Really helpful video! But you shouldn't bathe your ferret any more that once a month at MOST because it will eventually strip all of the natural oils from their skin which can make them have very dry and itchy skin which can lead to fur loss and pain for the ferret, as well as push the oil making into overdrive to try and compensate making her stink even more.
TheComedyClownfish awe I’m so happy for you! I can’t wait! I really want one my dad said maybe and I know EVERYTHING! I told he we NEED Wysong Food and the ferret nation cage with bars going up and down
great vid but you prolly should not bathe him/her often it strips there skin and makes them stink more cuz they let of more musky scent when it comes off
You're only supposed to bathe your ferret once a month. If that. And in warm water because their body temperature is higher than ours so what is neutral to us might be cold to them.
When they say multiple ferrets they mean the makings and colors. There are no mean ferrets just some require someone more experienced. Ferrets aren't smelly unless neglected or overly bathed and shouldn't be bathed except every 3 months or two times a year unless needed. Do not listen to pet stores they suck on info. They need 3 to 4 hours of play time a day they sleep around 18. Ferrets are better in cages. They are expensive and make sure you have an exotic vet near you that treats them. Make sure your ferrets have blankets instead of wood chips and bedding. They are strictly meat eaters but can eat high quality grain free cat food. Marshall ferret food is horrible so is zoopream. A few good ones arare wysong, orijin, wellness core, evo, and nates variety. No foods from Walmart is okay. Ferrets can be bought seperatly and paired together. Ferrets bond to other ferrets and if that happens best not to separate it can cause them to get sick depressed and even some cases die. Ferret kits do nip don't get one thinking they don't they're babies and need trained. Make sure they are legal in your state. As always better to adopt than buy. Have a nice day!
Hi! You commented a while ago but I'm getting 2 ferrets next month from a guy that I know, I'm a teenager and my mom has had ferrets before. Idk if you'll see this haha but do you know what a really overweight ferret should eat? I could do some research but I'd rather get it from someone who knows a bit. I'm not sure exactly how much he weighs, but the owner says he's overweight and has been on a diet. Their cage is one tier, so that obviously isn't good and they'll have a new cage here. Do I just feed him normally and exercise him? He's 6 months old also. The owner says that he just runs around for a minute then gets tired and sleeps, so I'm not sure what to do. Thanks so much if you reply. xx
For bathing the ferret, their body temperature is higher than an average humans so when bathing them you have to put the water a little hotter than you would want it, but its really only what the ferret wants
Is she ok with being on her own? I got told you should have at least 2 together so they can socialise & play. I'm just wondering as I would prefer one at first as two would obviously be a little bit more hectic lol x
if you get a ferret I suggest you get two. :) I've always had two and found it to be so much better with two of them. Playing together. You can get one. I had my eldest how old both of her buddies and never wanted another. but my other five always had a play mate.
I'm doing a lot of research on ferret care because I'm begging my mom for one, and came across this video. I've seen other videos too but I have a question for anyone who is educated on this stuff. Most ferret parents have a ferret nation enclosure, so is the cage that she is using okay for a ferret as well?
some people will probably say no but my ferret has been happily in this cage for 6 years now! She loves it and I don't have a single negative thing to say about it
Its depends on both the ferret itself and the owner and how active they are with each other. If shes just put in for the night she will be okay but the bigger the cage the better especially if she wont be able to free roam most of the time.
I was thinking of getting this exact cage! It is good to know the real size and space! Great video and good health care tips, but you should only wash them once a month at most.
Hi, I'm 15 & I really want a ferret but I am going to be at school at 7:00 am until 2:55 pm, so around 6 hours and I am afraid that I won't be able to give my ferret the attention that it needs everyday, since I will be at school for so long & my family really don't like ferrets that much because of their stench & because they're ugly in their eyes so they won't take care of my animal for me, while I'm at school most likely, but of course once I get home from school I will have 3:00 all the way to 10:00 pm to take care of my ferret and give it a bath and feed her/him..or maybe I could wake up a little earlier and give my ferret some food and water before I go..but he/she will be in the cage most of the day..until I get home..would that be okay? of course once I get home I will play with her/him and let the ferret roam around the basement for a hour, I'd like to keep the ferret in my room and let it play in my room with me instead because my house can be messy at times and I don't want the ferret to accidentally eat toxic foods on the ground like coffee beans and everything. What should I do? any advice?
