Quadrajet SECONDARY Throttle Shaft SPRINGS

- This video covers the installation (and also the removal) of the secondary throttle shaft bushings on a Rochester Quadrajet model 704 (1970-1975). Older and later models will be similar.
I decided to shoot a video of the necessary steps since it took me a while to figure it out, even after watching a couple other videos online. I figured others may run into a similar situation so hopefully, this will help clarify things and prevent having to redo this important step.
As far as the Quadrajet 704 carburetor I used for the demonstration, this is one that came from a 1973 Corvette. I am also doing a complete rebuild of the carb, including installing bronze primary throttle shaft bushings. I will also have a detailed video of the rebuilding process.
If you need a rebuild kit or any other Quadrajet parts, you may want to visit QuadrajetPower.com or QuadrajetParts.com as both companies offer the best selection of new and used parts along with excellent service.
This is not a sponsored recommendation. I buy parts from both companies and they've treated me well, so I gladly recommend them.
Thank you for watching! 🙂👍🏻

Thank You again.!! I'm in the process of the reassemble phase of my Quadrajet and to be honest, without your outstanding videos, I'm not certain I could do it.
That is very kind. Thank you for taking the time to comment and for watching my videos. 😊👍🏻

Thanks 76vette
You are welcome, and thank you for watching! 😊👍🏻
That's really good detail! What purpose does these springs serve though? Doesn't the throttle return springs serve the same purpose?
Good question. The throttle lever will open the secondary throttle body butterflies as long as the choke lockout is disengaged, but it will not close them. They are, basically, separate systems.
Thank you for watching! 😊👍🏻
