Just finished assembling the cage with this video as our guide and need to tell you that at 1:19, he puts the bar with the tray channel in UPSIDE DOWN. They show it corrected later but never tell you they corrected it so if you follow him and put it in this way, you can't add on the bottom rails. You can see in the video that he has the top and bottom screw holes covered by the bar, so there's nowhere to screw in the bottom of the next piece. The tray channel needs to be on the of the rail so that the tray can slide into it. Someone needs to make a visual note on the video!
"Trying" to find a print out of the instructions.....lost them and just sold the cage. I can't imagine trying to put this together with out them. I thought I had them....*sighs* I will post this link to their FB. :) Glad to have at least found this video!!! Thank you!
Hello, thank you for this video. I just bought a feisty ferret 485 cage for my rats and I am trying to prepare so I can finish the cage when it comes. What are the platforms, ramps, and the inside floor levels measurements? I am using rugs and coroplast for the floors. Would you say 20" by 30" rugs would fit over the entire bottom and top level floors? Do all 4 doors open if you only have the normal ramps in? Lastly would you say teenage rats would not escape the bars (almost normal sized rats but not quite)? Thank you again :)
My ferret's cage cage the 2nd floor grill damaged. The thin bars are snapping apart. Is there anyway to repair this. I only had this cage for 2 years. Not a long time.
Though the price for the cage is cheaper in comparison to the Critter Nation, the wire bottom and thin plastic ramps make a huge dent in most people's decision to buy it. A local petstore has both set up side to side, and the size difference isn't something you would expect. This cage is a lot smaller. I'll never regret getting my critter nation, it is made 100 times better and was a great investment. Plus I'm without the worry of my pets getting hurt. This cage has great potential to be improved by the manufacturers sometime in the future.You get what you pay for.
The cage we received would have been perfect if it wasn't for the fact that two of the screw holes were manufactured too small, beleive me, we tried to get the screws into those holes for probably a good half an hour.... we won't send it back because we really want to get our ferret soon, but we have had to find other things to connect those two holes with instead of the screws.... I hope not all cages were manufactured wrong because that kinda ruined the whole cage to be honest... Other than that the cage is very big and spacious and has the fun little levels too.

could you leave the bottom metal grate out and just use the plastic tray?

I just built one last night and it is a little wobbly but it is also pretty sturdy.
