she felt like he was ashamed of her disability. I don't know, but i thought it could have be cute and interesting see Camilo having a disabled crush/girlfriend knowing about his grandma's obssesion with "perfection"
I need the Camilo one that sounds really interesting
maybe they would've turned him into Carlos. but not emo
@@izumimidoriyaakadeku9190 That's what I was thinking
Makes no sense for Pedro to not have some sort of memorial anywhere in the movie.
I'm glad they dropped so much of abuelas stuff cause there was too much ptsd in this movie already
Generation trauma, Agustin trusted his wife and isn’t much of a fighter in cannon, preferring to stay away from fights, while Julieta grew up with this trauma and issues, so she probably was used and desensitized to it, so she doesn’t react because it’s normal in her mind(and matriarchs and mothers are heavily respected in Latino and other traditional family’s and cultures/ethnicity’s.)
i wish it ended with the mural of pedro - but it would definetly leave me breaking down on the floor, crying a new ocean
However, I think they did a good job at least letting us know how Abuela lost sight of the gift she and her Family was given.
I didn't notice
Well you could always go back to review the movie 🙂
@@reehzy6915 yeah thats really interesting though
If we're going with the concept of them working on the house for months instead of just one song, maybe he had a bit of an identity crisis during that time and the family helped. It would be fun to explore that period of time when the family didn't have powers during a second movie or series to see what it did to the family.
6:04 imo they should’ve added this ending
I kinda wish that the scene where Camilo turns into his true self had been kept in the movie.
Same but I still think the ending we got was pretty good and beautiful ^^
@@MizukiFrills Yeah, me too!
That would have been so interesting, and such a good jumping off point for a sequel. But it would have killed the momentum of the story. At the climax, we stop Mirabel's story to show us something that was never even hinted at about a character who was basically a sight-gag the whole film.
Yeah they kept it but maybe at the end his power at end is bugging?!
@@Chiboulax0 I don't know
I like the mural ending I feel like Abuela should have apologized more in the final
Same
Camilo's one wouldve been hella weird. Idk it sounds like a good concept to use in a completely different movie, but its best if it wasnt used in this
Be a good person instead
While watching the encanto, I had the impression that the house was somehow connected to Mirabel's emotions2:42
Everybody is talking about Camilo’s alternate thing
But nobody’s talking about the house burning down like imagine the house just burns down and all of a sudden u see a black

Like bro that’s terrifying to think about.
The mural ending is so good!
So glad you enjoyed it!
I like Camilo the way he is. It wouldn’t make sense to me. It’s a power. They still have a part of their true selves.
Is abuela's power to turn her hair into river
In that original idea yes, but it wasn't in the final film
I think the movie should have been longer, cause Camilo and other characters never got their own song and i think the movie was a bit rushed.
My mom died on the exact day of my first birthday and she had twins, I have a twin brother, so I can relate
Amazing video 👌
Thanks 😀
6:45 this reminds me from Song of the Sea of a mythological being named Seanchaí from Irish folklore who contains all the memories in his hair.
Omg i love this movie so much it’s so awesome 😂❤
Honestly all these variations of casita and how they would’ve showed the magic fading, truly is awesome, so many great ideas they really should give the Madrigals their own series😭
Oh wow ngl the one early concept scene
of Alma and Pedro
has blew my mind.
if the triplets actually was born by the river just the second after Pedro's death that's would be too much for

