I’m a 79-year old lady & this song is still my all-time favorite rock ‘n roll song. I saw Bob in concert back in the late ‘70s, in Charleston, WVA, one of the best concerts ever!!

I’m 23 years old. But people say I’ve got an old soul because I absolutely LOVE this music. This is the very definition of rock and roll! You’re so right. My generation doesn’t know what they’re missing. Seriously, you guys had Bob Seger, AC/DC, Van Halen, Bee Gees, the freakin Beatles, the Rolling Stones, Def Leppard and QUEEN! And what do we get? Beyoncé and Taylor Swift 🤮
Being in my late 20s, this was before my time, but my Dad listens to the good stuff, and raised me right. He told me Bob Segar was my favorite when I was around 5. He said that I used to tell him to play some "Bob Cigar". Lol
Lonnie Sands , My granddaughter is 3 years old and loves Old Time Rock and Roll. She listens to it over and over. The first evening she heard it, I figured she would forget about it, but the first thing in the morning she jumped in bed and said, "Can we listen to Bob Seger?" I couldn't believe she remembered his name! That was before she turned three. Keep on loving that old rock and roll! I'm 67 and have always loved it.
My sister and I entertained the family dancing to this. I still have a tape of us dancing to it. Wish she was back here for me to dance with her again. Cancer robbed us of her.

We played weekly card games and Monopoly. Instant gratification was not a thing then, we waited for calls and were excited to answer the phone.
In my earliest days in the Navy in San Diego, a couple shipmates and I would take the trolley down to Chula Vista every wednesday. There was a small roller rink a few blocks up from the station. We always requested this song when we were there. EVERYONE would hit the floor when it came on. It got so, as soon as we walked in, the DJ would spot us, wait until we had our skates on, stand on the edge of the rink, look at him, boom, down went the needle. Didn't even have to ask. LOL. Everyone knew us. It was awesome.

I hope you were there and had a great time!
This is the first song I remember listening to and dancing to with my dad. It will always be my favorite. Definitely the best memory in my 19yrs of life.

From michigan here...bob being from michigan as well, my mom told me stories of watching Bob play at her college. He was awesome then and still as good today.
I'm Canadian and I've seen Bob in concerts frequently over the last 20 years , sometimes in Vancouver, sometimes Toronto, Love him. I think I'll always be up dancing to Old Time Rock and Roll 'til I draw my last breath!!!!!!!!
I may be only 17, but I wish so much that I'd grown up in America during the 50's and 60's , the music, the cars, the freedom as a whole. I'd give anything to go back there.
“Freedom” in the 50s and 60s was only for the white men! Persons of color didn’t receive freedom in the era of Jim Crow.......... your privilege may have let you experience freedom but that freedom was conditional.
@@dilldozar296 Freedom is always conditional, only now more than ever, more rights removed every day. The old times weren't perfect, I'm not arguing that, there's been some real f*cked up things that happened. But then again just look at the news nowadays. To me they got a lot more right back then vs nowadays. You don't have to agree with me but it's my opinion and nobody is going to change it.
@@josephg41 the Jim Crow laws of the 60s most certainly say that there was less freedom then. The “colored only” and “white only” signs above every store and restaurant also say there was less freedom then. Read a history book
@@dilldozar296 Once again, look at where the world is heading now, we're going straight back to that which you are speaking about, only a matter of time at this point, only reversed in who it's aimed at. The segregation was never right, and it never will be, against anyone at all, but you can already see history repeating itself if you look at today's headlines. Talk about a reading a history book. The whole reason for learning history is to learn the mistakes of the last so you don't repeat them. History is already repeating itself and each year its getting worse
I love this video and seeing the guys play their instruments! What talent that is! I love it and wished we could have seen you all as we grew up in the 70s! Love you guys!

My love of music ranges from opera, to rhythm and blues. Love country but as a child of the 70's old time Rock and Roll is my favourite, I love Bruce, Mick, southern Lynrd Skynrd, Australian AC/DC, Van Halen and many others. I've seen a lot of them in concert. But Bob is my first and last love. Keep on rockin!!!