I think you will be ok as they do sleep alot and as long as they depending on if you get one or 2 , got food an water And plenty of play time say about a hr and half in yr chosen room i think you will enjoy there company as i do .good luck
Yes, you'll be fine. I'm 13 and I go to school from 8am until 3:30pm and I have two ferrets. Just give them some food and water in the morning before you go to school. After school, I put up an animal pen that I put either in my room or the garden when it's warm enough (not too hot, ferrets don't like temperatures over 26 degrees Celsius/85 Fahrenheit) and play with them for an hour or so. After that i feed them again and give them fresh water. Maybe 4 or 5 days a week I take them on a walk on a lead to my local park and they love it. PS. Ferrets don't actually smell that bad. Make sure you don't wash them too often, I wash mine every four months, unless they get really muddy at the park. If you wash them too often, their bodies will produce more oil, which makes them smell worse. Have fun :)
This was very helpful cause I'm getting a ferret soon and I have been watching videos like this cause I know nothing about ferrets. Btw your ferret is cute !!!
Hello, I've always wanted a ferret and I'm moving soon into my new house. There is a spare room which I will most likely make a pet room for any animal. So I'm considering getting a ferret once we are settled in. I have a shih tzu, but I most likely won't let them interact without supervision. Thanks for making this video. It was very helpful and even though I know the basics of ferrets, I just wanted to know that I knew everything that was required to know. Also I just have one question. Where did you get your ferret? I figured I would get one from the pet store. I know you can get them from Craig's list and stuff, but I don't really want to do that. So any tips on different places I could get one? And as I said where did you get your's.
Derpy Senpai I personally don't believe there is much to know about ferrets, as you get to know your ferret you will learn more about their unique needs, just make sure you give it tons of attention and I give my food and water at all times I know some people have specific times they feed it. Watch youtube videos on how to cut their nails and clean their ears that'll help with the smell. I just got mine a petco though nowhere special!
hey so, i love your channel and i really dont mean this in a rude way however, i do think your ferret could use a few more toys or hammocks in their cage, some on the lower levels especially. Again, i love your channel and this is just my opinion. keep up the great work!
You have the exact same cage I do! Does your ferret not mind not having bedding? Cause if it doesn't I'm thinking about taking the bedding out of mine (attracts fruit f lys when they throw their food)
u keep the litter at the top? did u try the litter at the bottom but it kept crapping on the shelves? does it ever go outside its litter box in the cage? thinking of buying my ferret a cage like this as its getting pretty big now for the cage its in... its about 8 months old now.
is it ok to have just one ferret? I have been told you need 2 or more but there is only one at my local shealter and any other shealter costs 120.00 per ferret
That cage is perfect size for her.its just her right so there plenty of space for her.im hoping to get a ferret in the best couple weeks for my birthday lol this is about the size I'll get.great videos
that cage is really small and shouldn't be used. a good cage is the ferret nation, prevue frisky ferret cage, or even the hagen living world deluxe habitat
This video was really helpful cuse im trying to persuade my parents to let me get a ferret so the more info the better btw can you make a how to persuade your parents to get a ferret video
I’m so exited I get my ferret in two days abd she’s a little baby 9 1/2 weeks old and for only £25 (dw she’s not going to be alone my sister is getting on too)
Thanks so much! This helped a lot I'm going to buy a red colored ferret and this helped a loylt btw red ferrets are rare and they look like red pandas.
I just came from your other video and hun please take this on the chin as advice and nothing more. This cage is not the best I recommend if you are American get a ferret nation cage they are awesome. The corner litter box needs to go you should be able to fit a full sized litter box in the cage otherwise it is automatically to small. The water bottle needs to go those chip their teeth. She is probably climbing to the next level because she wouldn’t like the slide please upgrade your cage. If you want a lot of information I recommend pazuandfriends as a UA-cam she is loaded with information and Bryn was also miss informed when she got her ferret so you will be able to relate a lot. Also please please try swapping to a raw diet it is so much better for them you will see a huge difference in daisy in a good way!
