Thanks Kate, not just Mops, we have a tendency to discard and replace things in this day and age sadly, especially house hold appliances. Fortunately we have UA-cam to assist with everything 🤩.
Excellent! One update for the newer Swiffers: there are no holes in the newer motors. But using your info that the motor was likely seized, I simply knocked the handle of my screwdriver on the side of the motor a few times to jar it awake, then tried pushing the switch and voila! The motor worked again, and solution sprayed all over my pants! Hey, you didn't warn me about that! Hah... Thank you, thank you!!
IMPORTANT..... First of all thank you for the video. I was gonna throw it out. It was a really simple fix. NOW, upon looking at the entire system when opened, I have some very important suggestions so this doesn't happen again. First, when your'e not using it, take the bottle out. The bottle slowly leaks liquid in the line when not in use. So the line stays with liquid in it, plus the liquid is going to waste. 2nd, after you take the bottle out, spray the mop so all the liquid get's emptied out of all the lines. And you will never have that problem again. BTW, my motor doesn't exactly look like your's. My motor is totally closed. I gave it a hard tap and it started spinning again from being seized up. So always make sure the line is always empty and has no liquid in it. You all can thank me later. Have a blessed day everyone, and I love you all.
It’s alive! 😂 My Swiffer WetJet broke several years ago. I kept thinking I should throw it away, but I kept finding cleaning pads and solution I’d stored away! Unfortunately, mine wasn’t as easy to open as yours. I had to pull it out of the top of the unit and then get it all back together correctly, but thanks to your video I was able to understand the problem was in the motor and what that looked like! 😊🙌🏻 I couldn’t get to the bottom of the motor to put the tape on so I’ll just have to remember to take the bottle of cleaning fluid out when I’m not using it!
Thanks Sonya, what an episode you had, but glad that you where able to resolve, shouldn't worry about the Tape at the bottom so long as you have resurrected the unit 😀.
Thank you so much. Nothing I tried worked then I saw your video. I took it apart, those little screws are the worst, stuck a kitchen knife in the slit and now it works great!

Hi Eliana, apparently tapping the Motor with a Screwdriver handle can sometimes revive the Motor if it’s the type does not have the hole in the side. @@green-crocs-fixes1520 I didn’t say you guaranteed anything. 💁🏽♀️ I’m just saying when I tried to scew the lid back on, it wouldn’t work so definitely do not recommend trying to self-repair as it CAN only makes it worse.

My motor looks different 😭 there is no gap, it's fully encased in metal
Hi Amy,
yes I think there are some newer models with this type of Motor. Sorry but I do not have a solution for this.
Thanks alot it wotked
No problem Joe,
thanks
Fixed , but the cover DID NOT just pop off there was serious leverage and gouging to get off and secondly the put in back of the 2 screws I’ve had to sit dow ad get a drink 🥃 my nerves are shot might have to live without them 🙄🤣🤣🤣🤣
Thanks Amanda,
yes the Cover can be stubborn at certain times of the day, and if you can live without the top screws then that's a secret between me and you.
Regards.
Did NOT work, it made it worser to be honest with you, it had the motor but has no gap to see the nozzle so don’t know what happened there. Plus, couldn’t even put that lid back on, wouldn’t recommend. I’m going to have to buy a new one now.
Hi Eliana,
apparently tapping the Motor with a Screwdriver handle can sometimes revive the Motor if it’s the type does not have the hole in the side.
Slightly confused by parts of your comment as if the unit is not working how could you possibly make it worse ? And if the unit is not working why struggle with the cover ? Many people in the my comments have been successful and some not, I offered no guarantee of success 😀.
@@green-crocs-fixes1520 I didn’t say you guaranteed anything. 💁🏽♀️ I’m just saying when I tried to scew the lid back on, it wouldn’t work so definitely do not recommend trying to self-repair as it CAN only makes it worse.
@@Elianaj484 .
It worked, I couldn't believe it. Lol!
Superb, you made it count ☺️.
thank you
Thanks Brandon,
happy yo help.
This fixed mine too! Thanks for the help!
Thanks Carolyn,
well done 😀.
It is brand new,never used!
Recommend returning it Mary if its not working out of the box.
I can’t see the motor when I undo it all??
.
Why does this says Flash instead of Swiffer name?
Hi Pheara,
I think Flash is the UK brand and Swiffer for USA 😀
Mine doesn't have the window to the motor! Waahhhh!
Most unfortunate Rebecca,
not sure if the are new or old type.
