This traditional origami box is more like a pouch or envelope to me, it would look great with a ribbon wrapped around it. Would make a great party invitation, with a square piece of paper on the inside.
This is another masu box variation I believe.

in your blog you said "You can calculate what size your paper needs to be for a specific size, take the size you want and times it by 2.856." you said you ended up with 5.35 x 5.25, but here you said you ended up with 7x7. which one is it? what size paper do I need to end up with a 6.5in x 6.5in box?

this is very easy. btw where should i start white side up or color side up?

Fun tutorial, but I cut out the piece of paper 15cm x 15cm and my final piece did not come out to 7cm x 7cm. It came out to 5.5cm x 5.5cm.
