    This was very informative my case is confusing a bit. My bachelor degree is from Egypt however my master degree is from France. In this case which certificate do i apply for eligibility check and does having a certificate from EU change anything?

    • @visalibrary
      @visalibrary  5 місяців тому

      In your case, you should apply for eligibility check based on your master's degree from France. Having a certificate from an EU country, like France, can potentially simplify the recognition process, but you would still need to follow the procedures outlined by the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) in the UK to have your qualifications recognized and fulfill any additional requirements they may have, such as language proficiency and pre-registration training.

    Ospap is really a long process. I am a pharmacist and already in uk but really feeling stuck and frustrated here because registration is a process of two years minimum and without that you don't even get pharmacy dispenser job here

      To immigrate and work in the UK as a pharmacist, you will need to complete the Overseas Pharmacist Assessment Programme (OSPAP) or its equivalent. The OSPAP can indeed be a lengthy process, taking at least two years to complete. It's a prerequisite for registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) and obtaining pharmacy jobs in the UK. While the process may be frustrating, completing OSPAP is essential to work as a pharmacist in the UK, and there are no shortcuts. You can explore support and guidance from organizations like the GPhC or professional associations to navigate the registration process more smoothly.

    For the UK ENIC is it okay to include the license certificate in which country you’re licensed?

    • @visalibrary
      @visalibrary  10 місяців тому

      When immigrating to Australia as a pharmacist, it's essential to focus on the specific requirements set by the Australian Pharmacy Council (APC) and the Pharmacy Board of Australia. While the UK ENIC (United Kingdom National Information Centre) primarily assesses qualifications for use within the UK, including your licensing certificate from your home country can be beneficial when applying for registration with APC in Australia. However, the key is to ensure that your qualifications are formally assessed by APC to meet Australian standards. Consulting with immigration and healthcare professionals who specialize in pharmacist migration to Australia is advisable to navigate the process effectively. Keep in mind that requirements can change, so staying updated with APC and Australian immigration authorities is crucial.

    Does Eu/EEA pharmacist also need citizenship of the country as well or the degree is enough? For example I'm a pharmacist in italy with Italian degree but I don't have a citizenship

    • @visalibrary

      An EU/EEA pharmacist does not necessarily need citizenship of their country to immigrate to the UK. Having a recognized pharmacy degree and meeting the specific registration requirements set by the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) in the UK are the key factors.

      If you haven't completed the GPhC exam, it can be challenging to secure work sponsorship as a pharmacist in the UK because GPhC registration is typically a prerequisite for employment in this field. To increase your chances of obtaining work sponsorship, it's advisable to complete the GPhC exam and gain the necessary qualifications and registration before applying for pharmacist positions in the UK.

    Hey man! I've graduated as master of pharmacy from Sofia, Bulgaria, which is an EU country. Is OSPAP necessary for an EU citizen? Also, is it possible to apply directly for NHS in Scotland?

    • @visalibrary
      @visalibrary  4 місяці тому

      Yes, as a pharmacy graduate from Sofia, Bulgaria, or any other EU country, you would generally need to complete the Overseas Pharmacists Assessment Programme (OSPAP) if you wish to work as a pharmacist in the UK. The OSPAP is a one-year postgraduate diploma designed to ensure that pharmacists trained outside the UK meet the same standards as UK-trained pharmacists. After completing the OSPAP, candidates must undertake a period of pre-registration training and pass the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) registration assessment to be eligible to practice as a pharmacist in the UK.
      However, regulations can evolve, and there have been changes due to Brexit and ongoing adjustments in professional recognition between the UK and EU countries. Therefore, it's crucial to check the latest guidance from the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC), which is the regulatory body for pharmacists in the UK, for the most current requirements.
      As for applying directly to the National Health Service (NHS) in Scotland, yes, it is possible once you have completed the necessary qualifications and registration requirements to practice as a pharmacist in the UK. The NHS frequently advertises vacancies, and there are specific recruitment processes for different roles within the NHS, including positions for pharmacists. You would need to ensure you meet the eligibility criteria for registration with the GPhC and any specific requirements for the position you are interested in.

      You can apply through the WorkGateways website from your home country, two years prior to arriving in the UK for OSPAP. Complete the application process, provide required information and documentation, and be prepared for multiple stages and assessments. No, a minimum level of experience in your home country is not always required to work as a pharmacist in the UK. While experience can be beneficial and may be considered when assessing your qualifications, the primary requirements for working as a pharmacist in the UK are having a recognized pharmacy qualification and meeting the competency standards set by the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC). The specific requirements and assessment process may vary based on your qualifications and individual circumstances. It's advisable to check with the GPhC and the UK's regulatory authorities for the most accurate and up-to-date information regarding the requirements for international pharmacists in the UK.

