Yeah....if anybody says paul, yngwie, steve or etc is bettet, i think he just start to learn about guitar for a week/month. Every guitarist has their own atmosfeer... And you guys may choose whose atmosfeers you want to enter.
This guitar looks amazing! I remember my older brother had the cassette Lean into it by Mr. Big back in the early 90's and first time listening to the songs and say "Who the heck is this amazing guitarist?" and my brother pointed to me that indeed it is the master Paul Gilbert! Been following Paul's work since then. Congrats Paul for the amazing 30 years and looking forward for more!
Has it been that long since the days of Racer X? WOW. So glad I have a little piece of Paul Gilbert's glory with my Paul Gilbert Mikro.... The 333 looks pretty cool, too. Thanks to Ibanez and Paul for all the music. Here's to 30 more years!
I love my korean RG220B dimarzio tone zone in the bridge and air norton at the neck. Dropped in an old Floyd I pulled from a 1986 ESP Japan Kramer... Great playing and sounding instrument. Thanks for 3 decades of inspiration Paul!!
There have been long specials about how the Ibanez George benson and Steve Vai signature models came to be, is Paul going to get one of those specials too? I hope so because I love to see him bring out the original prototypes and tell about them.
No because the PGM is based off the RG. The RG is in turn based off the JEM; the RG was the more affordable, non-signature model, to drive sales. The PGM has, usually, always been an RG with painted "f" holes and a slightly thicker neck.
@@stb301 Not really, look up the nineties Catalog scans of Ibanez and you'll find that the first PGM models had the same "Wizard" neck profile as the RG-550 on which they were based and there was a PGM model which had the Talman body shape. And the more recent "Fireman" couldn't be more different from the RG shape. Also, in 1986 the Roadstar models went from RS, to being RG and the change of body style happened along with the name change, so the model predates the JEM.
This is a pretty in depth video where Paul talks about his Fireman guitar and how it came to life if ur interested ua-cam.com/video/g59yiU7JunA/v-deo.html
@@RastaSaiyaman You just said it yourself, really, the PGM is based off the RG. And no shit the Fireman is different from the PGM; they are two different models. The RG is based off the JEM. They knew everyone could not afford a JEM but would want one. The PGM is a jazzed up RG. JEMs were prototyped in 1986, released in 1987 same as the RG. The RG was advertised in the Roadstar series but replaced the Roadsar Series II model in 1987.
She will be mine... oh yes! with 3 being my lucky number and the Dime 333 being my first guitar I bought when I was younger this beckons my name! Congrats on 30 years Paul 🙏
@@monocyte2210 It's a fun little axe but the pickups are a little shrill to my ears. If I feel like getting fancy, I might replace them. But I like having different scale lengths for different feels. You can bend so easily on the super-short scale. And $199? Kind of crazy. Mine had decent fret finishing and a good setup from Sweetwater.
I just hope Ibanez will one day re-release Pauls PGM100,200,300 and 500. I loved the 100 and 200. Had a chance to buy the 200 when I was in Japan back in the early 90s, and I did not bring my CC with me just cash cause I didn't want to overspend while out and I regret it to this day.
Dang it, yet another guitars to add to my PGM collection. Love the triple mini's. Wish it had an edge trem instead of the vintage style, even with locking tuners they don't stay in tune as well as a double locking trem.
It’s a great looking guitar! But I didn’t hear much difference in the tone while you were switching pickups. The bridge and the middle sounded exactly alike. The neck was just slightly different. Love the bridge and the inlays!
"More happy than proud"
Paul is such a genuinely nice guy
Eric Johnson said he wants his jacket back.
But Hendrix wanted it back from Eric ;)
Nigel Nunes but Napoleon wants it back from Jimi.
My chemical romance too
Hahaha😂
More like Sergeant Pepper hahaha
If someone could bottle Pauls enthusiasm, they'd make a fortune.
And that's a damn attractive guitar.
Yngwie is better than him

Paul Gilbert is one of the best humans alive. He's amazing in every way. EDIT: Ibanez guitar play AMAZING
His personality reminds me of Adam Dutkiewicz a bit. Cool dude.
He's really down to earth- guy, met him once after his guitar clinic, really fun and humble dude.
@@joelm5509 that's true, I saw a clinic here in Lisbon years go and he was absolutely humble and nice.
Safe to say that Ibanez nailed it with this product demo!!
That's filmed in his own studio. Thats how he films his guitar school videos. Same backdrop, amp placement, etc... He just filmed it FOR Ibanez.
@@GeoffSweet They both nailed it!
How easy is it for Ibanez to get this guy to sell their guitars? What a guy! 👍
Congratulation for 30th anniversary!! I'm going to buy this #pgm333 ! I love it!

Man do I miss the racer x days... It almost makes me cry that they're over...
Most likeable guitar player ever. And only gets better with age. Long time fan. Congrats on the 30th yr Ibanez Rock Machine!
Paul Gilbert is an inspiration to so many of us. I hope he plays another 30 years!
Damn! That middle pickup sound 😍
No wonder why Buckethead inherited that lick of yours and uses it a lot in his shredding... Sounds awesome.
Great master Paul. Keep rocking.
Paul Gilbert inspired everything guitar to me. All started when I bought a PGM301 in 2007.
I'm getting this instrument.
Paul Gilbert sure seems to be a cool guy to be around. So cheerful and enthusiastic! Much respect to this guy.

Did anyone else get a bit of a Jeff Goldblum vibe during parts of that?
YES
Now that you say it. I wanna hear him awkward laugh
Yes.. and David Letterman
Especially when he "got carried away"
Love that design!! And played by Paul wow!!!
