Railroad Crossing Where Truck Hit CSX Train During Pursuit 6 Weeks Later! House Next To 2 RR Tracks

Single Locomotive Pulling Long Train Of Newer Railroad Cars. Local Switcher Train Running Long Hood Forward. 1898 Rail Still In Use In Ohio.
I went to the railroad crossing where a pickup truck ran into the side of a moving CSX train. The state police were chasing the truck along with other police departments. It was a long chase that ended at the railroad tracks. The driver hit the train on purpose and then had a 4 hour standoff with the police. He was eventually arrested. This is the railroad crossing where it happened. I got a couple of fast CSX trains here. This is the north side of Miamisburg, Ohio.
We also see a blue house next to the tracks in the heart of Miamisburg on the Norfolk Southern tracks. I got a train to pass the house and then went to the abandoned coal power plant just west of town. The plant is still being torn down as you can see although part of it will remain for a new development. There is also a gravel lane across from the plant with a 5 track railroad crossing. We see a CSX train running north over the crossing.
I also went just a few miles south to Carlisle and got a few trains there at a couple of railroad crossings. I just barely got the CSX auto racks train. I heard the train on my scanner but due to traffic and road construction I just barely got to it.
I also show a mystery location where I found a section of rail dated 1898. This track is still in use. This rail is actually on the main track. It is a lightly used spur that serves several industries. I have tried a couple of times recently to get a train moving on this track but I have struck out. After I film a train passing over that rail I will show the location. I have filmed trains passing over it before.

Gary here, been watching and enjoying your railfan videos for a couple of years now. I just retired in June and was thinking of asking for a scanner for my 70th b-day next week so I can follow some trains. I just don't think we get as many freight trains in our area as you do. Mostly passenger traffic. Keep up the good work.

Sounds like the Silver Truck was trying to Outrun the Train Engines to get away from the Police! But he didn't make it, plus he can't Outrun Radios! He's lucky he didn't get Dragged by the Train when he hit it!

I just read that the CSX Clinchfield would detour trains through Russell, KY to Richmond into their flood damaged lines are rebuilt. Haven't read anything about the NS S line between Spartenburg and Koxville other that 50 miles of line will have to be rebuilt. Probably means more traffic on the Rathole.
That unit train of covered hoppers looked like they were pretty new. Only one or two cars were tagged. They were all the same construction with those horizontal ribs, remind me of the old Milwaukee Road boxcars.
Watched that chase on On Patrol Live. Crazy stuff.

If your a railfan or work for the railroad like I did It is exciting living near the tracks but years ago I was about to buy an old farmhouse till a train derailed and took out a portion of it and the bank refused to do the loan so I bought another house a bit further from the tracks.

I'm sure when they tore down the Philip Sporn power plant in New Haven, WV they probably thought that siding was done, too. They left the warehouses associated with Sporn standing and now the site has been given over to a company that's going to be supporting the new Nucor plant 30 about miles down the same subdivision.

Yes but only CSX does that. They do it on more lines than just this one
2-145, 2-89, 1-5, 2-125, 2-103, 3-165, 1-5, 1-105, 2-117.
The 2 nd train was heavy each roll of steel weighs somthing between 7 and 15 tones each, the covered ones may have special rolls or flat steel.
So that one would take a time to stop also flats would be worse on heaver wagons, heavy braking would ware more steel of the wheels.

The reason the trains are running fast is the engine lift the coffee pot on!! Also, the pickup truck driver reminds me of an old saying, STUPID is as stupid does!!! When your are visiting Miamisburg have you checked out the Indian Mound?? Very interesting also the former AEC Mound Labradory that Monsanto operated back in the day.

Plenty of Steel action again today. Gondolas coil cars slab cars you name it they ran it. An interesting thought regarding the big building at the power plant site. It has been seen in numerous Publications that old sites with lots of water but especially a good power grid hookup wind up being used for crypto coin mining or as data storage facilities for Amazon Apple etc and this one appears to be rural as people are pushing back on ones located near homes. The last car of the local was of Interest as IARC. stands for Industrial Air which was formerly Air Liquide and it looked like the word Argon was stenciled on the car. In an enclosed area it would cause breathing difficulties and should be kept from liquid nitrogen what's then becomes extremely flammable. Argon is a byproduct of producing oxygen and is used in welding applications From Wikipedia listing