    • @visalibrary
      @visalibrary  8 місяців тому

      To secure a job as a trainee pharmacist in the UK, you should start by registering with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC). As a pharmacist from Pakistan, have your qualifications assessed by the GPhC. Once registered, your next step is to find a pre-registration training placement, usually available in community pharmacies or hospitals. During this one-year training period, you will work under the supervision of a registered pharmacist and prepare for the GPhC registration exam. After passing the exam and completing your training, you can apply for full registration as a pharmacist in the UK. At that point, you can start your job search for pharmacist positions across various healthcare settings. While progressing through this process, be sure to maintain compliance with your immigration status and any visa requirements, particularly if you need to switch from your current care taker role to a pharmacist position. Consulting with the GPhC and UK immigration authorities can provide further guidance in your journey.

      To immigrate and work in the UK as a pharmacist with your experience in R&D from India, you will need to secure a job offer from a UK employer who can sponsor your work visa. The usual route is through the Skilled Worker visa, for which the employer needs to be approved by the UK government to sponsor such visas. It's important to ensure that your qualifications are recognized in the UK, and you may need to pass an equivalency examination or fulfill additional requirements set by the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC). Networking, applying directly to pharmaceutical companies or research institutions in the UK, and using professional job platforms are effective ways to find potential job opportunities. Engaging with legitimate and reputable recruitment agencies specialized in healthcare can also be beneficial. Avoid relying solely on consultancies without verifying their credibility and track record in successfully placing candidates in the UK.

      As a registered pharmacist in India looking to immigrate and work in the UK, you can follow the overseas-qualified pharmacist route. Here are the key steps and requirements:
      Overseas Pharmacists' Assessment Programme (OSPAP): You must complete the OSPAP, which assesses if your education and training meet UK standards. The program is in high demand, and it's crucial to check availability with your preferred university before applying.
      Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC): After completing the OSPAP, you must undertake 52 weeks of foundation training in England, Scotland, or Wales, followed by passing the GPhC registration assessment.
      Eligibility Assessment for OSPAP: Your eligibility for the OSPAP course is determined by assessing your qualifications, work experience, fitness to practice, and English language competency.
      Application for OSPAP Eligibility: There is a non-refundable fee of £687 for processing your OSPAP eligibility application. You should expect an update on your application within eight weeks.
      English Language Skills: Evidence of high-level English language proficiency across listening, speaking, reading, and writing is required. This can be demonstrated through English language test certificates, a pharmacy qualification from a majority English-speaking country, or work experience in such a country.
      Assessment of Pharmacy Qualification: If your pharmacy qualification is not equivalent to a UK bachelor’s degree in pharmacy, you'll need to assess the syllabus of your degree.

      To become a pharmacist in the UK with a Tier 2 visa, you would need to pass an assessment by the General Pharmaceutical Council, demonstrate English language proficiency, complete a one-year pre-registration training, and apply for registration with the council. Ongoing professional development is required to maintain your registration. It is advisable to consult the GPhC and relevant immigration authorities for the latest information.

    I have 2 year gap, can i apply for ospap

    • @visalibrary
      @visalibrary  3 місяці тому

      Yes, you can still apply for the Overseas Pharmacists Assessment Programme (OSPAP) after a 2-year gap in your professional experience. OSPAP is designed for international pharmacists to meet the UK's standards for pharmacy practice. However, specific entry requirements may vary by university offering the OSPAP course, so it's advisable to check directly with the institutions for their criteria regarding gaps in practice or education.

      Hello! Immigrating to the UK and working as a pharmacist involves several key steps:
      Qualification Recognition: First, you need to have your qualifications recognized by the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) in the UK. This typically involves the Overseas Pharmacists Assessment Programme (OSPAP), which is a one-year postgraduate diploma.
      Pass the GPhC Registration Assessment: After completing the OSPAP, you'll need to pass the GPhC registration assessment, which is crucial for obtaining your license to practice as a pharmacist in the UK.
      English Language Proficiency: As part of the registration process, you'll need to demonstrate your proficiency in English through a recognized test like IELTS or OET, achieving the required scores set by the GPhC.
      Tier 2 Visa Application: To work in the UK, you'll need to apply for a Tier 2 (General) work visa, which requires you to have a job offer from a UK employer who is licensed to sponsor Tier 2 visas.
      Secure a Job: Look for job openings in the UK for pharmacists. Websites like NHS Jobs, or general job portals like Indeed UK, can be useful resources.
      Professional Indemnity Insurance: Ensure you have the appropriate professional indemnity insurance, which is a requirement for practicing pharmacists in the UK.
