I was just sent this link. Excellent guide. This is one of my favourite areas and I’m overjoyed at how it has been sympathetically restored over recent years.
I appreciate this tour. My maternal grandfather is from Barbados. In my quest to relocate I had not considered the island until watching this. However, now Barbados is a possibility. Much thanks.
Brilliant vlog Jae, thanks for sharing, very informative. I haven't visited Speightstown, looks like I really missed out here but would really like to spend a day exploring on a future trip👌✨
Love the information on one of my favourite places in Barbados!! it doesn't matter how many times you visit Barbados there is always something new to learn..😊
Thank you for watching and commenting. 🥰You will absolutely love Speightstown I am sure. There is so much happening here in Barbados, it’s wonderful to see things begin to open up again after the pandemic. 💕
New subscriber. Fantastic vlog I felt as though I was there with you. I agree with you about PAC bakery absolutely delicious sweet delicacies and so fresh. A favourite of mine are the “coconut turnovers”. Speightstown is so scenic and tranquil and some of the old buildings simply stunning. Shall definitely visit some of those eateries the next time I return. With all the planned developments for the area I really hope the beautiful ambience of Speightstown doesn’t lose its beauty.
Thank you so much for watching and subscribing I really appreciate your support. So lovely to hear you love the coconut turnovers! 😋I like you hope the beautiful ambience is left untouched. 🥰
You are welcome. 😊Thank you for taking the time to watch and comment. Are you coming on holiday or retiring or relocating? Let me know when you arrive.🏝️🌞
Thank you for watching and commenting. 🥰 So lovely to hear you will be here soon. It’s such a beautiful place to be. 🌴 You’re welcome to let me know when you arrive…. Barbados is a small island. 🏝️
I was just in Barbados and visited the PRC bakery. Great breads, great prices. So sorry I didn't buy raisin bread to take back with me to the states. Speighstown is where I would retire...loooove it there.
Hi Maxmax, so excited to hear this! I loooove Speightstown too! 💕🏝️☀️So glad you enjoyed your trip and visited the bakery too! Yes we often take salt bread and raisin slices for friends & family 😋😋😋
Hello Jae I was watching thi video whilst lazing in bed! After seeing all that lovely cuisine, I could not laze in bed anymore, I’ve now got an appetite!! 😂 Anyway, this is such a lovely video showcasing all what is on offer in Speightstown. I can also see the time taken to capture good content, plus with editing it etc. Thank you!!
Thank you so much for your feedback. I do appreciate you watching and commenting. 🥰Yes I have been trying to develop and improve my editing! It’s a journey😅but it’s great to hear you are noticing it. Yes the food is delicious here… 😋but it is always worth doing your research so hopefully this is a helpful start.😊
Thank you for watching and for commenting I really appreciate it. 🥰The first restaurant is PIER ONE also known as yacht club and it is lovely!👌🏾It’s in Speightstown but at the far northern end at Port St Charles. Here is the link. Book ahead as it can be busy as yachts stop here.🌞 g.co/kgs/fnZdjC
Hi Latoya, I would definitely check out the different coastlines first to see if you prefer the north coast east coastlines which are more rugged and then the west and south coast for Caribbean Sea and calmer waters great for swimming. Or do you prefer the interiors with cool breezes and views onto coastal areas.Eg the parish of St Andrew, Must sees for me are the towns - Bridgetown Holetown and Speightstown and definitely Bathsheba, North Point and the parish of St Philip near Crane Beach hotel. Hope that helps. Sorry for delay in getting back to you. Just getting connected with regular broadband at home! 💕💖
I love your videos, can't believe you're old enough to retire you only look like you've just finished your paper round!!!!! I suppose the question on everybody's lips is detail about how much you need to live there. I have no concept is £1,000, £2,000 or £5,000 needed if you want to comfortably retire there? Perhaps you could do a video with a monthly breakdown of all the costs. These sorts of things are immensely popular on UA-cam
Hi Thank you for you video. Nice You have shown a lot of fish and sea food dishes. We are coming end of Nov. My wife is vegetarian. Do the restaurants shown by you cater for vegetarians??
@@expatbarbados-jaeophelia Thank you. As per your previous advice, we have booked car hire for 10 days. Drop off and pick up from hotel. Two days after our arrival
I've spent months researching, watching snd studying about Plan B and Snowbird locations. I have come to the conclusion that Barbados is THE place between the US and Uruguay, which is too far away.
Hi Jae. Would there be any particular preference of either Speightstown or Holetown for the first time visitors looking for a quiet location but near amenities and conveniences??
Hi Dovy, good to hear from you. I would say Holetown if you prefer variety and everything close by, including lively nightlife. You can get to Speightstown and Bridgetown easily by bus from Holetown🏝️☀️
@@expatbarbados-jaeophelia Thanks, Jae. Nightlife isn't a big deal for us. Just a relaxing, quiet introductory visit. We were even thinking that for such a maiden visit we'd hire a touring driver to show us around and to familiarize us. I am hoping in January or February for sure.
