Love this song, I feel like sometimes I’m running against the wind, but slowing down now, I’m 84 years old, it’s about time i guess. Just so depressed. Loved this movie, it really about life & how hard it is sometime. Today is May 9. 2024. Love you all and Pray GOD can forgive me of all of my sins. I was a late in life learning about our LORD JESUS & learning how wonderful he is, giving his life , shedding his blood for all our sins, I was a horrible person and just pray I can help someone come to CHRIST before it’s too late. If anyone is reading this GOD BLESS YOU & hope you have a great relationship with our HEAVENLY FATHER, LORD JESUS & have the HOLY SPIRIT. The HOLY SPIRIT helps with all my bipolar depression. God BLESS.❤️
I live in a border city in Ontario across the river from Detroit, Michigan and I saw Bob Seger 3 times when he played at local high schools in the 1970’s. Unforgettable moment was when he came off the stage and walked down the stairs right passed me.
I grew up in Detroit. Saw Bob Seger at a teen club called "The Hideout." Visited Windsor often and listened to CKLW. I live in Illinois now and people give me a weird look when I tell them the quickest way to get to Canada from Detroit is to drive South and take the tunnel or the bridge.
Also 70, and I say this with not a few tears. I agree with you wholeheartedly. Bob Seeger wrote so many chapters of my life. All but word for word. Mainstreet....Night Moves..all but word for word...and now, decades later, Im still Running Against the Wind.
chet, im not to far behind you in age. music was what music should be back then. i was fortunate to play in some bands and loved evey second of it. classic rock is king. everyday i listen and always will. floyd, seger, steely dan, supertramp, triumph,so many. rock on brother.
Bob Seger...... an American troubadour, telling the stories of our times for the Baby Boomer generation. What a poetic songwriter and singer! Long live Seger and his music.
Too bad the baby generation is retired or gone. Now you have to rely on this self entitled selfish weak gender bender fruit generation who is so sensitive and mental that our enemies within and abroad smell blood and will take advantage of our weakness and Godless ways. Never mind most your whores in DC are bought and paid for and could care less about the low class peasants they rule over and have no desire to really care about.
Such a special time in our lives. Hearing Bob Seger & the Silver Bullitt Band just takes me back to a time that was much better & happier & free. So happy I grew up in the 70s.
Billie , Amen my friend...Amen . People today will never know or get it . Better times ,better people, and a Damn better America...but the best music Rock and Roll ,Motown, country music too . All the talented singers and song writers .. They could sing ,play ,and alot of them write their songs .. Sure wish we could turn back time . Take care and God Bless .
I grew up in the 70’s too, it was not happier and freer then. We had to protest the phony war against Vietnam, as a 17 yr old I was worried about being conscripted to fight against an unknown “enemy” that is now a popular tourist attraction. All because of the conservatives in govt in Australia. We voted against the conservatives after decades of rule and the new party brought our troops home and saved my arse. Conservatives are against freedom.
And to think that he was unsure about that line thinking it didn't sound grammatically correct! Grammatically correct? Damn Bob, that line is magic. Truth and pain and sadness and wisdom all in one
This to me is one of the greatest songs I’ve ever heard, I turned 60 a couple weeks ago, I’m coming to grips that there are only so much sand left in my hour glass. I talking slower, smiling more trying to enjoy the sand on my beach.

I can truly say I’ve lived through the greatest era of rock and roll music. I turn 78 soon so I’ve enjoyed great music from the late 50’s through the late eighties. This song is a real favorite.
This line is applicable in many areas of my life and so very appropriate for the time frame you've given. It is not hard for us to know where you were then. Thanks.

As I listen to this song I think back ti 1980 and my first baby. He was stillborn. The father was my first love, I found out He passed away from cancer, I am 64 now, We are still running against the wind,
I’m 57 now. I’ve covered the late 70’s, the 80’s, and the 90’s. Yep, great music. Many pieces has put a stamp in my life. I am forever grateful. This song, however, seems to be art imitating life. My life.

This song is a Masterpiece. This song takes you to that emotional place that very few songs can do. The feeling you get while listening is pure joy along with pure nostalgia. Bob Seger is one of the greats of all time in Classic Rock. Nobody can reproduce the songs of Bob Seger.
