I’m really sorry it was such a mopey vlog, on reflection I really didn’t want it to sound that monotone 👇 Thanks for watching anyhow, I appreciate it 💙
Glad to see you back. You live in a beautiful place, and the poppy field is spectacular. I have never seen that sign in America and would not know what it means. Safe travels!
Lol for info the sign is telling you that you can now follow the national speed limit for that road. Single carriageway unlit is 60 mph, dual carriageway lit and motorway 70 mph which is max speed allowed on public roads in the uk ❤
Dear Lucy - this isn’t like you - you have such a busy life - nave you’re probably burnt out ? You’re such a vibrant lady and. then when life kicks in and especially when your loved ones (ponies) aren’t well. It’s awful when our animals are ill - it’s a. Lot of years since I had my very naughty pony but ever battle scar was a huge worry - now I’ve two Springers - they’re a joy but my old boy is suffering a broken jaw I couldn’t be more upset as a result of a dental - also a young springer whose 2+ but young for her years so energy sapping. Wouldn’t swap my boys for the world. Take great care of yourself Lucy - remember I’m here anytime for you girlies. Ive the advantage of age and life experience if that helps ? Thinking of you and your gorgeous Beasties. Things will improve xxx
If I had to guess, it could be the meds you took for your pinched nerve. Sometimes they can make you feel down in the dumps. I know if I take too much Ibeuprofan I will feel that way. Getting back out on your horse will make you feel so much better, good old Vitamin D. As far as the signs you pointed out, I live in the US and have never seen a sign like that. Also, the poppy fields are beautiful. Thanks for sharing that. I have never seen anything like that before (well except in the Wizzard of OZ) We do have some sunflower fields here. ( live in the Midwest US).
Hi Lucy, I totally get what your going through, we all have times when we feel low and just not feeling very motivated to do anything. I’m definitely going through a tough time with my horse, she’s amazing in every way, but I just can’t seem to progress with her no matter what I do. It’s really effecting my confidence and sometimes I think what’s the point of riding her when she just stands there and doesn’t listen to me at all. I dream of going to events and doing some jumping and feeling like it’s all worth the money time and effort but at the moment I’m lost , I just don’t know how to get out of this rut I’m in. Plus I have a lot going on at home so having to juggle things is getting stressful and I literally running around on no batteries. So I completely understand what your going through. Fingers crossed we both will hopefully find our way back soon to what we love. Sending you lots of hugs and support.xx
Don’t stress too much. Life gets in the way. Enjoy the time with your friends. Love Ember even if it’s cuddling and hacking. Enjoy him! You don’t have to event to be successful. It’s actually refreshing because I think even the horsiest of girls need a break once in a while. You aren’t boring you’re normal! Take it easy and do you!
No need to apologize for being in a slump. Everyone goes through that. On the other hand - glad you figured out that Ember was reacting to that new girth! And that poppy field was gorgeous!
I felt this, especially when you spoke about how it’s hard to get back on your horse after a break. It’s a relief to know it’s just not me and other people experience this too.
The thing iis horses are generally 24/7 and no matter how much you love that life, it's good to have a break, also lets not discount how goddamn wretched the weather has been this year, never underestimate how the lack of sun affects everyone, never apologise for being human 🥰
I saw pics of that poppy field on Facebook, the arguments in the comments about how and why it happens were...interesting! Glad you figured out what was bothering Ember. Bonnie is adorable!! xx
Have no idea about the weird sign. If it was temporary, I would guess it was for a funeral. If it was red, maybe don't go this way? A slump mid way through a season of anything is normal. You start to wonder if the time and money are paying off in whatever way you imagined it would at the start. I think a lovely massage for you would be beneficial. Maybe someone to ride with to make it more social. Bonnie isn't in the mood to be a model today is she? The poppies are such a visual treat, thanks for sharing. Have a lovely vacay, i hope it chases the blues away.
