She's playing Omega ruby or Alpha Sapphire as said in the title and not the Pokemon Ruby Nuzlocke.
So it is obvious that this Torchic is not the same from her Pokemon Ruby Nuzlocke playthrough

My thoughts on gen 3 starters:
Torchic: It's adorable, and evolves into what I consider to be the most powerful starter.
Mudkip: Evolves into a water/ground type, so Wattson's gym will be a breeze with the innefectivity.
Treeko: It's got a butt on it's head.