I’m 86 yrs old and this song brings back more memories than I can count. Bob helped to get me through the 12 years I spent working on the Alaska Pipeline.
I'm still running against the wind ,and loving every moment of it ,Bob Seger is right there beside me ,Love you Bob and thanks for the time of my life ❤💙💕 .
Been some time since I heard this truly fine song by Bob Seger. I was just 28 years old when I first heard it. I'm 68 now and it sounds as good as it did 40 years ago.
I can relate to this and I'm 47, just remember in 81 listening to this classic on my older brother's Sammy record player as it was yesterday. Seger to me along with Billy Joel, The Eagles & Jackson Browne wrote probably some of the best American rock music in the 70/80's.
I’m a millennial and I hate 99% of the music that came out in my teenage years and 20’s. I find myself listening to the music my Mother (who is a boomer) played when I was a child more than anything else.
Oh, who put these together to make me cry so hard!? Beautiful. I loved this song and Bob Seger so much. My life was this music and now I have grandchildren and where did it go? I can't stop crying over this beautiful music that I grew up with. Xx
Don't cry,, Get up and Dance to his music and all of the other great singers in this time. The best of the best singers and song Writers, Will live on forever. My children love it also , because they grew up listening to it..... over and over.
I'm someone else who is 71 and I will never stop listening to the songs who became more than a song I liked. They became friends that took me to a better/stronger place where I NEVER, EVER felt left out!!! Made many new friends from songs....now I have a lot of friends! 🌺🌺
I'm from Africa and I've been walking against the wind since 2022 since I lost the love of my life, my wife and my baby who would have been born, today I'm a nomad, continuing to run trying to see her in another way of life.
My brother was a student at East Detroit High School and a part of the school's audio and visual department. In order to raise money for newer equipment, they decided to have a concert at the school with a local performer, Bob Seger. The concert didn't go as planned as only a few hundred tickets were sold for what they had hoped to be a two-thousand-seat packed house. Two weeks later, Against the Wind was released and being played on-air around the country. The ten dollars tickets at the High School would be fifty-dollar tickets at future Bob Seger concerts!
I add my condolences. It’s my late wife’s birthday and i have again recalled those immortal words “ I wish I didn’t know now what I didn’t know then”. She died ten months ago and her favourite film was Forrest Gump.
I was 20 years old when this album came out. I quickly learned this song on guitar and was requested to play it at every party I was at. Such good times. 42 years later I’m still playing and singing it on guitar. Thank you for the music Bob Seger. Let the cowboys ride!
I'm guessing you were born in 1958 according to the numbers in your comment. Me too. This song is pretty much my biography. Great tune, great lyrics. "Wish I didn't know now, what I didn't know then". Live long 🖖 and prosper! (Spock)🖖✌️
During my mom and d!ds divorce I remember sitting alone no furniture, just a turntable and listening to this album , I swear my dad's pain was transferring to me ,he didn't know it
Than you in a way it gave me the appropriate way to look at the music a sad good think and a good sad thing, to appreciate the emotions songs make you have and relive, good or bad
I joined a carnival at 16 years old from Indiana, played this song and many of his hits while running the rides on the midway. Finally found myself, retired from the Army with 22 years, then just retired again TODAY from the Federal Government as a Federal Law Enforcement officer with an additional 18 years. Now I'll just jump on my Harley and run against the wind once more..
I heard that Brother, sounds like a plan to me.I just got Retired Myself after working for the same company for 40 years.I'm planning on riding My Harley alot more since I 've got more time than I've ever had.Ride Safe Brother.
I remember riding with my dad in an old Kenworth K 100 truck traveling Listening to Bob Seger And all kinds of other good music. I’m 41 now and he’s been gone for going on 2 years damn I’d give anything to relive those moments again and for him share those moments with his twin granddaughters like he did with me. Damn time flys.
I'm so glad I lived through these years . I might be a tad old now but this song brings back so many great memories. A great Song Bob thank you from the bottom of my heart. The 60s 70s the best time ever!
