Thanks Charlie, Im a carpenter using a ds3 1.6hdi .. ive got a £10 code reader and this fault came up ! ive being doing a bit research for last few hours and thankfully stumbled upon your vid. Very good vid m8. I havent got a scan tool .. but ill be trying to sort this tomorrow, Ive managed a fairly comprehensive tool kit over the last 4 decades so it looks doable. Thanks again .. ps my local garage is 3 week waiting but i have a citroen breakers 5 miutes away. I should also add that I have a C2 diesel 1.4hdi, - the mechanic told me i needed a new injector , but i got it home stripped it and cleaned it and reassembled it.. and thought i might as well do the rest . still in there now 2 years later working fine. believe it or not I used a set of plumbers tools to do it.
I'm glad you found the video helpful! It sounds like you're quite experienced with DIY repairs, especially given your success with the C2 injector. Here are some steps you can take to diagnose and possibly fix the issue with your DS3 1.6 HDi: 1. **Identify the Fault Code**: Since you have a £10 code reader, make sure to note down the specific fault code(s) your car is showing. This will help narrow down the problem. 2. **Research the Fault Code**: Look up the specific fault code online to understand what it means and common causes. Forums and technical sites often have discussions and solutions for specific codes. 3. **Inspect the Affected Area**: Based on the fault code, inspect the relevant parts. For example, if it's an injector issue, you might want to start by checking the injectors and related components. 4. **Check Common Issues**: - **Fuel System**: Ensure there's no air in the fuel lines and that the fuel filter is clean. - **Electrical Connections**: Check for any loose or corroded connections, especially around the area indicated by the fault code. - **Vacuum Leaks**: Inspect vacuum hoses for any signs of wear or damage. - **Sensors**: Verify that sensors like the MAF (Mass Air Flow) sensor, MAP (Manifold Absolute Pressure) sensor, and oxygen sensors are clean and functioning. 5. **Use Your Toolkit**: Given your comprehensive toolkit, you should have the necessary tools to perform most repairs. Make sure to have the specific tools required for the job, such as Torx bits for Citroen vehicles. 6. **Visit the Citroen Breakers**: If you need any replacement parts, the breakers yard can be a cost-effective source. Make sure to take the faulty part with you to ensure you get an exact match. 7. **Test the Repair**: After replacing or repairing the suspected faulty component, use your code reader to clear the fault code and see if it reappears. Take the car for a test drive to ensure the issue is resolved. 8. **Consult Online Resources**: If you encounter any difficulties, consider seeking advice on car forums or watching additional video tutorials related to your specific issue. By following these steps, you should be able to diagnose and potentially fix the problem with your DS3 1.6 HDi. Good luck with your repairs! If you need any further assistance or have more specific questions, feel free to ask.
@@SanuMotorswithCharlie Good news .. I got it fixed ! Running like a rocket 🚀 110bhp 1.6hdi . Thanks .. I done most of those recommendations! I had to buy an injector from a breaker £50 .. used the original seal. Awkward to get the faulty one out , had to tap it repeatedly with the end of a long bar . Moved a bit and just kept at it .. until eventually... aah yes , satisfaction...out it came. I carefully guessed the torque nipping it in . Cleared the code with the £10 code reader . Sorted . I had to buy a set out female torxs or inverted I think there called . £15 . But I'm still 😊 😃. I hope to strip this faulty one if the ohms show OK [ 180 to 200k ? ? I think ] I'll check the mechanical side. It will do as a spare to carry . I reckon I could leap out and be under the bonnet if ever again and have it in , in a few hours at most ? I'll carry the tools . Thanks again for the vid
Hi great video I have the same engine in my c3 injector 3 and 4 are leaking so cambelt side, 1 and 2 fine no carbon build up etc. Can I just replace 3 & 4 injector seals and not take out 1 & 2 injectors? Would it bring up a engine light? Thanks
@@SanuMotorswithCharlie thanks bud engine all fine but a lot of carbon build up around them two injectors, plus inside of car smells of fumes. So need doing asap, just ordered seal kit.
Hi. at what torque is the injector screw tightened? I have the same type of injector, the same screw, and I don't know what tightening value to adjust the torque wrench. Thank you
