Quality isn’t cheap. Rex razors are pricey because they’re worth it! Worth every penny. I have the Konsul SS, Rhodium Plated with matching stand. Tolerances that even NASA would be proud of. A work of art and a world-class shaver!
Well they are worth it for the people that are willing to pay. You can achieve a comfortable smooth shave with much cheaper stuff. As with any product there are tiers of craftsmanship and price. I'm sure the Mercedes S class is definitely worth it but not all people want or can afford it

Great video. For people who say that the razor is too expensive, there’s a workaround if you want to own one. Matt often posts a “scratch and dent” option on his Rex website. That’s how I got his Konsul and Ambassador for a fraction on their cost. Matching stands too.
Think Matt of Rex himself says it is a 4 on the Konsul. I have been split on this razor or the Konsul. I have an Envoy but think on this style I would want the adjustable version.
It might just be the blade. Matt said they designed the Sentry and Konsul to be more blade neutral after some ppl complained about there being too much blade feel with the Ambassador.
I happened to pick up a discounted "scratch and dent" factory second directly from Rex. I didn't think I would pay the full price, but after using it, it might be.
Efficient eh.. hahaha. Great shave Geo and results using the REX Sentry, I have the Konsul adjustable and really like it. Nice soap and package. Thanks.
@@BartBuzzI had the same opinion on the price until I used my Ambassador. I was prepared to send it back if it didn’t live up to my expectations, but half way through the first shave I knew I would keep it. There is a difference and if one can afford it, it’s well worth it. It’s a lifetime razor that can be passed on. If you use it for 30 years, it cost less than $1/month.
@@jefife750 I agree about the Rex quality. I've kept mine because it's made in the USA and without a high-quality safety razor. My problem has to do with the positive blade exposure. I usually don't go above setting 1.5. So, in my case, I rarely use it as an adjustable. But I do use it from time to time.
@@BartBuzzThe ambassador is the only Rex I currently own. I totally agree with you that there is a lot of blade exposure/blade feel and that doesn’t work for some. I spoke with Matt before buying as I was undecided between the Ambassador vs the Konsul. When I told him my two favorite razors are my R41 and my Fatboy, he recommended the Ambassador. I rotate between the them and have a hard time picking a favorite. He said the Konsul was designed to have less blade feel. I may add a Konsul in the future. I’m sure I will like it. The quality is impeccable and honestly, way beyond where it needs to be and I seek out such products. Cheers!

@projectx5154 Absolutely. A person can buy a Rockwell 6C for example, highly affordable.
That was a super smooth shave Geo!
Thanks!
What I like about the Rex sentry is that the safety bar isn’t super big like they are on most slant razors.
Good point!
Nice video Geo. Rex razors are too aggressive and expensive for me, but they are beautiful. Have a great weekend. 👍
If you turn the adjustable version all the way down it won't be aggressive. The price... OK.

Thanks! Happy Saturday to you Anthony!
Very nice razor. I may pick one up.
Go for it! bit.ly/RexSentryRazorSN
Rasoio stupendo come lo sono tutti i Rex.😊
È vero, sono rasoi molto carini! Grazie per la condivisione.
Nice, Geo, thanks!
Thanks!
Geo, which is the best Parker Razor for sensitive skin and mild beard growth?
The 29L bit.ly/Parker29LSN is designed for mild beards and ladies shaving
Some day $. It and the Rex konsul are on my budget list. I love slant razors. Would love to try one.
Hi Geo, Thanks for another great video. I have a quick question; where is the Sentry in terms of aggressiveness compared to the scale of Rex Konsul?
Think Matt of Rex himself says it is a 4 on the Konsul. I have been split on this razor or the Konsul. I have an Envoy but think on this style I would want the adjustable version.

Hi Terry, thanks for sharing.
How dies it compare to the Merkur 37c in terms of aggressiveness?
Nice one Sir.
Thank You
An excellent and informative review. Too aggressive for me and a bit pricey too. But then most REX razors aren't cheap.
Quality always comes at a price...

Hey Geo. I have a question. Why does the lather dry when I apply it on my skin?
Because you're not adding enough water to it
@@geofatboy I will try adding more water next time. Thank you Geo!
Soak ur brush in hot water for a minute and then gently rinse the excess water. After that start lathering up.