Timeless poetic lyrics. You hear it when you are young. You understand it when you are old. Edit. Thank you all for your beautiful comments. It helps me to keep runnin
I've been listening to Bob Seger for a lot of years now. His music is so GREAT, beautiful and sincere..it's timeless ❤ it will live on FOREVER :) it's timeless the GREATEST EVER!!!
I first played this song on the radio in the 1970s on WIOQ in Philadelphia, and I didn’t realize at the time that I was actually living those lyrics. Fortunately, after I got out of the radio business, I trusted in Christ as my savior in 1993, and ever since then I’ve been running with the wind at my back. Thank you Bob, for the music.
Where I grew up, we didn't have many radio options. Then the Army mid-70's. Finally there were CD's! I agree with all of the above. God Bless America while we still can.
You got this!! That light at the end of that dark tunnel is another day. When you hit bottom there's only one way to go up it gets better!!! Prayers for your break thru. You got this!!!
Hang in there buddy. We all carry our scars, it comes with the territory. A lot of us are searching for shelter again and again, against the wind. A little something against the wind.

80 years old this year. Hit the gym 3 times a week NEVER GIVE IN - and do something hard every day.
They don’t sing them like this anymore. A true Masterpiece with words that paint pictures!!
Love it
That's right!
Great song
When I lost my Beloved Son ✨ I lost my Beautiful pup🐾 we walked for years!! Thank you for a wonderful song 💓 God Bless All 💫🌈👣👣🐾🐾✨
It's that old time rock n roll.
Bob Seger is one of the greatest songwriters of all time!!!!!!
It seems like that's all I've done for 60 years of my life is running against the wind, despite what all has happened, Bob got me through. Thank you from the bottom of my heart
Just keep on doing just that Doesn't matter where you get. But at least it's not where everybody else is
I am 59 soon to be 60 and feel the same.
That is what most working men do their whole life. There is always one more hill to climb or river to cross. Stay strong.
"Wish I didn't know now, what I didn't know then." An extremely deep lyric.
As I listen to this song I think back ti 1980 and my first baby. He was stillborn. The father was my first love, I found out He passed away from cancer, I am 64 now, We are still running against the wind,
Wow...
At my age of 77. this song fills my heart and soul with emotion and love for Bob Seger
God bless!
His best song
Yea, you're absolutely right about that....Which of his songs is your favorite?
It is a most wonderfull song though - timeless quality - im 42 - but not relevant.
Marilyn, I listen to "wind" over and over. 73 year old big boys still cry
I forgot how good this song was....this is timeless... beautiful lyrics
"... Wish I didn't know now what I didn't know then..." Brilliant. Only old guys can really understand that line!
In a radio interview years ago I heard Bob say that he almost left that cheesy line out!
Exactly ….
Right up there with the greats and his ÷We've got tonight is another favorite.
This song automatically becomes your top song as you get more mature and older. You don’t believe me wait and see.
I’m 57 now. I’ve covered the late 70’s, the 80’s, and the 90’s. Yep, great music. Many pieces has put a stamp in my life. I am forever grateful. This song, however, seems to be art imitating life. My life.
Bob Seger testified into so many Midwestern hearts. A true vocal hero for us.
Bob Seger's one of the old-time and greatest
Love his music. As we are all running against the wind now with this fake current F Biden administration.
We al so love him in England.
Not just Midwestern
@@chrisw422 You know in your heart Biden has no intention of turning this country into Nazi America like Trump does. Hopefully your heart will breakthrough to your brain
This song is a Masterpiece. This song takes you to that emotional place that very few songs can do. The feeling you get while listening is pure joy along with pure nostalgia. Bob Seger is one of the greats of all time in Classic Rock. Nobody can reproduce the songs of Bob Seger.
Bob Seger has been kickin it since the 60’s. Loved all his music.
Played it at my Dad's funeral Rock on Bob best musician and 🎸 player saved rock and roll from dying
Hello how are you? So sorry for the infringe on your privacy. Beautiful song
💐
Been some time since I heard this truly fine song by Bob Seger. I was just 28 years old when I first heard it. I'm 68 now and it sounds as good as it did 40 years ago.
I was 24 when i first heard this song and you are so right my friend sounds as good as it did then........