UA-cam Pros yes you will need one, they have tons of options at local pet stores. The bigger the better so your ferret has room to play when you can't have them out.

I have had 6 ferrets in the past you should also take them to the vet and get their distemper shots, if you do alot of research they have a distemper shot when they are born, but they do need another one in case they get sick. Ferrets can get sick quickly , and go downhill in days to minutes. n
hi... this video is 2 years old so you may have updated, but that cage really isn't good unless your ferret is a free roam and barely locked up :( you said in the video sometimes you don't get the chance to let her out for a day.. i recommend investing in a ferret nation or feisty ferret home cage. they take up a lot of space, but it's unfair to keep her locked up for a day, in that cage especially !
(Warning might be a long comment) I convinced my mom to let me hold a ferret at the store and she didn’t bite right away like others and when I put my hand in the cage she didn’t bite and so my mom liked her and she was acting cute and jumping around so my mom let me buy her (name:Gemma) she was left alone in the cage so that’s another reason I wanted her cause ik their social and she was alone in that cage so I felt bad and I read A LOT about ferrets but I don’t know how to ferret proof the router and tv wires
NicNac 325 yea A expert animal girl said that... she has a lot of different animals and I'm not talking of 6 animals No! Im talking of like I don't know around 30+ and she said to clean it at least once a day, but she does have like 6 of them...
yes, they poop a lot but you can quite easily potty train them in a litter tray. DON'T use normal cat litter because it has stones in it and they are messy and get in the ferret's nose. Also, it needs quite a large cage. not necessarily BIG, but TALL. It should probably be multistory. You can put stuff for them to play with like hammocks and toys.
Ferrets gain weight in the winter ! No mater what u do to prevent it ! It's natural . All mine gain weight in the winter and loose it in the spring and summer ! I currently own 5 .
Can you guys check this out for me plz??? savagelyuniqe.com
PLZ?!!!
They should only be bathed at max 3 times a year
Naw bro twice a year is enough
and she wonders why it stinks
The fact that you said your friends ferret was "gross" because it was big is disgusting
Can you guys check this out for me plz??? savagelyuniqe.com
PLZ?!!!
like it was mostly a male and shes alway had females
I'm so excited!! I'm getting a fuzzbutt in like a month or so. I can't wait to cuddle him, and play with him, and love him!

immmm go to 1:38 um how is a kittwn sised ferrit gross??? i think thats cute as heck!!!!!
Demon Paw same my ferret is
"It was honestly kinda gross".... gross? Well alright then
Almondot Artz ikr? I had a hob and I was so surprised when she said that. I think big ferrets are the best.

+Chloe Del Monte They will be okay on their own if you have enough time to play with it.
How much play time would you say one needs?
Play with them until they are tired. Or atleast until they lose interest in playing with you
What type of cage is it? Have you found out please help!!
How does your ferret stay in your hands for so long mine would use its nails to get out

i seen in other videos, do they need dust baths like chinchillas? or roll around in something?
Can I use natural dog shampoo?
Can they bite through wood?
This was very helpful cause I'm getting a ferret soon and I have been watching videos like this cause I know nothing about ferrets. Btw your ferret is cute !!!
Lauren Rivera oh yay I'm glad this helped you out! You're gonna love having a ferret as a pet! Thanks so much
no problem!! ;)
Where do they do their things like number 1 and 2 do they do it in the cage
if you get them a litter trsy they will do it there. theyre quite clean and tidy
Where did you get your ferret? lmao you should ot have any toys in a cage, and that cage is way to small for one
@@angelmarie9687 ummm weirdo
You have the exact same cage I do! Does your ferret not mind not having bedding? Cause if it doesn't I'm thinking about taking the bedding out of mine (attracts fruit f lys when they throw their food)
You shouldn't put hay or bedding. it hurts their feet
should i hide wires like phone chargers and and tv cables?