No offense, but it really doesn't matter when you were born. It isn't necessary, in my opinion, to let people know how revolutionary you are for liking older music.
My sister and I used to go to the bar before work, we worked at Dulles Airport at night and the night didn't even get started til they played this song!!!! Then we danced all nite n was at work by 4 a.m. WOW what good times!!!!!
Simple music can make you sing, a simple hug can make you feel, better, simple things can make you happy, I hope my simple hello will put a smile on your face.. Hello!!! How are you doing today, I just wanted to know if you're a fan too? Have a great day..
I was born in 2003 and I hear people say that they feel sorry for people who weren't born in the generations were music was actually good. Just because we weren't born in your generation doesn't we hate the music from then. I personally love this song and I'm a giant Journey and Bon Jovi fan. I love a lot of music from the 80s. So just because we weren't born in your generation doesn't mean we hate this music. A lot of us actually like this music. Not just music from Today
You are one of the reasons why OTR&R will never die! keep listening as it really is the Sacred Music of my Generation, and was meant to be enjoyed by everyone. It is the ONE thing that America has gotten right without any exceptions, so ENJOY !!
I grew up listening to Bob Seger. I'm 63 and still love his music. He's great
Likewise, I’M 70 and will never grow up….feel sorry for younger generations ….they re so uptight as a result of all that’s fucked up in the world……

From michigan here...bob being from michigan as well, my mom told me stories of watching Bob play at her college. He was awesome then and still as good today.
I graduated in 62 so I love that old time Rock and Roll
I'm Canadian and I've seen Bob in concerts frequently over the last 20 years , sometimes in Vancouver, sometimes Toronto, Love him. I think I'll always be up dancing to Old Time Rock and Roll 'til I draw my last breath!!!!!!!!
this and Katmandu are my faves of his
Rock and roll will never die. Shine on my brothers.
At least we hope not!
This song tells the truth how much great music that came out of my generation that will be around forever. I’m 71 and this is what I call music.
Thank goodness my grandpa played this so I’d have it in my playlist
First song played at my daughters engagement 2012 blew the night away brilliant
Now he's become the good ol' time rock n roll. They sure don't make them like that anymore.
YE, you are right! Greetings for you!
Sadly true
I agree withyou! The greatest time! Greatest music! I'm glad you like this music❤
I love this video and seeing the guys play their instruments! What talent that is! I love it and wished we could have seen you all as we grew up in the 70s! Love you guys!

Everybody
Old time rock and roll
That kinda music just soothes the soul
I reminisce about the days of old
With that old time rock and roll, Drew Abbott!
Won't go to hear 'em play a tango
I'd rather hear some blues or funky old soul
There's only one sure way to get me to go
Start playin' old time rock and roll
Call me a relic, call me what you will
Say I'm old fashioned, say I'm over the hill
Today's music ain't got the same soul
I like that old time rock and roll

Love country but as a child of the 70's old time Rock and Roll is my favourite, I love Bruce, Mick, southern Lynrd Skynrd, Australian AC/DC, Van Halen and many others. I've seen a lot of them in concert. But Bob is my first and last love. Keep on rockin!!!

I was born 2002 but this is music I can listen too
good for you. my brother is born in 2005 and he much likes old classic country songs just like me
No offense, but it really doesn't matter when you were born. It isn't necessary, in my opinion, to let people know how revolutionary you are for liking older music.
yeah, music has no expiration date
M and M sameeeee

No techno or synthesisers.
Just good old Rock and Roll and Genius.

This should be the legal definition of the term "raw talent".
I agree

Another Michigan Rocker you may like is Mitch Ryder & The Detroit Wheels doing Devil With A Blue Dress On>

What can you say? Outstanding song. What a beat! Thanks
Wish I was born at this period, when Rock and roll was something
Grande bob seger....sin duda uno de los mejores cultores del rock country de todos los tiempos y mejor todavía en sus conciertos en vivo....una verdadera leyenda

I love that song! :) Three chords, simple as hell, but man the soul, power and feelgood energy coming off this tune is just amazing! \m/
Just like Status Quo, an English Rock Band who is just as good!!
most 70's classic rock songs had 3 main chords. that whay it was called " 3 chord rock and roll" it was easy to play, fun and sounded awesome
Born july 4th 1980 and this was the first song i know every word to and i still love it as much now as i did at 3
Simple music can make you sing, a simple hug can make you feel, better, simple things can make you happy, I hope my simple hello will put a smile on your face..
Hello!!! How are you doing today,
I just wanted to know if you're a fan too? Have a
great day..
classic song!! our kids have no idea what they missed!!
my 3 year old son heard this in my moms car today for the first time and started singing along and smiling from ear to ear... #proudmommamoment
