I think there are 3 factors that make teamkilling acceptable in both Helldivers and Magicka: - little consequence, you can just resurrect your teammates back up; - plausible deniability, "I wasn't aiming at you, you just happened to be there"; - exaggerated effects, your buddy gets to see his body ragdoll into the sky or burst into a shower of blood and guts, it's entertaining;
@jpjfrey5673 they are but not to an insane degree. Each helldivers technically can die 5 times relatively care free before being put on the cooldown. Similar horde games will rarely give you such, usually chosing to put you on a downed state with gradually worsening effects the more you go down and usually a pretty constraining situation to get fallen teams back. Unless a death happens under cooldown at the end of a mission or once the timer has ran out, it has relatively little consequence.
Honestly, my knowledge and opinion on animation in video games can be summarized as; “Does it have ragdoll physics? Yes or no.” Because Ragdoll physics in games is like having Jeremy Irons in a movie where he’s allowed to scream, “THIS SCENERY IS *FUCKING* _DELICIOUS!!!”_ and go completely ham on set. It won’t SAVE a bad game (or movie) but either of those things will automatically bump them up AT LEAST one letter grade. F to an D, a B to an A, you get the idea.
You can still have armor with Democracy Protects, even if you didn't get the Super Citizen or preorder bonus. In the first warbond there are two armors that have Democracy Protects.
I will say that's my only gripe with badgers vid is that he kinda framed it like it was a pay to win kinda armor by not mentioning that OTHER armors had that same perk.
One of my favorite loadouts in this game is one I like to call “float like a butterfly, sting like a bee” where I often use the railgun and jetpack, along with light armor, so I can fly around like a madman, blasting chunks out of the enemy while also being super squishy
Problem with Railgun was how meta players keep hijacking random matchmaking games. Literally second after join you could get kicked by host bc you dont have Railgun
I believe The Actman made a review video about the game, and his theory on why team killing is fun for that game is the best I've heard so far. Definitely recommend you to check it out.
To be fair, regarding the recent nerf. People used a flamethrower for anti-armour purposes and were surprised when it no longer functioned as anti-armour.
@Kaltsit- sc2 is on life support and milked dry, poor Koreans, warcraft 3 has a terrible quality not even Blizzard made it but it's on their name, Overwatch 2 diversity-friendly and woke bullshit quality is very poor makes the predecessor look much better on the early release version of it and the work environment on the Blizzard studio is questionable Diablo = p2w World of Warcraft writers just killed the game and the story smh 😂

The gaming industry is just sad at this point. Helldivers and lethal company had a few months of unbridled success, and now helldivers is dropping off (I hear NOTHING about it now) and lethal has slowed down but is still being played.
Nah both are obviously losing players form their peak but that is because it is silly to expect games that have a simple repeating gameplay loop with no requirement for grinding to hold their peaks of players forever. It just isn't logical. Helldivers has not had a big world shaking major order in a while that is worth covering like it was the case with the creek or the Meridia black hole, and the new stuff added in escalation of freedom was mired in the un-nessesary nerfs of weapons that didn't need them. But there is still a healthy player base for a game that is not crushing your spine for not playing it daily. As for lethal company. It is a 5 bucks indie game with an even simpler repeating gameplay loop. Who in their right mind would expect it to keep it's peak players when most of the enjoyment is based around first discovery and the associated horror and goofiness that goes with it.
There's no need to preorder to get the Gambler's Special - there's an armor with the same passivve in the base warbond everybody gets for free. Just need some grinding for medals.

Honestly the weapon argument is valid but it hasn't bothered me, though I fight Bugs primarily. Unless the orders say otherwise, a sector needs immediate help, or I want to mix things up, I stick with Bugs. My drop weapons are the Shotgun "Slugger" from the Base Warbond and Revolver "Senator" from the Veterans Warbond. They're manual load but a headshot in Warriors and lower deals with that (Hunters suck because of their side jump but that's a minimal issues). Then also I use Impact grenades. My Strategems are kinda the same as Badger. I have an Airstrike, Shield, Quasar Cannon, and something else as a situational wildcard (typically an AC Turret). With armor, yes I run the 50/50. Aside from armor bonuses and stats, everything else is cosmetic. With Boosters, I just apply what I think we might need.
Just yesterday i and my team were waiting for the pelican to arrive just 3 of us sitting there while our fourth was running away from a bile titan that spawned after our ships left and i ran out of ammo for my mech,it took so long for the bile titan to kill my team mate that the pelican arrived right as it got him,but since i had some time before getting in i waited fir the bile titan too come close too our landing pad and walked the mech off the clip on to the titan and immediately crushed the undamaged titan in a second,i wish i new that it would work before it killed the other guy.

I'm so sad this Badger video got me hyped again for Helldivers right as the game royally fucks over it's playerbase with some CM antagonizing players on the Reddit and Discord. Everything that was fun got nerfed hard and we've been over this already, these MFs don't listen or learn. The CCO's cool though, he gets us.

The borderlands movie is 106 minutes ish and it feels 2 hours. Badger made a 90 minute video that feels like 5 minutes.
