I had never given Mr Sutherland a second thought. Just figured he was a typical liberal snob. Then my husband and I decided to watch 24. Omg!!!! I've never been so enthralled with a series. We are on season 7. Anyway I started looking into his background. He was a rodeo calf roper. Say what??? He loves Merle Haggard. ( My favorite.) He sings and travels singing country music??? He left home at 15 and never graduated from high school??? And he does cooking videos?...I thought my head would blow off. I've NEVER EVER been so wrong about a person in my life. I would love to meet this man.
Ann Eaves if you hear him speak he is anything but a liberal snob not even sure he identifies as liberal maybe independent or something but is a nice down to earth man aside from Jack Bauer and his movies are great 3 musketeers 1993 Lost Boys 1987 Stand By Me was the first the list goes on and to prove what a man he is he was mugged in Los Angeles a few years back first thing he says to the mugger "please don't shoot my dog". Well I think he does indetify as Liberal. Not totally sure, but I think so. And I don't know if you guys are aware, but his Grandfather was Tommy Douglas, who was the premier of Saskatchewan (here in Canada), and, basically, was the one who came up with our free health care system. So...I'd be very surprised if he wasn't Liberal. Given who his Grandfather was. I know he admires his Grandfather like crazy, I've heard him mention it in several interviews. He seems in awe of him, actually. Tommy Douglas was a member of the NDP, which is a Liberal political party. I love that Kiefer is Canadian. He grew up here. I do know what you mean about Liberal snobs, though. And I wouldn't personally identify as a Liberal. If I had to pick, I'd say I'm Conservative. But, at the same time, sometimes a person doesn't fit into just one box....like most of the time I agree with the Conservatives, but then there are issues where I agree more with the Liberals. Not everyone fits perfectly with one side. Plus there are 4 national parties here in Canada, not 2 like you guys in the US, so things are more nuances here, and less divisive.... ...and so maybe he is a bit like that - more nuances, less divisive. After all, he is Canadian. I even once heard him in an interview say that he never got his American citizenship, he was still using a Green Card, because it just felt wrong, he wanted to stay Canadian.