@@marcellino1956 You're right about that Andy. The song sounds as fresh as if it was yesterday.
I can relate to this and I'm 47, just remember in 81 listening to this classic on my older brother's Sammy record player as it was yesterday. Seger to me along with Billy Joel, The Eagles & Jackson Browne wrote probably some of the best American rock music in the 70/80's.
I'm 53 and couldn't agree more! They don't put out songs and singers like this anymore!
@@reyannawynters1800 You've certainly got that right Reyanna. That quality of songs barely exists anymore these days.
I just never ever get tired of listening to that piano. So elegant and powerful. Like on many other Bob Seger songs.
This brings me back to 1980, as a young man in my first few years out on my own.
This man should be in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame!!!!
As of 2004 he was, but they took long enough doing it.
A timeless classic. No words could ever describe this nostalgic feeling we had /have listening to this song. The Golden Oldies.
Seger and CCR....dont know how my younger self would have survived without those two ....Just perfect for their time. And for now.
Thanks Bob and the band. Some of the best lyrics ever written. Just timeless.
We, boomers, know how to appreciate GOODD, REAL music. Love you, ALL.
That is a fact!
I’m a millennial and I hate 99% of the music that came out in my teenage years and 20’s. I find myself listening to the music my Mother (who is a boomer) played when I was a child more than anything else.
I'm 75 and saw Bob at the King Dome in Seattle years ago...I'm older now but still running against the wind...sigh...
He kept the Midwest rolling he never forgot us ! Just like John Mellancamp Indiana thanks you
I'll be a Michigan boy till the day I die. Bob Seger is a Michigan legend. His songs always make me think of home.
Bob segar one the greatest of all time
Yep💕✌️
@@ldmax Me too I have lived in Central Florida for 40 years now, But i'm still a Michigan boy at heart.
Iowa and the Midwest thanks them both. Keep riding.....
Oh, who put these together to make me cry so hard!? Beautiful. I loved this song and Bob Seger so much. My life was this music and now I have grandchildren and where did it go? I can't stop crying over this beautiful music that I grew up with. Xx
Bob Seger is the Man ,was then and still today ,my 2 kids went to the same High School in Lincoln Park , Michigan that Bob attended !!!!
Don't cry,, Get up and Dance to his music and all of the other great singers in this time. The best of the best singers and song
Writers, Will live on forever. My children love it also , because they grew up listening to it..... over and over.
wipe your tears away and rejoice that you were here to experience it -- such a privilege
but yes it can be sad as well I know xxx all the best
@@harmonicaessay9649 Thank you!
Yes it's beautiful music with great memories that run deep. Bob Seger and Gordon LIghtfoot were true story tellers. Cheers from Canada.
I'm 42 years old and was raised on Bob Seger and love his old stuff from the 70's and some from the 80's too
Always loved his music. I am female about to turn 70 and listening to this music is no hardship
Emotions difficulties of Life and all our Memories superbly Described.

Emotions difficulties of Life and all our Memories.
Lol,💕me 2🌹
You go girl ❤️❤️❤️
Loved all of this music growing up. 68 now and still running against the wind. Some day it will be quiet.
Drove to Anchorage, worked 7 nights a week, divorced, had 2 kids to care for...Inspiration 1980-81. Thanks for the help Bob! We all made it.
My favorite song from a childhood! From 1981! Salut from Russia!!
I was almost 20 when this came out. It's been one of my favorites since then. Salut from Indiana, USA
It’s just amazing to me how such a song can define one’s life. I feel like Bob Seger somehow was in touch with what my entire life has been like.
Me too . Every chance I get to through my legs over my bike and hit the wind. And I'm 70 yrs young. Love it. Only way live
Probably one of the best albums of 1980. Goodbye to the 70’s, a truly priceless time in music history.
Yes so true ba
The Great Bob 80s
I was a teenager in 80, 17,,, lol. This album was a sound track to that summer
I'm 71 ,grew up listening to the greatess singer of all time ,and still running against the wind ,my name is Jenny !!!!!
