+Lennart Rentzow Perfect example for all of these young kids thinking it's all about handles and flashy play. Kobe at 34 is able to lock up someone that is looked at as top 20 player. Kyrie is definitely talented though not good enough to full an elite defender named Kobe Bryant.

Sounds like Kyrie played smart basketball to me. Why try to be physical and directly in the face of an aged Kobe Bryant when speed and agility was the more efficient option. Getting away from the defender and scoring was the more intelligent choice.

Truth was, Kobe DID take off defensive plays for about 3-4 years prior to his achilles tear....BUT.....it was a testament to his competitiveness that he could dial it back and showcase his fundamentals when he had and wanted to do so. Jordan and Wade were the same. Not all great players are great two way players.

Oh man Kobe is one bad man. Kyrie was calling Kobe out in the summer at team USA practice challenging him to 1 v 1, and here is Kobe's response. Kyrie's a baller for sure, but this duel reminded me Obi Wan vs Anakin where the young hot head with a lot of talent meets his master. Kobe's game is so much like MJ's it's eerie. This was like watching an old MJ just go to work and show how his complete mastery of basketball fundamentals are too much to overcome. Kyrie obviously had great game, but he did all his scoring against Laker's not named Kobe. He should feel humbled.