Yes because ferrets will bite cables
Yes, they chew cords
how can I hide the tv cable???
Are ferrets loving and do they get attached?
+SkittleSlap I think it depends on the ferret, mine both have been very loving
u keep the litter at the top? did u try the litter at the bottom but it kept crapping on the shelves? does it ever go outside its litter box in the cage? thinking of buying my ferret a cage like this as its getting pretty big now for the cage its in... its about 8 months old now.
NichoTBE ferret nation is the best cage for ferrets
Salem Ross I'll check it out thanks
NichoTBE do you know what vaccines to get in when because I'm getting a Ferret in June I know everything is cut out on a pair except for that
You can get it in a exotic pet stores.
is it ok to have just one ferret? I have been told you need 2 or more but there is only one at my local shealter and any other shealter costs 120.00 per ferret
it's 250 at my store for one...
ask if there is any ferrets in the back room at petco or petsmart because they probably have free ones they had for at least a year
+Jelena 292 ok thank you

Secretary OK thanks sorry I didn't respond I was sleeping.
This was so educational! Thank you!
Do you have to clean ferrets ears?
Rebeg0 AJ I love seeing animal jam people on different types of video :P
i want to get a ferret but i dont know if i sould i go to school
do you have to take ferrets to the vet
yes. You do.
Could i have the link to the cage please
I reccomend a bigger cage, like a two story one.
how do you get rid the smell
+Andrew Mulholland clean their ears and give them baths! Also, make sure to keep the cage clean (:
I really like that cage could you give me some more info about it cause I think it will suit my ferret well
that cage is really small and shouldn't be used. a good cage is the ferret nation, prevue frisky ferret cage, or even the hagen living world deluxe habitat
can you use cat litter
Some cat litters are safe. Non clay based ones like world's best and swheat scoop for clumping, or non clumping paper litters.
Did u spay her coz I’m wondering if I should spay one that I’m getting
You have to neuter female ferrets or they'll get aplastic anemia
Thanks for the info, that was really helpful!
Late! I was wondering why she doesn't have bedding.
This video was really helpful cuse im trying to persuade my parents to let me get a ferret so the more info the better btw can you make a how to persuade your parents to get a ferret video
I’m so exited I get my ferret in two days abd she’s a little baby 9 1/2 weeks old and for only £25 (dw she’s not going to be alone my sister is getting on too)
ferrets used to be used for hunting a long time ago and was illegal for a while to have a ferret as a pet and it still is in some states
they still are used for hunting now
i've wanted a ferret for 2 years now and had my chance but my dad said no 2 days ago😭
Chloe Patterson once my dog died and my dad said "or a ferret or a new dog" do yea me 2...
Chloe Patterson my dad said I can have one if I work for it
i’ve wanted one for 4 1/2 years now and my parents finally said yes i’m getting two tomorrow
its best to buy ferrets in pairs if you want one but u dont have the time to play as much im pretty sure
I really enjoyed watching it. :)
Thank you so much!
Hey your ferret is so cute! and cool cage thanks for doing the video:V
I have 2 i just got the second one today hes 3 weeks
When I get a ferret in April I'm naming it Sausage
Vegans have left the chat
Here's a tip I dont know anything about your ferret but you should not have toys in the cage but if that's what your ferret likes then you do you
also, was your previous ferret a male?
+SkittleSlap yes!
Thanks so much! This helped a lot I'm going to buy a red colored ferret and this helped a loylt btw red ferrets are rare and they look like red pandas.
Do you take your ferret to the vet?
Yes once a year just for a check up
you should do a ferret tag
Your ferret must be lucky to have such a great owner :)
maria delmar gonzalez vargas vargas hahaha you are too sweet, thanks so much (:
do you need to give her shots from vet
yes once a year
You should buy a second one because they do get depressed over time. Unless you can play with them a lot
if your ferret bites scruff it for a few seconds
I just came from your other video and hun please take this on the chin as advice and nothing more. This cage is not the best I recommend if you are American get a ferret nation cage they are awesome. do you need a cage for a ferret
UA-cam Pros yes you will need one, they have tons of options at local pet stores. The bigger the better so your ferret has room to play when you can't have them out.