Unfortunately life can be crap and testing its a horrible feeling especially when you just dont know what to do and you try and function doing everyday things when you have other stuff on your mind. One thing for sure though is that you never ever have to apologise for being down or not yourself. Just think about yourself and be well.x
Great to see you again my goodness if anyone deserves a break its you Lucy, you have worked tirelessly to get Ember to this stage ,it’s been such intense work with him ,his probably needed a break too, stunning horse whatever you do,pick the competition back up when you’re both ready.❤❤❤
I am from the States and we do not have those signs you pointed out. I was just in England a few days ago as my daughter got married, so I saw those signs as we traveled from Thornbury to Dinton (The Woods at Oakley). Hope all lines up as you need it to and your mind will be clear!
The white with black diagonal stripe indicates you can go the national speed limit for that road. The other sign indicates there is a sharp bend coming up 😊
You will get your mojo back for sure. Take a moment to rest, reset and when you’re in a better headspace you will pick back up and continue. Sometimes life goes that way, for no particular reason. Be kind to yourself. This too shall pass ❤
Oh Lucy! I get those days too! I've had 4 months not being able to walk my 4 Border Collies because of lung infections and I get really down at times! Ember looking good! 😊
Ouch, really feel for you where the trapped nerve is concerned they're agony! Everyone has a slump from time to time, I usually watch a load of YT videos of eventing and I'm itching to crack on....sometimes you do just need to take a step back and chill with no pressure and suddenly it just appears again. Hopefully you're back flying again soon. xx
Dear Lucy I think you’re just suffering from the after effects of all the weddings ! When you get back in the swing of eventing it will make all the difference sending you best wishes love watching you xx
I am in the exact same boat Lucy... The motivation just isnt there anymore. My horse and I just seem to have gone completely backwards (shes also an thoroughbred!), and that just adds to the negative mojo!!🥲I also think this shit excuse for summer doesn't help!😅🤣 Lots of love to you and the ponies, hopefully we get our swing back soon!!💗
I’m so getting this loss of mojo feel. My horse turned out lame in the start of March, not swollen or hot. So we figured out it was probably a sole bruise as he has sensitive hooves (warmblood x tb). Thought he was getting better, but turned out lame again. Got the vet and got his hooves x-rayed. Couldn’t find anything, but the vet was certain it was in the hoof and said we had to wait. Just got shoes on him about 2 weeks ago and started walking and getting him back to work. Then he pulled a shoe and we’re waiting for the farrier. I have thought more than once this year: Why do I bother 😅 Also the Eric Le Tixerant girth is amazing for girth sensitive horses. My horse is more comfortable in that than the Stubben one. If you’re looking for options 😊
Second that girth it’s fantastic. For my TB the professionals choice VenTech girth was the ticket. Never had any rubs and it’s nice and wide so no pressure points. We use them on all the baby horses now also and we’ve never had one with girth galls since!
Sorry you’re having a tough time with the ponies Lucy! I have done nothing for 3 years essentially with mine due to various issues 😅 but you gotta do ur bit for the environment girlie and get the CDM refill bottles! ✨
Sometimes life is a it Meh! Hopefully life will be a bit kinder to you in the next few weeks and you get your mojo back ❤ For the Americans and anyone else the round white trafic sign with the black diagnal stripe indicates you can now travel at the national speed limit for that particular road.....usually 60 or 70 miles per hour 😊
So sorry to hear you're in the doldrums Lucy. Having pain from the trapped nerve doesn't help - I've been there done that with the nerve in the back of my neck/shoulder and nerve pain really is one of the worst. Can't sleep, can't get comfortable etc. My recommendation if it happens again, is to find a good chiropractor. It happens to me periodically and I go to my chiro who seems to be the only person who can put it right. Takes him a couple of sessions and I feel better. It might be that to get your mojo back you might need to make a supreme effort and enter an event. Perhaps once you are there, with the atmosphere and everything, it might do the trick. Or even simply go along with Justine for the ride and being a groom. I can understand that if you have other things weighing heavily on you, then maybe you've got no energy left for that. If you're worried about your health, I hope that you get some answers soon, and plenty of support at the moment from Rob, who seems like a real keeper!!! Ember looks fine, and you've worked very hard with him. He's not the easiest horse, is he? Take care of yourself, have a lovely break in Italy and I hope that when we hear from you again you are feeling better. Sending love and light to you ❤❤❤

He seemed to do well. I love his color. The reddish colored wild flowers are beautiful . I figured that was a yield sign😅❤.🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸 Alabama. ❤😂 . I lost two daughters since 2020 . Your shows help my slump go easier .
