As a youngster I didn’t appreciate this track enough. But now, at pushing 50, I can finally see how sublime it is. I guess time is the ultimate test of everything.
Yes but everyone appreciated the remix, sweet harmony, this original was forgotten and drowned out but sweet harmony but the original is truly a beautiful record
Yes brother. Got mad love for rockstar for dropping gems like this on us. Not even a fan of house music, but this track and joe smooth's promised land are straight up masterpieces. Very powerful music and the message in the music is just as powerful. I would actually classify this as Soul music since it hits me at my core every time i hear it. I also believe this is why i have such a deep attachment to flutes lol.

We were in our mid teens in the early 90s when i first heard this and we used to go to Bagleys in King Cross and dance until the sun came up. Those early experiences shaped and defined so much of our lives to come. Im so happy to hear it again. But sad the message in the song - 37 years later for me - is further away than it was then. sigh. Love you Jay!!!

One of the best tunes ever!! Great Lyrics, bass, piano and harmony.. Theres an awful lot of old school house which have a message of peace, love and harmony. What an era...At the time it was compared to the 60s, I personally think it was better, I don't think most of us realised back then what we had.. The music and DJs were at its best, the energy was immense, if you could bottle that it would be priceless!! No big egos, if you knocked somebody's drink out of their hand you ended up best mates all nite!!! Truly grateful - Peace and Love -- We'll live as one family, In perfect harmony
It's not embarrassing, this song really can do that to alot of people. A dream of a better day someday for all of us. How could you not shed a tear at the thought of that?

The world is cold and times are bad
Everytime I think about it, it makes me sad
War and drugs are everywhere
And it's getting so hard to breathe the air
But it doesn't have to be like this
All the rancour and bitterness
If we can just open our eyes
We can make the world a paradise someday
We'll live as one family in perfect harmony someday
When we all pull together we will all be free someday
Free from the pressure and the prejudice
We can change it all with tenderness
There'll be no void between black and white
We'll be able to walk the streets at night
I won't be fooled while someone dies of starvation
The whole world will be my nation
We will walk hand in hand
I'll go to South Africa and be called a man someday
We'll live as one family in sweet harmony someday
If we all pull together we will all be free
