- Hummer H1 on 2n17x in Big Bear. H1 Hummer of the H1PsychoSquad. Hummer X Club member too. Short Clip (with higher quality) of awesome wheelie through blue thunder pass but also a door ding to add to the H1 Hummer's character. Possible rollover? Maybe.... but the rocks hit the door and bounced me back.
That spotter would be buying me a new door
wow that hummer made a nice bounce back when it went on it's side.
Hummers are my fav, they can get through almost anything! Thanks for the movie!
Pretty crazy getting all dukes of hazzard on that.
needs more flex, and that spotter is the reason why he has a jacked up door. the driver did great with what he was being told.
Anyone could see that driving right was, indeed, WRONG.
Jesus that spotter goof'd.
that was great holy cow but ouch on the slam
@theninja001 well they were designed for desert storm which is sand. independent doesn't have a bulky differential housing acting as an anchor in deep soft sand dunes. same idea works with ruts in mud. solids are far superior for crawling.
I always feel like crappin my pants when I do tippy stuff like that!
good job negotiating that, the hummer seems to have no flex what so ever, so it definately made that scary
Yeah that's true no flex just tires, width and gearing. One thing many people forget is that it can do all this while being equivalent to a Ford F-550 rated or Chevy 5500. It has a 4,000 lb actual payload not Towing payload LOL
I love how the spotter goes "OKAY LEFT" after it slams the door. Little late buddy.
The amazing thing about the H1 seems to be the fact that IS like taking a schoolbus off road. Its supposed to go fast over fields with no roads and no boulders. Being able to rock climb is just a huge bonus.
Its like a kids toy, meant to be durable enough even for the dumbest kid, who rides it as hard as possible without even thinking about breaking anything.
It amazes me how much childminded abuse it can take. Certainly much more that you can sensibly expect it to.
great job, nice hummer! thats why their so wide-to make harder to tip!
Unfortunately no articulation or it would never have had to be so sideways LOL
Its a TANK i love it i heard they dont make them anymore for the public its a shame
Amazing...only a hummer can do this....real nice video dude...
that old guy said and i qoat "he needs to be at more of an angle or he will flip over, again" unqoat
That other guy who was helping spot at first, he knew what was going to happen. The driver should have listened to him and his door would still be straight. I think the person spotting in this case should pay for the repair because he was warned by the other guy this was going to happen.
@2:36 turning wheel to the driver side would had save the door
yeah, at that same I was thinking he needed to turn into it, not away from it. I have zero off roading experience too....But, I know physics and angles.
great video, but as soon as this video started you could tell that hummer was going over. He began way to far on the rock and then turning the wheels to the right near the end of the video just made that truck to unbalance. Definitely spotter error though. But hey its a hummer, and knock out that dent :D
I dont think Hummers are meant for rock-crawling like that... But it takes some big balls to get up in the air like that :O
Exactly they are great at things but people act as if no articulation and almost flipping something 7 ft wide is something impressive really it's just putting it somewhere it shouldn't be doing something that shouldn't be. And I'm not ignorant to them I know exactly what they can do and why and how they can do it but this was just kind of silly
Boy, H1 suspension pretty much refuses to even move!! Cool trucks, but I love my solid axles!!
Great vid, Great driving, Great Car!
This is soo crazy! beats the shit out of my locked up coilover dodge. and i thought i had a rockcrawler!
For what the humvee was designed for, it has the perfect suspension. 16" ground clearance under the diffs & 9" under the control arms, plus a low center of gravity, you won't get all that with solid axles. And it's BEEFY, not like GM's wimpy IFS.