We don't have that sign in the United States that I know of. Burnout is real. It's okay to take time off. You don't HAVE to compete. It's okay to just hack around and enjoy your horses! When you find yourself feeling that spark again, that's time enough to get back into it. And if that never happens, that's okay too.
Thank you, I’ve enjoyed my pootley hacks over the last few days, so when the ground softens up and I get cantering again I’m sure the fire will come back 🧡
@@footluceeventing Also from the states…. Also didn’t know what the sign meant and kept scrolling to find out! But now I’m faced with another question; what’s a national speed limit?! Loved the vlog, so chill and the poppies were beautiful. You guys are so lucky to have so many miles (km lol!) of trails! And trail riding (hacking lol) is amazing for the soul.
Yep I totally get the slump thing. I usually get it in July when the heat really kicks in. 😅 I just adore Ember, he is such a sweetheart ❤❤❤❤❤ TB's are so funny, my boy is really sensitive about all of his tack, especially in the summer. I have to use a fleece girth and boots, if i don't he gets rubbed raw. 😢

Did Ember just steal hay out of Bonnie's net? How rude! Lol Also, we don't have that sign in the US. From context, I'm guessing it's the end of some restriction like No Trucks. If it were a restriction, I'd hope it would be in red. Many years ago, while visiting some UK cousins, they actually asked why I didn't rent a car. I actually looked into it, but the only cars in my price range were standards. Like I told them... If I had to drive on the wrong side of the road _and_ shift with the wrong hand, I'd probably just put myself in a ditch.
Slumps are the worst! So glad you're going to carry on, I love watching you ride. 😊 The stuebben (sp?) girth doesn't appear to have as much elbow room, guess that was the problem. But phew, thankfully it wasn't a bigger deal. Did you make a video about how you found Ember and why you chose him? I would love to hear the story.
I’m going through lack of motivation atm, think it’s due to stress in my life but it’s frustrating as I know it will help, to go out riding. but it’s a vicious cycle.
Youll gwt there lucy i have recently went though a faze of i cant be bothered/no motivation only recently coming out of it but im still finding it very difficulty to want to get on i think eith ex racers they really take alot of energy to make a riden horse mine really drains my energy i just want things done then and there but i know it takes time and effort especialy with exracers just take time to enjoy dont push your self to compete or vlog if you dont want to or have the energy we will always be here if you want to resume

We don't have that sign in America! What does it mean? 😂 Aw, sounds like a rough time - we ALL go through this though! That was me with my green broke mare after a caesarean
Lucy the round bit in the middle of the Lemieux girth is supposed to be towards the front not the back xx that’s what gives the elbows freedom to move xx
Maybe would be best to sell Ember and get a nice calm type like the older gray horse you sometimes ride that you can have fun on. Some ex-racehorses are difficult to retrain and not for everyone. Move on and enjoy riding again! ❤
Thoroughbreds are not like other horses, they are highly sensitive especially the skin, they feel everything so much more, because they are so thin skinned,, I only had thoroughbreds and they will over react, to the slightest change in feelings.. that girth must have felt weird to him, i can imagine.. You had a break all good you will build up again slowly, dont push yourself, just go with the flow its always UP and DOWN we are always striving for that MID/L Ground the Mid L Ton/E is important , not too big not too small nor too hot nor too cold, nor too high nor low, Temperance makes good Temperament keeps the four humours balanced.. Wow that Poppy field so beautiful, LOve
Oh Lucy, come on girl you need to get with people who make you laugh out loud. Your far too young to be so down too. I think you and Rob should go for a weekend of spa treatments that get rid of the doom n gloom. Ember is fine maybe he just prefers a normal girth who knows. He’s a beautiful horse I know he gives you hard times but he’ll calm down he’s very happy with you you can tell. Feel happy again soon let’s have an update on Laragh although seeing her she seems happy enough. Enjoy Italy 🇮🇹 most of all laugh out loud. Positive thoughts you’ve got this. Tfs🤗🏇🤗x
If it’s any consolation I spent 14k on vet investigations on my mare…. Just to find out she hates prolite/fairfax girths 🙃😅 now have her in a wow free space and she’s like a different horse!
