- Hi everyone, I am so excited to share this awesome technique with you!
Making your own stamps/stencils from hot glue!
I learned this technique from Traci Bautista who is an amazing mixed media artist.
I love the way my stamps and stencils came out and the results I got when used with different acrylic paints and sprays. Super easy and oh so fun!
I hope you'll give this a try, I would love to see what you all come up with!
Thanks so much for watching!
Non Stick Mats can be purchased here: www.ltdcommodit...
You can check out Traci's blog and YT channel here kollaj.typepad.... and here / treicdesigns
You have a real ability as a teacher! Every part of the process was clear and easy to follow. Thanks for sharing such a great video!
Who knew hot glue would come in handy for creating stamps and stencils.I love your art journal pages. Very cute. I love the colors you chose. Great job Tara! TFS!!! ~T.J.
All I can say is WOW! Hot glue inexpensive and so universal. I am so trying this. TFS!!!
OMG I love this, I absolutely love thisssssssssssss! It's so amazing. You know what at the place where I live it's hard to buy reasonably-priced well-qualified stamps, and I'm a student so I don't have lots of money to afford them. So your video is like magic to me, seriously, like the light at the end of the tunel. Thank you so much. God bless you.
WOW, This is something really cool. Thanks for showing, Tara.
Hugs,
Archana
so amazing to make stamps out of glue itself! I love your leaf and boxes design especially.
Great find on those non-stick mats. Those are WAY better, and cheaper than the ones I usually see advertized. Super idea on those stencil/stamps!
+LettieNugent.com Thank you and Tfw!
I'm going to be trying this out! Thank you for the tips!
Crafting Vicky You're welcome, Tfw!
Fantastic ideas and techniques. Thank you so much for sharing your experience and work with us all. Very much appreciated!
Thanks for watching and commenting!
I also made these once. It is so much fun! Thanks for sharing!
Thank you! I would have to agree about the detail glue gun. I bought one about a year ago and after the first couple of uses the tip fell off, while I was using it! I was so upset, I returned it to Joanns immediately. Then when I started making these stencils I wanted to try using a detail glue gun so I went and bought this brand again as it was the only one available. Hopefully this will last longer, we'll see!
if you put a dot of hot glue on the end of the new glue stick before you put it in you don't need to hold it
Abby Glassmeyer question
Abby. On which end?
Awesome trick....thank you!
Such an economical prof creator Tara. The thick paint which you didnt like looks great from this side.
I absolutely love this idea, awesome job. Thanks for posting.
Thank you!
LOL Menage st tree... funny! I too, get goofy when I'm sleep deprived. I start giggling at my own unfunny jokes.
I haven't tried this, as I'm not I to mixed media, or art journaling. But I can see how smaller versions would work on cards. So when we get moved into our own place again, I plan to make a couple of them. Right now I have no space for storage.
Thanks for sharing your talents with us. Hugs,Jess
You're welcome! Thanks for stopping by!
Thanks Chauntelle! Looks like you had fun playing with some designs! Thanks for sharing what you did.

Great job! So creative! Thanks so much for sharing!
this was really amazing and inexpensive way to make stencils and stamps. thank you for sharing.
Yes it is and I love the customization of it also, no one will have the same stamp or stencil as you because you made it yourself!
Love this idea. I think it would be a good texture under a pressed foil. I love the squares/rectangle.
Thank you!
Thanks for this excellent tutorial. The possibilities are endless!
LOVE!!! It was fun watching you play! Really great stencils and love your work, Lady. TFS!! xx Mary
Love it! I saw glue gun stenciling on another youtube post but love your's as well! I presented this technique today along with another printing technique at an art workshop! It went over well!
mamamonster Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for watching and commenting!
for those that cant watch, use your glue gun to create the image you like, then use the flat side of it for stamping, and spray over the top, bumpy side for stencil use, etc. Then she used sharpie markers to embellish the flower and words on the page, outlining them and adding black to accentuate features.
WHAT CAMERA DO YOU USE? GREAT CLOSE-UPS, =)
Thank you so much for explaining what I did for those who can't see the video! Darn YT won't let me remove the music. I use a Bloggie Touch, and I love it! Great camera but Sony doesn't sell it anymore, you can find it on Ebay though. Thanks again!
NurseTara04 You are welcome, =). I was tired or i would have been more wordy! A bloggie touch, hmmm.
I am so excited to find this video, because now I can create my own word stamps. I live in Brazil and have such a hard time finding stamps here in the language and buying them is not an option because of the cost. So THANK YOU THANK YOU for sharing this.

Love this. My question is...(I've never used a glue gun before today) how do you keep from getting those stringy threads of glue? How do you get such crisp lines?
Thank you!
So, cool and love your pages.

How cool, thank you so much, I love to learn!!
Hi. I loved this video. I've used hot glue in my mixed media, and I know how wonderful it can be. I had no idea it could be used for stamps/stencils. I will totally try this over my Thanksgiving break. BTW, I can see how my regular glue gun would be better. I must ask you about your music selection, if you don't mind. I just don't recognize all of the artists and I really enjoyed them. I love to further my craft and my music horizons. I think you did a very good job on this video.
Thank you! The music is from Rhianna and Drake
Thanks!

Yes I have seen them, they have been out for about a year now, they do sell them at Michael's also. I have yet to purchase some but I do want them so I can pour resin in them. Thanks for watching!

What would you suggest for a base to make stencils with the glue gun
An oven mat works great. It’s nonstick and heat resistant.
@@NurseTara04 what are the oven mat's made of
@@gloriagiefer3013 I’m not sure of the exact material, but it’s a slick surface not like silicone.
@@NurseTara04 is it like the refrigerator mats that you can put in your refrigerator I don't know if those are made of silicone or not
@@gloriagiefer3013 I’m not sure, I haven’t heard of refrigerator mats. I know craft mats made by Ranger and oven mats both work because of the heat resistance.
Can you make coasters that way? Because it seems like using that technique would make good coasters
Deniza Suleymanova I'm sure it would! Go for it, I bet your coasters will look great!
NurseTara04 Thanks :)
Nice😍 what is the paint in the spray bottle called?
Absolutely beautiful! Well done, I'll certainly try this. What spray paints did you use?
+Barbara Ingley Thank you! I used Lindys stamp gang and also some homemade paint sprays. Tfw1
Thank you. Barbara.
What if all your stamps come out really faded? Have I done something wrong?
Like the glue stencils idea...and the song ! Who is that? Thanx!
+Sunny Smith Thank you!
Thanks, you totally should, you'll love it!