How that spotter didn't see that the left tire would go to the bottom of the rut when it fell is beyond me. They must have just handed out HUMMER t-shirts, then someone else saw him wearing it and figured he knew what was doing and could be a spotter
Definitely spotter error, but practice makes perfect. The spotter doesn't always know there correct line for every vehicle, because often differenct vehicles needs a different lines. Of course, if it is a group of all hummers, then its just rinse and repeat. ;)
H1 is the best off roading vehicle for civilian!! i tried it when i ride my uncle`s H1 alpha in mt pinatubo, philippines i am laughing at those FJ,wrangler, toyota cruiser getting stock in mt pinatubo
WOW, THAT WAS SWEEEEET< nice job, would be pretty scary, added to my 67 other hummer h1 favorites, Hummers forever, add more, Ill watch
All types have there advantages and dis advantages. ever seen a H1 take on a puddle halfway up its windshield? its amazing. but the jeeps are too light for that. but jeeps can get through this stuff faster cuz there lighter and smaller.
thats the problem with rock crawling on IFS
thats why you take the doors off and put in tube doors just for off roading.
These are badass vehicles, but I still like my jeep
Still waiting for your videos mr. hummer expert. Do a search for psycho squad for any of ours.
@theninja001 lol they definitely fit in a wide open desert. I want one too. Hopefully I can afford a surplus 2 door sometime in my life. I don't care how banged up or blood stained it is. I've seen some surplus sites selling them for 25-30grand. Not too bad for a raw off road truck fixed up by the military that comes with 37s. I mean a new jeep can run up to 30grand without 37s so the rumor jeeps are cheaper is false unless its used and banged up by an amateur not a trained soldier.
@markssite yeah, they definantly perform great where they can fit!! i would love to have one!
All those lifted jeeps I see on the trails all the time with the same wheelbase as the H1 running 37-40" tires and big beefy axles must be my imagination eh? ;) Only difference is the truck has more potential for body damage then a small buggy on top of a larger rolling chassis.
Yeah they're great but no articulation
@@ronaldrrootiii6040 Yeah, that comes with the territory with independent suspension unless I want to custom fabricate a long travel suspension and have to custom engineer a way to make it work with the inboard brakes or portal axles. It just needs different lines and driving style. I was able to go anywhere else a full blown solid axle setup can go with probably a few exceptions like escalator in Moab and some of the Hammer trails out in Johnson valley but that'll be me beating up a truck just to prove a point I'm not really interested in making. Most of these things are sitting in storage or some dudes collection, I'm glad I got mine when I did.
Like half of this video was watching the truck sit in the same position, L2 EDIT N00B.
Jk, in all seriousness nice truck. Love the H1.
@kletterman no you drove a hmmwv big differnce and this is also a hmmwv
nice car
when the driver turned to the right his fate was sealed, had he steered left and applied just a little throttle he would have been fine
Bad spotter.. just my opinion of course. H1s rock
at least it was just the door...
Should have put you far more drive to land the wheels on the ledge, i think. Cool video, thanks for sharing.
No, turn it your OTHER left!
LOL
good bye mirror and did you see all those other hummers at the bottom of the hill
It's not really showing off when we break shit half the time :). That being said the hummer just a different off road vehicle. It has its weakness's and strengths. If you go by you tube comments, you'd think all hummers get 1 mpg, float on water, are bullet proof, have the wheelbase of a limo, breaks tie rods every 3 feet, and all run on gasoline. No harm no foul, see you on the trail [where these trucks belong].
that shit'll buff out
hey i cant say your opinion is wrong.. thats fine if you think theyr ugly.. but they are extremely capable. and you must be thinking if grand cherokees. im not a fan of those either. Cherokee sports (XJ) like i have, are the older boxy looking ones. yeah some are arent so attractive when stock, but if they are setup as a wheeler with nice tires and some sort of lift and steel bumpers.. roof basket.. whatever.. they look mean as hell. you have to own one or drive one to really appreciate them
Nice car
@CnRDirt Who says that offroad vehicle should have solid axles? Isn't the main thing that the vehicle is capable. Look for chainlink 4x4 video here in youtube, it will beat any solid axle vehicle in wheel articulation. One reason why hummer doesn't have solid axles, is that with independent suspension you get superior ground clearance.
regardless of vehicle. That was purely driver and spotter error. He turn the wheels to the right before he gassed it which sent him slamming into the rock. Hummer, Rover, or Jeep he would have bashed that rock.
You know I'm thinking that any other 4x4 wouldn't have handled this as well due to them having a much higher center of gravity than the H1.
