    Great video. Some details that I would suggest adding to the text description.
    Refill capacity is 1.3 L not 1.5L. The 1.5L is a dry first time fill. People may be worried they can't fit 1.5L with a drain and fill.
    Both fill and drain plugs use a 20mm crush washer and torque spec is 35 Ft-Lbs

    Fantastic video. Very concise and informative. Thank you. Just one bit of information, could you tell us the size of the hose?

    I see two different fluids on Amazon one being the two pump fluid in your video and another being vtm 4 differential fluid. Is there a difference? As the other is 1 gallon

      Yes, VTM-4 is a completely different fluid used on some generations of Pilots.

    Can you tell me please if the washer from this differential bolt is going to fit to the oil drain pan bolt as well?
    Thank you.

      I have recently changed myself the engine oil on my Honda CRV 2007, and I have a few spare washers. Thank for telling me that it is not fitting to the differential. I will order new washers for the differential.

    Easy Peasy👍
    Just like My ol 80 Gmc 4x4!
    Do you just torque both plugs (Drain and Fill) as i Do My ol Truck?
    I’m yet to find a torque spec for the Differential 🤷‍♂️
    And the Book Says: Take To The Dealer For Service😳😜
    Seriously🙄🤷‍♂️
    Someone is Hungry💰😂
    Thanks for The Video!!!
    I’m just going to torque by “Feel” 🤷‍♂️👍

    • @MechanicalMalarkey
      @MechanicalMalarkey  2 роки тому +2

      Torque spec is 35 lb ft, but I've always just gone by feel. I have seen someone strip one out and have to replace the whole unit though.

      @harryberry474 Рік тому +1

      @@encoreone...Thanks, I've seen a few videos of this procedure and how difficult it is (most of the time) to loosen those bolts, either the dealership or owners must be over tightening...if they rust in place maybe a good coating of heavy grease after fluid change would help? I've seen more than one video where they have to use an extension to get enough leverage. And anyone reading this...
      ALWAYS loosen the top (fill bolt) FIRST!

    I have a 2007 honda crv ex awd
    Ive been hearing some clunking noise when i turn and reverse turn . I changed all the mounts including the rear differential mount stiil having the issue i changed the differential fluid still hearing the issue . I see that alot of people are having the same problems and they go to the honda dealer and just replace the fluid again and still doing the noise . Anyone knows what can i be the problem?

    • @MechanicalMalarkey
      @MechanicalMalarkey  Рік тому

      It could be a problem with the differential gears themselves.

      Technically this is a 4wd car, not AWD, but any 4wd or AWD car will have a rear differential. A FWD car will not have one.

  • @DrWenChannel
    @DrWenChannel 2 роки тому

    For FWD (not 4WD or AWD) 2011 CRV, do I still need to change the rear differential fluid? Also when you need to change the rear differential fluid, if you put the car in Reverse gear and driving the CRV backward, would it make a hissing sound? Thanks!

    • @MechanicalMalarkey
      @MechanicalMalarkey  2 роки тому +9

      There is no rear differential on a front wheel drive car.