I remember YEARS ago I got a new horse after not having one for about 20yrs, and I was all ..I must get a lovely thick fluffy shepskin numnah...cos I was earning good money and wanted the best for my boy...well holy bucking bronko's batman did he HATE that thing...sideways, almost sitting down, pawing at the ground ..really freaked me out..turns out with his thoroughbred thin skin and fine hair he was allergic to wool 😬
We don't have that sign in any of the states I've lived in. We don't even have a sign with a similar meaning. Sorry you've got a case of the blahs. I've been feeling the same way recently. I've got a sensitive, difficult horse right now and have been feeling a bit down about the lack of fun.
Hope your OK. It's funny how other things on our minds affects everything else..I'd like to be sponsored by them lol spend a fortune on mane and tail stuff with a hairy cob lol.

Loved the poppy field! It is nice to just enjoy the horses without a plan, even if it may feel aimless, sometimes it is even more genuine 💕
14:41 US follower.. nope don’t have that road sign but I’m guessing it means caution ⛔️ ghost 👻 since Ember spooked next 🤣 🧡 16:46 ground cover crop to rotate growth of field.. give crop year off for soil to recover possibly or crop not needed that year 🤔
So sorry you’re going through a low mood moment. Try not to let negative stress pull you down and try to focus on doing what ever it takes, whatever you feel like doing until your life rebalances. We will all still be here for you when you are ready ❤
Thank you, the more I’m riding again the happier I am, apologies for the mopey video 🥲
@@footluceeventing
There is never a need to apologise for being honest. Just do whatever you need to do to support your own wellbeing. Everything else can just wait ❤️
I think you’re very brave talking about this to us. Just do what is right for you. Don’t over think it. Have some time off competing and riding if you need to. Enjoy your relationship with Rob, things will slip into place. Sending hugs ❤
I’m really sorry it was such a mopey vlog, on reflection I really didn’t want it to sound that monotone 👇 Thanks for watching anyhow, I appreciate it 💙
@@footluceeventing don’t be silly! It’s life and it wasn’t mopey! Just honest! ☺️ x
The poppies are beautiful, what a fabulous way to lift your mood.
Hi Lucy,
I totally get what your going through, we all have times when we feel low and just not feeling very motivated to do anything.
We all go through these times in our life, and its definitely going to be brought on by other life stresses. Stay safe and hope all is OK xx
Lol it's a national speed limit sign. They are permanent signs.
I hear this, and understand fully. You will get it back but sometimes it takes a while! Miss your vlogs but don’t get down on yourself! !!!
💙
Hopefully you're back flying again soon. xx
The trapped nerve was not the dream 😟 And thank you for the suggestion, I’ll definitely be binging a few different eventing vlogs 💙
Dear Lucy I think you’re just suffering from the after effects of all the weddings ! When you get back in the swing of eventing it will make all the difference sending you best wishes love watching you xx
Weddings in a row are a sign of things changing. I find them wearing.
Big hugs Lucy. Be gentle w yourself and take time to get that headspace right. You'll get there.
I have thought more than once this year: Why do I bother 😅
Also the Eric Le Tixerant girth is amazing for girth sensitive horses.
Lucy just take your time ,IT will all come right .Amber is looking so well ,take care and all the best. 😊😊😊👍👍👍👍🐶
Hang in there girl you are pretty special . Hugs
Sometimes life is a it Meh!
Hopefully life will be a bit kinder to you in the next few weeks and you get your mojo back ❤
For the Americans and anyone else the round white trafic sign with the black diagnal stripe indicates you can now travel at the national speed limit for that particular road.....usually 60 or 70 miles per hour 😊
Aww Lucy sending love and hugs to you and Ember. Hope you both feel better and just enjoy some hacking and chilling out together time ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I hope your ok Lucy love ya and all your beautiful horses 🐎 ❤️
Love your short video; with Ember in poppy field..
