When I saw that little spider on a different David Attenborough special I too, thought he was absolutely adorable. They are called peacock spiders. The one I saw had very soft looking purple legs. facts though. especially the ones that live in an area where the spider will eat ANY other spider or organism in its vicinity that isn't too big and can provide the right nutrients
ye its kinda weird how males are stronger then females in the normal world but in the wild its usually the females

You need that extra nutrient that you could spent for baby making. For mammals and several other tetrapods, bigger male means a competition for females. The opposite is also true. Some creature, like birds spend their resources on brighter color or more pronounced traits instead. Keep in mind that the bigger the difference between males and females, the less likely it would became monogamous relationship and the higher chance it's a polygamous or harem relationship.