a song before, usually
I'll just cried for the first time when i heard
a song but this one just hits different,it makes me cried harder each time, and it's actually pretty sad if that even Pepa and Felix doesn't know how Camilo actually looks like.
Yes, it would have been even more super-heart-breaking. 😭
@@FlicksAndTheCity But if they do, the storyline will be much more creative than the other movies does tho i mean the one we have now it's good too, somehow this story became my mental therapy
Honestly, the idea with Camilo could potentially be built on in a sequel.
Camilo gets stuck in his Pre-Gift form, and he struggles over it- the idea of his birth form being so different from the form he chose; the struggle of everyone coming to terms with the fact that they forgot what he used to look like, with the Gift maybe being responsible for part of it; the fact that his entire power is based on 'being anyone at all, except for himself'; feeling like he's being punished by the Casita and/or Mirabel (because of his power suddenly not working); and the journey (maybe not even a physical one, but one like in the first movie, a journey to come to terms with everything); the mounting pressure that 'maybe [he] should stay this way, since this is who he really is.'
And then deny the idea that he has to return to being that person just because he was born in that body, and him declaring- as he retakes the form we believed to be his normal form for the duration of Encanto- with the support of Mirabel and Casita that, "this *IS* my true self."
There's more than a few things that this could be seen as being relatable to, and they could, of course, lean even harder in the direction of it being a gender thing. Or just leave it as a generic "only you can define who you are" type thing.
I'll never understand why they don't keep these amazing original ideas :( they would've made the movie so much better.
Ok so. We gonna talk about bruno. Thats him
I feel like a more emotional Alma at the end would've made more sense. She just had such an abrupt change in character arc, it's not believable to me.
I think Camilos bit should have still happened! Then Mirabel bit would happen.
I don't
A great video about Encanto!
Many thanks! So happy you enjoyed it! :-)
i think they could've included some of the "darker" scenes, but my generation got movies like brave little toaster, land before time, homeward bound, follow that bird, the fox and the hound, an american tail, secret of nimh, little nemo, and soo many more. you can definitely tell that millennials are gaining influence in children's media
im glad they scrapped the Camilo thing because it would be a huge distraction from mirabel, but I do wish they included him more in the film. maybe if they included that concept in an Encanto 2? that would be cool! like if they focused more on pepa's side of the family in the sequel instead of julieta's
the "Camilo's True Self" was so confusing
If they did Camillo like that it would've been sooooo saaaaad , meaning he can't stand himself
I like the blank pictures and dark butterflies ideas, I think they could've been really cool
As an adult male, encanto is my favorite disney. I needed to get that off my chest
These alternate endings and creepy concepts would make a great creepy pasta fan story
Ye
Yknow, i kinda wish Camillo was *almost* the same, but with one or two differences. Nothing huge, but like, maybe he had a crooked nose or a bad haircut or a mole or something. Just a quick moment where one of his siblings notice and go "...Really?" And then back to the drama. Could gave a moment later after the powers come back where he changes to look 'better' then visibly changes his mind and is his true self in the family picture in the end. It would really round things out and give the last Madrigal grandkid their own character growth without taking away from the plot.
Did you know that in Luisas song when she was Holding her door the doors behinds hers was like the monster ink doors?
OKAY. BUT SECOND MOVIE IDEA!?
- Invaders Attack Again ( Descendants of Them, Seeking Glory For Their Parents )
- Mirabel and Camilo are the first ones to find out, they panic, they're kids they don't know what to do
- Dolores didn't quite catch this, she was conversing with the others ( As seen in the movie, she had to focus on a certain person to hear them instead of a mix of everyone, when Alma asks about Mariano and Isabella's date )
- Camilo Freaks Out on Mirabel, unknowing of what to do in the situation
- Mirabel reassures him and they head back to Casita. Meanwhile, The family was already sitting down for breakfast by the time the two make it back, they question the cousins and they both panic. "Don't worry about it. Just some kids wanting Camilo's attention!" Mirabel lies, laughing it off.
- The two of them have to work together to find out more about these invaders and if they're the real deal before telling their family about it
- They are the real deal and Camilo gets hold of information (when the invaders plan to attack) they retreat to Casita where they spill the beans to the family, causing slight panic amongst everyone in the household, even Casita itself
And that's all I got so far. This was literally a minute thought. So, uh, yeah.
Awesome video!
The Pedro Mural scene would have been helpful, for understanding when the movie takes place, or around when.
My second time watching you anyways girl love your vids
Yes you're right about those two films and it would be a fun theory!
Ugh.

"Omg is Mirabel secretly Camilo?!"
Bro all these concept seems super cool especially the art
Idk with all the deleted scenes, they could definitely use those if they wanna make a second one
that magical river hair was so amazing
Alternate ending that disney is too afraid to produce:
Mirabel finally has enough and is now the villain. She realizes Bruno didn't leave, he was shunned, and now they are doing that to her.
And she burns down the house, with these last words:
"Should've talked about Bruno..."
so many of these are such good ideas! i personally think the movie should have been at LEAST 30 minutes longer
Encanto 2: The Suffering
Dolores: wants everything to Turn down, stop this Curse
Camilo: has a Identity Crisis
Abuela: dies and Mirabell becomes the New Keeper
Pepa is -at the brink of insanity- wait that already happend
Bruno: Bruno Happy
The Village is discovered By mountain climbers seeing a Colorful village
I feel like the Kikibara moment could’ve been a short after credit scene, do you know like what they did in FNAF.