Just a thought
A straight axle design would have been better for articulation so it wouldn't have had to lean so much. To make something 7 ft wide still almost want to flip means it's going somewhere it shouldn't because it has no flex at all
how many of you guys own hummers?
there is like 6 or 7 in the background
jesus you guys are lucky
What kind of tires are you running on that hummer?
I drove a hummer in the military as well and it went where ever I pointed it. Then again it didn't belong to me so I drove it like I stole it. heh
@bapismc .. Land rover wouldn't clear that sorry.. Neither would alot of jeeps for that matter.. Hummer-jeep-land rover..
word!!!
ya he needed to get one foot over to the right. the guy on the right should of been the spotter
shits crazy!!!!
at 2:11 if he would turn left it wont crash it anymore
I see a lot of the 'Good' HUMMERS. I love the H1's. All else generally look like crap.
Gotta pay to play!
stop...stop...stop....there is a perfectly open passage if he goes to his left abit...oh...then his left side will be climbing the ridge....oh......too wide...mmmm....ok keep doing what you are doing......crunch...thud....smash.
@MrINVADER727 its spelled quote....
that thing couldnt flex on 3 dimes.
people go nuts over Jeeps, Land Rovers and Land Cruisers at these so called off road events but nobody ever mentions the Hummer, the big daddy
The tubHummer is awesome in every way but there's no articulation at all when a built up jeep Land Rover or Land Cruiser could articulate through that without the body wanting to flip so bad. When something 7 ft wide has no flex and wants to flip it needs more articulation. Original Hummer is great but it's not built for literally every single thing nothing is
❤👌👍
debió girar la rueda a tiempo a la izquierda... :S
Damn spotter! 🤦♂️
Why would u turn right in that position??????????????
Hey what's a Hummer without a dent?
devió girar la rueda a tiempo a la izquierda... :S
yaa after he smashed up his $100000 h1
the whole purpose of a spotter is to minimize all damage
Ouch"
I'd kick the spotter's ass. That looked bad from the beginning. He should have had him at least steer driver once the tire planted.
Should have turned left hand down. would have stopped it rolling over
lol luky he left with ownly a door dent if the rock was not ther the car will have rolled
UGLY IS NICE
any thing the hummer can do the jeeps can do it too but better
H1 jeep land rover Suzuki thennnn all other hummers
Yeah but then he probably would have dropped the sill on the other side onto a rock.
Geil Hummer sind Geil
This is called the king of offroad why? It doesn't even have solid axles....
whats flex???
Spotter should have been yelling left hand down!!!!!! Could have been avoided.
I love original Hummer but absolutely no articulation at all. Just tires, width and gearing
Then why are you watching this vid?
Bad spotting, bad driving. But hey, he’s got money. Anyone that knows H1s will immediately call out the likely bent spindle, blown hub seal, and a CTIS leak over putting all the weight on the outside edge of the wheel. That’s a 1500 dollar fix before the door and mirror. End rant.
really
sohel anwar
jeeps can fit everywhere hummers are too big
i swear these things have no articulation
and who the hell needs it? lol
this is a hmmwv not a hummer
That spotter is the definition of useless!
Lol
no! he would have TWO gay jeeps remember LOL
he zigged we he should have zagged. should have went left before it hit. Don't need a spotter to know that. oh my trucks leaning so i'm gonna keep going the direction thats causing it. idiots. Have the money for a hummer at least replace them doors with tube doors and that dent wouldn't have happen.
Ugh? you ever driven these things in the desert? 80mph? Unless you are running baja with an upgraded suspension it's not fun. I'm going to avoid writing an easy on this but in short the hmmwv platform was designed for a wide array of terrain, ideally hit and run tow tank killers in eastern europe in case Russia swarmed the Rhine during the cold war.
Besides the cooling system can't handle sustained 80mph off road without significant upgrades. You have no idea what you are talking about.
Terrible spotter!
Damn, I got owned by a youtube poster.
I better go sell my trucks and get out of the off road business. Because obviously I have no idea what I'm talking about.
Feel free to post your off road videos, otherwise I'm wasting my time responding to another armchair off road guru shooting shit in the breeze ;).
Horrible spotter