UA-cam Pros You can keep them in a pen or a small room, and eventually they can free roam in a SUPERVISED AND FERRET PROOF HOME.
They can free roam but I recommend you get a cage. It's safer. My ferret runs free but I put him in his cage at night or when it's not safe
I think the width of the cage is a bit small but the height is more than enough ( not to hate...)
why is it gross that ur friends was the size of a kitten "gross" why ????????
I 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍 ferrets so much

You know that you ALWAYS HAVE TO buy 2 fetterd right???
Mine actually does better alone - although recommend to have two it’s situational forsure
I have had 6 ferrets in the past you should also take them to the vet and get their distemper shots, if you do alot of research they have a distemper shot when they are born, but they do need another one in case they get sick. Ferrets can get sick quickly , and go downhill in days to minutes. n
Johanna Cox If you have experiense please let me know. A ferret need to be washed once a month , or twice a year ??
a tip to make ur ferret even more healthy is during the day make the room as dark as possible whilest she is sleeping
my brother just got me a ferret today. great video. his name is Meeko :D
hi... this video is 2 years old so you may have updated, but that cage really isn't good unless your ferret is a free roam and barely locked up :( you said in the video sometimes you don't get the chance to let her out for a day.. i recommend investing in a ferret nation or feisty ferret home cage. they take up a lot of space, but it's unfair to keep her locked up for a day, in that cage especially !
Awww man I want one too bad but I live in CA
Thank you that is so helpfull
(Warning might be a long comment) I convinced my mom to let me hold a ferret at the store and she didn’t bite right away like others and when I put my hand in the cage she didn’t bite and so my mom liked her and she was acting cute and jumping around so my mom let me buy her (name:Gemma) she was left alone in the cage so that’s another reason I wanted her cause ik their social and she was alone in that cage so I felt bad and I read A LOT about ferrets but I don’t know how to ferret proof the router and tv wires
Your not suppose to clean the ferret often
NicNac 325 yea A expert animal girl said that... she has a lot of different animals and I'm not talking of 6 animals No! Im talking of like I don't know around 30+ and she said to clean it at least once a day, but she does have like 6 of them...
yes have two together
I used to have a ferret! best pets ever.
Couldn't agree more, they are so fun and cute!
Do ferrets poop a lot pls let me know cuz I'll buy one if my mom let's me
yes, they poop a lot but you can quite easily potty train them in a litter tray. DON'T use normal cat litter because it has stones in it and they are messy and get in the ferret's nose. Also, it needs quite a large cage. not necessarily BIG, but TALL. It should probably be multistory. You can put stuff for them to play with like hammocks and toys.
wish NYC legal some day. I really want a ferret so bad. adorable.
the ferret is adorable
Laura Cisneros Thank you so much, I love her (:
Thanks so much
It could be twixe
So cute!!! I want one! I wish they were legal in California!
I've always found it so weird that they're illegal anywhere hahah.
thank you for liking ferrets
a good cage is ferret nation
I need to know about the poop
Is it naturally trained or do u have to teach it
You should get the ferret nation cage and that slide does not look sturdy
She doesn’t use her slide
damn. 189 for that cage?. i just bought the same exact cage from amazon for 85 dollars.
Kara Fournier ha, she had to pay 100$ more 😂😂😂
So cute😍😍
Here is something to help with the smell. ua-cam.com/video/S-jvas9OuKc/v-deo.html Hope it helped!
Edit: Making it a little less OiF.
Ferrets gain weight in the winter ! No mater what u do to prevent it ! It's natural . All mine gain weight in the winter and loose it in the spring and summer ! I currently own 5 .
They need 2 - 4 hours of daily play outside of the cage . 2 of thoes hours needs to be interactive play with you .
My hamster climbs like that too
next month am getting a ferret ^.^ !
tnx