I'm someone else who is 71 and I will never stop listening to the songs who became more than a song I liked. They became friends that took me to a better/stronger place where I NEVER, EVER felt left out!!! Made many new friends from songs....now I have a lot of friends! 🌺🌺
Love his songs, which of his songs is your favorite?
I'm from Africa and I've been walking against the wind since 2022 since I lost the love of my life, my wife and my baby who would have been born, today I'm a nomad, continuing to run trying to see her in another way of life.
Peace to you and safe journey!
I'm so sorry
Dust On The Bottle ( David Lee Murphy )❤
You will catch up to her. Keep running
stay strong brother
Me n hubby dairy farmed 80s till we couldnt..he passed 2022..now i get cold..cant handle the wind..but boy we were young n strong at one time..
Always a great song with such meaningful lyrics. Recently widowed, the line, "Wish I didn't know now, what I didn't know then.", as more meaning
I'm sorry for the loss of your loved one
I add my condolences. It’s my late wife’s birthday and i have again recalled those immortal words “ I wish I didn’t know now what I didn’t know then”. She died ten months ago and her favourite film was Forrest Gump.
A long time passing
74 years, one heart operation that didn't quite work..
Family and friends gone.
That old wind gets stronger every day...
(Spock)🖖✌️
Anytime
During my mom and d!ds divorce I remember sitting alone no furniture, just a turntable and listening to this album , I swear my dad's pain was transferring to me ,he didn't know it
I wish I could do something to assuage your pain My Friend.
Sounds freaking amazing!! I may actually be jelly. Lol 😂 You go.... I'm still runnin against the wind 💨.
That would be a great movie idea. Hope it was all fun. Enjoy retirement
God bless top b. Enjoy your ride.
Welcome back sir. Enjoy your retirement now!
One of the greatest songs ever written. Seger was a true genius. This was a great video , and soundtrax for Forrest Gump.
...truly outstanding.
For anyone who doesn't understand the song...you will!
I'm so glad I lived through these years . I might be a tad old now but this song brings back so many great memories. A great Song Bob thank you from the bottom of my heart. The 60s 70s the best time ever!
I turned 60 in September! Feels like i belong in Bob's era!! Stunning music!❤
One of the best pieces of piano in history of popmusic, epic!!!!❤
Combat Engineer '68- '69 ! Don't ever give up , my brothers !
Two of my favourites paired together. Bob Seger and Running against the wind and also the Forrest Gump movie. Thank you.
Great song thanks for sharing. Real shame that today in so many ways we’ve lost the ability to make great songs and music like this.
Music that speaks to the soul
Absolutely Brilliant
Cheers
Timeless poetic lyrics. You hear it when you are young. You understand it when you are old.
Edit. Thank you all for your beautiful comments. It helps me to keep runnin
I understand now

Thank you for your service! I missed the Vietnam draft by three years and I am glad but I would have went if my country called me....
I am also 76, and have always been running against the wind, "Wish l didn't know now, what l didn't know then"
My favorite lyrics in this awesome song.
Amazing how we aged with Bob. Time flys. He's still a great. At time winds away, please all come to Jesus. You don't need a church. You need Jesus.
I've been listening to Bob Seger for a lot of years now. His music is so GREAT, beautiful and sincere..it's timeless ❤ it will live on FOREVER :) it's timeless the GREATEST EVER!!!
A fantastic song that touches just about every situation in my memory…
Thanks, Bob, it’s still so relevant.❤❤😢❤
Love this!!
Bob Seeger is my all-time favorite, musician, singer and songwriter….total talent!
My depression was quite severe yesterday so I listened to this song many times!
You got this!! That light at the end of that dark tunnel is another day. When you hit bottom there's only one way to go up it gets better!!! Prayers for your break thru. You got this!!!
shining brightly, Bob sieger
Music can heal and sooth the soul. It brings moments back that are needed for such repair.
Hang in there buddy. We all carry our scars, it comes with the territory. A lot of us are searching for shelter again and again, against the wind.
A little something against the wind.
Great movie; the Song appropriate for it, Good on you MR, Gump.
Thank you so much Mr Seger.
Bob Seger is a part of all my life. His music has been there for me since I was a teenager in the 70s to now at 66. He is one of the greats. Thank you, sir, for just being here.