Sending love and light to you ❤❤❤
Cheer up Luce!! Still was a great vlog. Thanks for sharing we’ve all been there ☺️
Wow what a lovely vlog to watch and thank u for making x its so easy to pretend we all live this perfect life and obviously we don't....how lovely to hear someone saying " yeah I feel a bit naff atm" it's very brave ❤️ you are a beautiful lady who always seems so cheery ( BTW yr eyebrows are amazing 😂) but never apologise for feeling a bit off ....its normal and ok xx keep enjoying the small stuff, be kind to yr self u lovely human and just give yourself time xxx take care lovely lady ❤❤
Thank you for the lovely comment 💙 And the eyebrow compliment 🥲
@@footluceeventing it was very easy for such a lovely person ....take care and big hugs xxx❤️
Love the poppy field , don't ever think I've seen so many poppies in one place .
It’s beautiful, the field was actually in the newspapers!
Love your honesty!!! ❤❤ You'll sort it all out!!!
i think a new swipe up kick on is in order!
Poppies 😊
Sorry you are feeling a bit poo. Sending hugs from Yorkshire ❤❤ xx
Thank you, I’ve enjoyed my pootley hacks over the last few days, so when the ground softens up and I get cantering again I’m sure the fire will come back 🧡
Ps it’s a very boring sign… it just means national speed limit 😅
I've never seen this sign on the east coast in the states either!
I love tbs so much, but they are funny things 🥲 Thanks for watching 🙏
Feel your pain. I too have pinched nerves in my neck & left shoulder. Miserable.
I am so sorry about ur neck was hurting that is horrible sending positive vibes and prayers for you and Ember 🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺🌞🌞🌞🌞🌞🌞🌞🌞🌞🌞🌞🌞🌞🌞🌞🌞🌞🌞🌞🌞🌞🌞🌞🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🐴🐴🐴🐴🐴🐴🐴🐴🐴🐴🐴🐴🐴🐴🐴🐴🐴🐴🐴🐴🐴🐴🐴🐴🐴
It's not easy being human. Best wishes.
THankyou ,mazing to see you do miss you , just lifr stuff happens ,
Did Ember just steal hay out of Bonnie's net? How rude! Lol
Also, we don't have that sign in the US.
Those poppies were beautiful!!
Hilarious 😂❤ horses omg!!! Bless y'all and thanks for sharing. I have totally been there 😂
Hope you're OK. Things will work out as fate dictates. Thank you for the lovely hack, proves Norfolk isn't flat 😂
Yes we have a hill! 🙏
I’m going through lack of motivation atm, think it’s due to stress in my life but it’s frustrating as I know it will help, to go out riding. but it’s a vicious cycle.
Fine Sir.. 😘

Aw, sounds like a rough time - we ALL go through this though! That was me with my green broke mare after a caesarean
Your body is saying NO quite strongly - you are tired - you will be fine again girlie.
He is a sweetheart even if he hates long grass!!!🤓🌻🐶🫶🏻🥕
Tigers live in the grass 🐯 (in his mind anyway 😅)
Lucy the round bit in the middle of the Lemieux girth is supposed to be towards the front not the back xx that’s what gives the elbows freedom to move xx
Maybe would be best to sell Ember and get a nice calm type like the older gray horse you sometimes ride that you can have fun on. Some ex-racehorses are difficult to retrain and not for everyone. Move on and enjoy riding again! ❤

He must have been such a cute baby; Lucy do you have any of his baby pics; if so can you post them.. 😮
Oh feel better Lucy.. 😘
Beautiful poppy field to hack around.
Wow beautiful poppies
What meds did you have? May of put you in different gear. Just ride the wave xxxxx
Tfs🤗🏇🤗x
Any update on Laragh?
Are you going to get a small person to ride Bonnie?
What a prima donna he is lol Glad you discovered his problem 😀 🎉
If it’s any consolation I spent 14k on vet investigations on my mare…. Just to find out she hates prolite/fairfax girths 🙃😅 now have her in a wow free space and she’s like a different horse!
Stop putting your self down for what you have not done. Too late to the party take the break reset enjoy some space cheers from Australia
Ember will neither know nor care if he has the rest of the season off. Just enjoy your horse a bit without pressure
It’s summer it’s always a shit time with no hunting and hard rotten ground.
