I really admire Kim staying true to the friendship she had with Prince. So many people are unable to have a professional boss/employee relationship but also share a friendship as well. I would imagine Kim’s longevity with Prince had much to do with her honesty and kindness but also with her ability to balance their business relationship and their friendship. I think he considered her to be a member of his Family. ☔️💜☔️

Isn't she fabulous? I have heard her before and I just love her. Not a surprise that Prince had her around for as long as he did and she probably knows him better than anyone. Cannot wait for her book to come out. Great interview. Thank you.

I'm a little annoyed with Kim and the way she said "it was beautiful" like 45 times (even about his death?) and the way she sidestepped ur questions..I get that she has a book to promote BUT she could have given us soooomething. It was an excellent question! There was truly a change during the 2010-14 period. He even grew out his hair to afro style. The Art Official Age album was revealing. IMO, I think Andy Allo greatly influenced him personally and musically. Again, just an observation...

What a great woman! Loved listening to this conversation! The whole uncovering series is so well done and just wonderful! "My name is Prince" and "7" were two of the first CDs I've ever owned. I was only 3 years old back then, and some of my earliest memories are connected to his music (the same goes for MJ's and Madonna's). I, therefore, really treasure his late 80s and early 90s stuff. I've only started looking into the artist behind the music pretty recently. Your channel is such a fun help (re)discovering the purple universe. Thank you so much for your beautiful work!
It was exciting TRYING to keep up because there was always a surprise from him. He had so much going on all at once that his life was unbelievable! He burned so Bright for so long in EVERYthing! He was so much fun & Business. He did & said things other people didn't dare.it was like an inside joke for those who loved him vs. those who criticized, couldn't keep up or wanted to get over. We laughed knowing OUR PRINCE was Always a step ahead & on top. Kim, Thank you for sincerely loving our Man & sharing with us. We Love you too Kim. Keep Shining like Prince taught you!😁

mooky, Kim isn't going to spill any tea. She's a celebrity hairstylist. If she does a tell-all on Prince, no one will work with her. Let's hope Kirk Johnson writes a book. He was with Prince before Purple Rain and until the day he died. Kirk has the real tea.

This is completely lovely. Hers is the one book that I look forward to reading about Prince. Question: at 52:30 she tells of the time when the bridge broke in Minnesota over the Mississippi River and he helped people financially. What bridge? Does anyone know about this? Just curious.
She is a great story teller. She is hilarious.
19 years old in 1999 during Rave with the ribbons and worked with him since fresh out of beauty school.... But Tanya left in 1993/94 or possibly later. Kim was on the Oprah episode in 96 which would have made her....16/17? She also stated that she started with him around 1987/88 which would have made her...9 or 10. Can you guys please find Tanya Thompson and all the rest of the hairdressers who worked with him after Tanya left and get this bullshit sorted out? LOL.
Would like to know her thoughts and feelings on the death of Prince.
THis was so GOOD...I have a feeling that once we all read Diamonds and Curls we are going to LOVE PRINCE even more...Is that EVEN Possible ? Cant wait for that book....thanks for yet another Great show

Fantastic interview y’all! Oh my gosh, each one you do, I think ‘this is the Best’ but then the next rolls out. I became a huge Kim B fan long ago. She is an icon herself but so very humble & true to who she is to the core. I can’t wait for her awesome book & her product line. It may not be for my type of hair but will try it anyway..LOL

Another great interview guys! I like Kim but she is really off on her years with Prince. She said she started in 87 or 88 but Earl Jones was doing Prince's hair at that time. If she started after Prince was curling his sideburns then that would be around 92-93.

Kim is the most LOYAL of everyone!! She speaks from her heart. A good place. With genuine L❤VE for Prince. She definitely knows everything. We all talk to our stylist, bar tenders ect.... Her stories are so fun. She's funny also....lol! I loved the long hairstyle and the short ones she did. Much respect and admiration for her. I'd love for her to style me.
